Unethical company and biased mediator

Alison Bull was instructed as our mediator during divorce mediation.
After the first joint meeting I thought she had behaved with a bias towards my ex.
I then found out later that she was in partnership with my ex's solicitor who worked as a partner at Mills and Reeve.
This was never disclosed.
Then I later found out that Alison and my ex's solicitor had been communicating during the mediation process without my knowledge.
This is unethical.
When I confronted the company they dismissed it as nothing and demanded that I pay their invoice, which included the communications between Alison Bull and my ex's solicitor.
What a disgrace. This company is unethical. STAY WELL CLEAR

This company represent the disgusting…

This company represent the disgusting company MBR Acres Huntingdon, an American company that breed beagle puppies in disgusting conditions ( no fresh air, sunlight, fresh water and left for over 12 hours) then send to labs in impex vans ( who’s owner has just been banned from driving as had extremely high amount of cocaine in his blood!) to labs to be unnecessarily used for toxicology tests that inflict pain, distress and horrific deaths! All funded by the taxpayer

Never apply for a job with this firm

Never apply for a job with this firm. Recently had/was supposed to have interviews with them. The 1st one was a one way interrogation. Interviews are supposed to be two way systems the interviewers are interviewed just as much as the interviewee. The 2nd interview they stood me up and the recruiter ghosted me.
It this is how they treat people before a job, god knows how they treat people within the organization.

Haven't paid me for services provided!

If this firm is instructing you to do work for them, get payment in advance!

In my capacity as a Mortgage Advisor, I was instructed by Kerry Haugh of Mills & Reeve Solicitors to provide a financial assessment letter for one of their clients in an upcoming Divorce case.

At the time they emailed me, I was on holiday with only a few days left of my leave but they didn't really want to wait for my return and it was only because the colleague looking after my work whilst I was on leave couldn't deal with this request, they had to wait until I got back.

As soon as I was back, I dropped everything else to deal with this urgent request and spent most of the day dealing with it to turn it around in the very tight timescales they had requested.

Once I provided them with the letter they didn't even have the common decency to acknowledge receipt of the work I had done and ignored the invoice request I sent through.

Furthermore, I am still without payment for the work I have carried out! I issued the invoice on the 18th September with an invoice due date of 25th September and they have still not paid and we are now on the 23rd October! They tried to fob me off with payment by saying they need their client to pay them first before they pay me (my invoice to them is £99, so hardly thousands) but this was not mentioned in their terms when they were all too pushy when initially requesting the letter was provided urgently. Unless cash flow of £99 is a problem to this firm then I do not see why I have to wait for their client, whom I was not instructed by and have had no dealings with should pay them first before they pay me for a service they have instructed me to provide to them.

Unprofessional and aggresive

Used them for a probate/Will family dispute recently.
Was given a very inexperienced female associate who was very aggressive with her letters and legally incorrect, totally ripped our family apart and charged a premium for it. Please avoid there are far better lawyers out there

Mills & Reeve probate disputes team

I do not think I am the only person to raise concerns about the practices of Mills & Reeve's probate disputes team (Catchpole), and their practice to charge and recover very high fees when acting for plaintiffs.

No Recommendation

We approached them to help write an application to the Charity Commission.
They charged £1500 for an advice pdf which was a rehash of the free information from the charity commission with two links that didn't work and a few words added from a ten minute zoom conversation on our aims and objectives. Their second pdf - how they would handle an application and what they would and would not do with the cost - was what they should have sent first. The second pdf cost £307. We would never give such a firm £5000 for a charity application.
