Warning do not pay for this service!

This is easily one of the worst AI photo generator services available. From the very beginning, the experience is frustrating and poorly designed. The company cannot even provide a basic email-and-password login system. Instead, you are forced to log in through Discord or Google every single time, which is unnecessarily complicated and unreliable. I spent hours just trying to access an account I was already paying for.

That alone says a lot about the level of professionalism behind this product. If a company cannot build a simple login page, it is no surprise that the AI generator itself performs extremely poorly. The image quality and results are far inferior to many other AI services currently available online.

When I received the yearly subscription renewal email yesterday, cancelling was an easy decision. There is no point paying for a service that is difficult to access and delivers substandard results once you finally manage to log in.

This product feels amateurish, poorly executed, and not worth the money. I regret paying for it at all. Fortunately, I only paid for one year, and I will never return. Save your money and choose a more competent service.

midjourney is a waste of time and money

Today again, I spent four hours on MidJourney trying to create a female MMA character on a simple white background, to use as a reference character for a comic book. After four hours, I don’t have a single usable image. The background is rarely white, the system can’t produce a proper abdomen with realistic abs, any time there’s a bit too much visible skin it gets censored, and as soon as edit mode is used, anatomical proportions break down and the program starts adding accessories, backgrounds, tattoos, and other unwanted elements.

I honestly don’t understand how MidJourney still has customers. It works fine if you’re not demanding and just let the program do whatever it wants. But the moment you have specific goals and requirements, nothing works. It’s impossible to talk to a human, and their AI-based support is infuriating. Their moderation policy is ridiculous. They claim they don’t want any content created that wouldn’t be suitable for under-13s, but I didn’t realize that going to the beach was forbidden under that age. Maybe below that age you’re supposed to have a heart attack at the sight of a woman in a bikini.

In short, don’t waste your time — and a lot of money — on this program.

There are already many much better AI…

There are already many much better AI graphic services on the market. On top of that, Midjourney’s policy is absolutely terrible. I wanted to cancel my subscription just one minute after they charged my account. I hadn’t used the service even once during the current billing cycle, yet I was told that no refund would be issued because they take into account the total number of hours I’ve used Midjourney overall. I haven’t used it much throughout my entire time as a user, but they still refused to refund the unused month.

This feels like a scam to me, and this was definitely my last time using Midjourney.

Blocking out of the blue without explanation or refund

They banned my account out of the blue, without explanation or any way to resolve the issue, and this was on the second day after purchasing a subscription! All attempts to obtain even the slightest information about the blocking have been met with failure. Appeal letters are wasted, and they're not even read. This is the first time I've encountered such an attitude toward customers who are willing to pay for the product! They took the money and then blocked it. I wish everyone involved would buy a burger and leave the cafe with only an empty bag in their hands, having paid for the air in the bag!

The constantly trying to charge me…

The constantly trying to charge me after subscription cancellation- so minus. It's unacceptable. Pics are nice, videos not so much, after a while you become annoyed that the most humans looks kinda the same style, fake beauty standards, generated people often follow lack of diversity, too much censorship, i tried generated tampons underwater which is real pollution in the sea i saw during snorkelling and it got censored, censorship comes very often, it's very hard and sometimes impossible to generate ppl with different body shapes, like really fat ppl, impossible to generate someone truly ugly, in certain age, yeah midjourney you are disneyword, ah i forgot about lack of character consistency, it's December.2025 it's time to improve on that

Worst Image Generator and Horrible Customer Service

I subscribed to the standard plan after hearing how “great” it was, but within an hour I realized how badly I’d been misled. I’ve used a lot of AI generators over the years, and this is honestly one of the worst. It can’t follow even the simplest prompt correctly. Yes, the fine details look impressive, but they’re completely wasted when the images are full of glaring defects and basic mistakes no competent generator should be making.

On top of that, when I reached out for a refund, I was met with unhelpful and downright disappointing customer service. The whole experience was a waste of time and money. Really wish I had found all these reviews before signing up.

Was great years ago

Was great years ago, but has gotten to the point that artsy-fartsy stuff is wonderful, but real world stuff is censored to the gills. "Children visiting zoo" was censored, saying "questionable caged animal ethics"... Want a nice wholesome shot of the family at a beach? You'd better make sure the females are wrapped head-to-toe in blankets. If the evil censor-bot sees female flesh, CENSORED! Question the filtering system on Discord, get banned. Lately, it doesn't really adhere to prompts any more. Frustrating. The "video" feature is 50/50 hit and miss. Finally had enough. Four year subscriber with 20,000+ images generated. There are now way too many excellent up and coming image and video generators that are light years ahead of MJ's deteriorating slop. They once were kings. Now... well, nothing. CANCELLED.

