Exceptional Quality, Communication needs improving
I recently published a book with Mixam. I was recommended to use them as their quality is good - and it is! Not a single issue in the 350 received so far. CANNOT fault them in this.
The issue I have is that their delivery times are estimates that are never really firmed up.
I paid for quicker delivery for my first item and it was delayed (no refund!), the next two arrived on time and the last was two days late. My issue isn't the delay - I can cope with that, it's the lack of communication. I had one email for the last delayed order (telling me it wouldn't be going out as planned) but no follow up. I shouldn't need to reach out to support. A simple email the night before helps me plan my day better. I'm tired of waiting in for a ghost delivery!
My book is scaling so fast and want Mixam to be the partner in this. I've spent £7k so far and likely will be spending a good £5k per month moving forwards. But I need a company with tighter communication.
And speaking of scaling. I order in batches of 100. I was surprised to find that if I tried to order in 150/200 that the price per unit increases significantly. I've never encountered prices per unit going UP as you order more. Stay the same? Fine. Cheaper (more common) - better. It's odd and customer support just told me that this isn't an error if they website is saying so... (If there's a reason at least communicate this!).

We're sorry that there has been a delay to the estimated dispatch date for your current order. Our system is currently saying that the order is expected to dispatch today, 10th June. However, we're looking into why this update isn't showing more clearly for us and why a revised estimated dispatch email wasn't sent, as that is very unusual. We'll investigate this further, and if anything changes today, you should receive an email notification with an update on your order status.
Regarding the pricing when increasing quantities, we'd also like to take a closer look at that for you. In some cases, the cost can be affected by production factors, such as the number of sheets required to manufacture additional copies, but we'll double check.

We understand how important it is to be kept informed, especially when you're planning around delivery dates, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Cheap print, but woeful delivery standards
The print is okay, and Mixam is probably one of the cheapest online printing companies out there. However, the delivery arrangements are ALWAYS sub-par, and inevitably leave you disappointed and disgruntled. At the time of ordering, they give you an 'estimated delivery date', but it is always wildly optimistic. I'd suggest you add on three working days to whatever they state in their estimate, and work to that timeline- then you won't be so disappointed. Your frustration will be compounded by the fact that they charge you over £8 for a next day delivery service from DPD, which is just NEVER delivered next day. For this particular order, my shipping notification came on 31st May, with an estimated delivery date of 1st June, and my order appeared on 3rd June. No explanation, no apologies - but, at least, it was only 2 days over target, so better than previous efforts at least.

We're pleased to hear that you were happy with the print quality and found our pricing competitive. However, we're sorry to learn that you were disappointed with the delivery experience.
As our products are custom made to order, the dates displayed during checkout are estimates rather than guarantees. This allows for the possibility of additional production time if required, as well as potential courier delays that are outside of our control. We also experienced a particularly busy period at the time of your order.
We can see that we contacted you by email on 27th May to advise that the estimated dispatch date had changed to 1st June. If you did not receive this notification, it may be worth checking your spam or junk folder and adding our email address to your safe sender list for future orders.
Regarding the shipping timeline, your dispatch notification was sent after 8pm on 31st May. As this was after the courier's collection window, it is unlikely that DPD would have been able to collect the parcel that evening. The parcel was therefore collected on 2nd June and delivered on 3rd June.
While we understand this was later than originally estimated, the order arrived two working days after the initial estimated delivery date. We appreciate your suggestion that customers allow a little extra time when planning important projects, particularly as courier collections do not always take place on the same day that an order is labelled and marked as dispatched, especially later in the evening.
