Liars and thieves

Liars and thieves.. that’s all what I can say.
Please, don’t use this company.
I lost £170 for nothing. They had my laptop nearly two months, they stole my original charger and said they claim that I didn’t send it! After my laptop finally arrived back and doesn’t work I went to another service, they opened my laptop and find out that they put inside the cheapest battery from eBay for £16. So I paid them £170 and my laptop is not working and no charger back.

Thieves of the year..

Mobile phone repairing doesn’t deserve a star. They are thieves and a complete rip off.

I found this company on google, My ps4 had problems with the fan, so I rang them and told them the exact problem with the PS4 Which was basically a loud fan noise then goes off after overheating, they assured me it’s common problem and they can sort it out within a few hours. I asked them the cost of the repair and the lady said 60£ and nothing more. I decided to go ahead with it, we fixed a date and they sent UPS to pick up the ps4.

the agreement was that they will send it back in 3 days max. This was early August and it’s now November. after a week and not heard anything from them, they sent me a message saying they fixed the fan problem but I need to change the hdmi port too because it is faulty, else the problem will continue, I wondered - what was the point of fixing one problem then if that wasn’t the main problem? And any decent company would inform you of any additional repairs before working on it, so you can make a decision to proceed or not, may I just add that hdmi and Over heating doesn’t even relate to each other as far I know, if I had visual or audio problems with the ps4, then that would have made a more sense. They said the hdmi port will cost an additional 40£, I told them I simply don’t have 100 pounds to spend on it. ( at this point, I didn’t realise there was a hidden 15£ vat that you wont even know about until you get to the payment page).

After a lengthy exchange or messages and calls with them, they said they can offer me a 20 pounds discount, making it 80. I still wasn’t keen on this price, but I wanted the pa4 back. I went to their website and decided to pay, and I discovered they hid their vat until you are ready to pay. which took the price back to 95£.

A responsible company would let you know the final price + VAT before their repair your item, and I honestly think their VAT is a scam to be honest, I still gone gotten my PS4 and they stopped responding to my messages and calls. I don’t trust this company, and please do not deal with this company, they are a complete fraud and very rude.

This company also trade as ELITE PHONES AND COMPUTERS, they need to get shut down ASAP and all arrested for fraud.

Worst company I have ever dealt with in every way

I dont really need to describe my experience as others have touched on it.

Please do not give any of your money to this company!

Why to avoid:

Customer service - Wont speak after they have your devices. Very rude on the phone. Have been support pages set up for victims of this company.
Quality of repair- Long story short I sent 10x Phones for screen repairs 5 were okay, 2 were returned with motherboard damage. 3 had connector issues. I sent them back and another mystically had motherboard issues and the last one I pulled out of the packaging and the screen fell off in my hand.

I could write a 12 page essay on this company, but its pointless because anyone that gets to this page will hopefully go no further.

Avoid at all costs. Try anywhere except this service.

Avoid at all costs. Try anywhere except this service.

Also trading as Elite Phones and Computers. If this is your last option, don't bother. Just recycle your phone and buy a new one because that is what you will end up doing anyway after these guys have had their hands on it.

When using a remote service like this you are relying on the integrity of the company to be honest and straight forward about the work that needs to be done and to treat your device with care. This company is unable to do either.

I had a fairly straight forward problem of the pins in the charging port of my phone being broken. On initial contact it is all very slick, you talk to someone and emails get sent out very quickly with UPS shipping labels. Its downhill after that.
- The 48 hour service. My phone was with them at least two weeks. There was a bank holiday in the middle, but still nowhere near.

- The upsell. As others have experienced in reviews I got told some other part also needs replacing and it will be another 40 quid. I refused to pay that, so they reduced to £20. I do not believe for one second there was a secondary problem with the phone.

- The result. Firstly, my phone came back with the screen and back panel all scratched. Clearly no attempt had been made to take any care. Of course, proving that and getting them to accept liability is very difficult.
Secondly, the microphone which was working fine before the phone was sent no longer worked. They, of course, said the phone was fully tested before being returned, so again, as they have no integrity, getting them to accept that they caused the problem is near impossible.