A Common Scam - Stay Away

This platform hands out arbitrary system bans with no explaination, no communication, no refunds and no recourse. Do not do business with a company like this, one completelely devoid of business ethics. And obviously managed by people who are more interested in collecting a fee than their users, which they treat as little more than data cows. Interesting stance for a company to take considering its built entirely on mass theft that it's using a legal department to figure out how to make stealing all the training data that wasn't theirs perfectly alright, then use it for their own profit but don't feel the need to explain their actions to subscribers or say, anything at all. They don't have to. Why? They say they don't! I didn't know you could do that! Would be awful if MJ employees suddenly experienced sudden inexplicable denial of paid services with no explaination....

AI Slop Defined

Unusable. Simple, direct prompts are ignored with the AI tending towards unnatural, hyper AI-coded slop. There is a reason you don't get a refund after using for a week.

Midjourney V7 is incomplete, unstable, and effectively unusable

I subscribed to Midjourney V7 with the intention of using it for serious creative and professional work. What I received was an incomplete and unstable product that lacks essential functionality.

The new web interface is missing key tools. Most importantly, Vary (Region) / inpainting — one of the core features for any real editing workflow — has been completely removed or is simply not available in the new UI. Tutorials and documentation suggest that these features exist, but in the actual product they are either hidden, broken, or no longer accessible.

The interface is inconsistent and confusing. Basic editing options fail to appear. Upload dialogs do not open. Buttons disappear depending on which view you are in. The system forces you into a half-finished “Create” interface that lacks even the most fundamental editing tools. You end up spending hours trying to find basic functions that simply are not implemented or not working.

There is also a complete lack of communication. Midjourney rolled out a major UI change without informing users that essential features were removed or not yet operational. For a service that charges over $100, this level of transparency and stability is unacceptable.

I subscribed less than 24 hours ago and was not able to use the platform for even the most basic tasks I paid for. In its current state, Midjourney V7 behaves more like an unstable beta than a production-ready tool.

Midjourney needs to restore essential features, communicate transparently, and stabilize the interface before charging users for a service that is effectively non-functional. At this point, I cannot recommend it to anyone who needs reliable tools for professional or creative work.

Midjourney not worth the hype after all

I have never in my entire life had a company I PAID to subscribe to not have a private customer support way of contacting them. Instead, you have a forum (Discord) and a bunch of paid mods people that just spew out the standard "out of the handbook" answers to your concerns. It was supposed to be one of the top AI generators for the digital products I wanted to produce and sell, however, it still can't spell words correctly 8 times out of 10, there are simple bugs in AI like problems with colors, can't understand HEX codes, beards, and other little quirks and descriptive words that other, less expensive AI tools have found a way to fix and MJ has not. All of the other AI tools, free and paid, have some sort of delete function for unwanted images, MJ does not. They had a slow way, but took that away, blamed it on people dodging ToS. Another "out of a book" answer. The CEO has weekly open door meetings in San Francisco CA where people can go and give their input. A lot of good that does any of us not on the West Coast. You should ALWAYS be able to reach a customer service team in private when you are PAYING to use a service. PERIOD. I don't care if it's AI business or KFC. It would be like Walmart strictly relying on chat bots - that would kill their business. Midjourney paid version website has turned out to be not in the top of any ranking in my opinion. Maybe they were before new tools, but they certainly aren't now. I have started looking elsewhere for less expensive tools and do not plan to renew with MJ. Shame because they do have some of the most realistic generation if you can get a prompt the way you want it. But they seem to be unwilling to change for the customer needs, and instead only change what they want to. I guess the customer is always right isn't what it used to be. **ADDING - the mods also thought it was funny to keep the fact the issue today was known and being worked on and were making ridiculous jokes on the public forum instead of privately - even calling one customer an A - hole (using full word) so that tells you how fast MJ has gone downhill and how they really don't give a crap about the customers, paying or otherwise. Counting down the day until my subscription ends.

love it

I've been a Midjourney users for years and I honestly love so much about what they've created. I have hand tremors and I haven't been able to draw for a few years, but Midjourney lets me be an artist again. They're also incredibly helpful if you're having issues with your prompting.