- The warranty. So to get them to look at their repair under warranty you send your device back and if they determine it is a non-warranty repair you have to pay £20 postage and £15 for 'investigation'. Its all in their Ts&Cs they keep saying...I had seen enough by this point to decide there was no way I could trust them to make an honest decision on this and was pretty certain to lose a further £35 with the microphone still not working.

In the end I wrote off the £89 they charged and bought a new phone. Trading Standards really need to look into this company because they are ripping people off.

Criminal

Sent my Moto Z for a simple battery replacement.

The sending process was the only good part of this experience...

After they received my phone it took them several days to contact me (not there quick turnaround as promised).

But as you can probably guess there was something else wrong with my phone, something to do with the battery connector and it needed replacing and they wanted to charge me another £40!
Now having fixed a few Iphones in the past the only was I knew that the this connector could get damaged was by physical damage (so they must of damaged it)

When I questioned this they said it was common with type of phone, so I did a search and could not find any info on this COMMON problem....

So I asked them to send me a picture so I could assess the damage and how it happened. And miraculously even though I had not authorised this they had fixed the phone and sealed it back up. (to hide there fraud or incompetence no doubt)

And as they put it, they would give me a £20 discount for my inconvenience!

I refused to pay the extra charge as they had no proof the damage was actually there or fixed, and I had not authorized the additional work or charge.

Eventually they agreed (as a goodwill gesture! don't make me laugh) to wave the additional charge.

So I paid the fee for the battery change and they sent my phone back.

When I got my phone, although they had actually changed the battery I think they have employed monkeys to stick the screen down as it just came away from the main unit. I sent them a message a week or so ago to ask why this was so badly done. They are still to reply...

Do not use this criminal company if you want your phone fixed properly and not have them attempt to extort more money out of you.

You have been warned....

Sent my moto x style for a battery replacment

Sent my moto x style for a simple battery replacement as it was not holding charge. I had had it for a few years so this is to be expected.

Spoke to the customer service and agreed for them to replace the battery and i sent my phone of by UPS next day delivery

After about 5 days I still had not had any updates on the battery replace so I have to call them to find out what was happening with the repair.

The customer service advised my they were checking the repair job over night:

“Hope you are doing well, please note that the device is currently under repair, we will conclude this device tomorrow morning, thanks”

When I eventually got my phone back, three days later than expected it turned on. All looked fine and was showing a full charge, however after 5 minutes it shut down and has become unresponsive and dead.

I called again to try and get a refund on the repair as they basically killed my phone. Aside from the battery not holding charge properly It was perfectly fine before their repair job and I was able to use it daily. I only had to charge it more often.

At first I thought they didn’t actually replace the battery, however further checking shows they did. I can also tell they did a factory reset. Do not know why they did this though as it did not need one.

The reply I got was:
“Hope you are doing well , please that we have replaced the battery and we are sure about it. if your device is doing that then it surely has additional issue that need checking. We can not issue a refund because we have replaced the battery as you requested. thanks”

They advised me previously that they had to check the phone to make sure it was working, so this probably took about 24 hours. Considering I died on me after 5 minutes after turning it on I do not see how they can send back my phone as repaired.

I called again and got thought to CS who claimed to be a manager and part of the repair team, which is amazing, since before I had only been able to contact the standard customer service through there bog standard contact number. While I was angry, I also found the guy I spoke to very condescending.

There repair guarantee only covers the battery replacement and nothing else, so I would have to send it back at cost and any other repairs that are needed would cost me further.

It annoys me that they sent it back as battery replaced “but not fixed”. If they had checked it after replacing the battery it would have gone dead and I would not have minded a further investigation to the repair the phone or give me the option to just have it back as is.

I found the Your Repair Status” service quiet bad as it never kept me updated. I had to call them every day to find out what was happening with the repair. Even now the when log on to the account it still shows a “make payment” and un-delivered.

Ended up buying a new phone

In order to write this review I needed…

In order to write this review I needed to calm down. I hop and wish someone will fine and close this shop.
First experience started with me asking and paying for a diagnostic. Without consent of any kind they went on "repairing" my laptop and quoting me £300. When I asked them to revert back as it is too expensive ( a new motherboard would have been £380) they did not reply asking for the money they were entitled too. I then proceeded to ask for a detailed quote on what was done ( parts, services and labour) and they sent me a quote with my customer code and the fact that it costs £250+vat.
At this point after 3 months of being with them I paid only them to tell me my laptop now can be turned on ( cause it couldn't when I sent it) but need to be always plugged to work, which is a scam as the whole point of having a laptop is mobility and availability in moments when you don't have a plug.
Of course I got the laptop back and guess what? It worked for 2 hours and stopped working again. At this point I spent 30 pounds for diagnostic, 300 for repair and another 25 to send it by royal mail fragile courier cause they weren't covering the cost.
They receive my laptop and send me a message that they can refun 50% of my money or I can wait 1 month for them to solve my laptop. So of course I hive them 1 month as i didn't want to loose 150 and so much time for nothing. After a month I contact them and they say that it is going to be another week. After that they said that their repair guy is off that week so I am made to wait another week.
In the end after 1 month and a half of waiting the second time and 4 months the first, they tell me they cannot repair or solve my laptop.
Refund me 250 pounds and they sent my £1500 Alienware laptop to my previous address, my last communication with them was to remind them to send it to my latest address. The same address from where I sent them the laptop the second time.
They are unprofessional, scamming, no good, worst company ever.

P.s. there are cringy youtube videos with people receiving back their devices worse than they sent them. How is it that no one is doing anything ??

Just DON'T do it

I wish I had looked here first... My Surface Pro needed a new battery so this bunch helpfully sent UPS to collect it. Then, after a week - so much for the 2-3 day service, eh? - they told me the screen was cracked too! What?? It was perfect when I gave it wrapped carefully in bubble wrap to UPS (with its sleeve or clip-on keyboard as this bunch didn't want them). I'm then told they would seek compensation for the screen from UPS but I agreed to pay extra in the meantime to get the screen repaired immediately so I could get the device back whilst they pursued UPS. And guess what?
Now UPS are declining to pay up and this bunch are telling me I accepted liability so it's my loss. They chose the courier, not me; they paid the courier, not me; as part of their so-called 'service', this is their responsibility but they won't accept it. What a great company. Not. AVOID.

Sent my water damaged S6 for repair

Sent my water damaged S6 for repair, despite requests for updates on diagnostics I got very vague answers. Asked for my phone to be returned 3 times but got no acknowledgement from them. Went to shop premises in Eccles and had a heated discussion with Jack who told me the phone wasn't there but was at a repair centre elsewhere. Don't believe him but willing to give him the benefit of the doubt anyway. Had to leave the shop without my phone. Paid £17.50 for diagnostics.

Do not touch this outfit.

Being held to ransom by cowboys!

This repair company lies and cheats you. Quoted for diagnostic on games console (which involved taking the battery out!) Then quoted me double for the repair. Cheaper to buy a new console!! I said no thanks, send it back. They kept replying to this, repeatedly asking to come to a deal so they could still repair the console. I kept saying no thanks, send it back please. After getting very frustrated I demanded it was sent back (I'd made it crystal clear I didnt want them to repair it) and have been waiting for 2 months. No sign of console or communication from them.Contacted them today to be suddenly sent an email saying....Good News! Your repair has been done. Just log in and make payment to receive your console back. I was furious, messaged them to be told the repair has been done without my permission 'as per their terms and conditions'. In their T&C they state they will carry out the repair if they do not get a reply to their message within 48 hours. This sentence had been added in a hurry as it had spelling mistakes and the font was a different size to the rest! Now I know why they kept repeatedly replying and wouldn't take no for an answer! Waiting for me to ignore them so they could carry out the repair and they could try to extort money from me.You dont get their replies unless you go on the website to check your messages anyway! Complete fraudsters and cheats! Currently holding my console to ransom and won't return unless I pay for the repair I said I didn't want... 8 TIMES!!!!! Am informing trading standards and Watchdog. Complete fraudsters. They rely on the fact that you will get fed up and pay. AVOID like the plague. Also known as Elite Phones & Computers LTD.
UPDATE...They are now telling me their T&C's entitle them to carry out any repair under £150. I have rung Citizens Advice Consumer helpline and lodged a complaint. What they are doing is a breach of contract and against the law. It's been passed to Trading Standards. Please report this company if the same has happened to you.

These people are terrible - dont use them

I sent my phone with a cracked screen to them for repair on a promise of 72 hour turnaround. Three and a half weeks later I cancelled the order and asked them to return it as they were then saying it would be another week to get parts! Their message board told me it had been shipped and I would get it on Tuesday - on Thursday i got a demand for payment for "diagnostics" for £9.99.
DONT USE THIS COMPANY!!
NB they also seem to trade under Elite Phones AND Phones and Computers

Promised a turnaround of 72 hours

Promised a turnaround of 72 hours. Took 5 days before their courier delivered the phone to them. Said my phone was unfixable but still wanted to charge full price for fitting a new part. Refused to honour the quote they gave me saying that the price I was quoted was a mistake and too low. In the end took out the part and charged me £10 for servicing. So cost me £30, including the £20 for postage, for lots of agro, a week of wasted time and a still broken phone. Wish I'd seen the above reviews before sending my phone there. My advice...Avoid, avoid, avoid!!

25 years of trading and dealing with different companies in different trades in the UK, and I never experienced terrible service like this one. Short.. Small crack on my mobile phone and I been waiting for 72 days for return. They just didn't fix the screen, they managed to completely brake down lcd trying to take it out, scratches all over the phone. They did not admit any of wrongdoing and told me to go to court if I wont.

They are the worst repair company in …

They are the worst repair company in the country!!! Do not be fooled by Thier flash website. They don't do any of the things they say on Thier website. I sent my phone with a cracked screen was quoted £50 they wanted another £20 for postage there and back. They said it would take a few days, it took them two weeks, when I got it back the screen was loose and they had broken one of the speakers and left out the front flash. I sent it back demanding it be fixed, they demanded another £20 to post it. When it got there a week later, they messaged me that the battery was broken and they would need another £30 to fix it. Obviously I didn't pay either the post or the battery, and just demanded it be sent back. It turns out it is easy to replace the screen of my phone, when I opened it I found they had also left out half the screws holding the screen in place as well as some rubber cable holders.
They are SCAMMERS and should be put out of business by trading standards!!!

SERIOUSLY AVOID

They wanted to take 120 pounds VAT exclusive to put a new power board into my PS4. Fine, that's their price. I knew I can get this part for 40 pounds tops. I asked to return the item to me. So they said that I can have a 10% discount if I want to carry on with the repair. I said no. Next thing I know is I get a message saying that the repair is completed under terms and conditions. Strange, so I asked to put my faulty part back in and send it to me, I paid 24.50 for the diagnosis after all. I FELT LIKE I'M SPEAKING TO A WALL. The guy kept saying about terms and conditions, you must pay and so on. He didn't say anything at all when I asked to put my faulty part back. I WILL RATHER SPEND 10,000 pounds than give those people a penny!!! If anyone's interested I can send a screenshot of this ridiculous conversation.

Sent my phone in for a suspected faulty battery (their diagnosis), the phone came back damaged with controls not working. They insisted I pay for it to be returned (and sent back to me) to be fixed "as per T&C's" So I pay for them NOT checking their own work? When the phone came back second time it had been "fixed" with superglue not the correct adhesive pads, two screws and a cover-plate missing. The original charging fault is still there as well not sure i want to send the phone back as i have no idea what they will break next!
