Modish Living Furniture LTD Reviews 

It didn't start well when on the day of delivery, my table and bench arrived with...just the bench. Several phone calls later, I am told my table can't be located and there's "an investigation" going on to hunt it down. In fairness to Modish, they arranged for a replacement to be sent a day or two later but it wasn't the ideal way to start things and was certainly a sign of what was to come!

When the table arrived, it all felt rather disappointing; despite being quite expensive, it seemed more like something you'd pick-up in The Range for a few hundred quid and there were other things about it I didn't like; the indentations down the table aren't very suitable for a dining table (they'll quickly get clogged-up and this wasn't very clear in the photos where it certainly looks a lot more expensive and plush!!) and the sizing, once put together, wasn't quite right for where I needed it. I should take some responsibility, of course; buying online always comes with drawbacks, but I hadn't realised the follow-up support would be so poor. See, the table hadn't been 'used' (just assembled which had taken all of a few minutes and I could easily take the legs back off) so I wrongly assumed I could return it - the website displays: "If you change your mind about your purchase when you receive it, you have up to 14 days to return it for a full refund. Should you need your drivers to come and pick it up for you, a small charge will apply...."

(in fact, Modish are compelled to offer a refund or exchange for selling unsuitable goods online by law so they're really not giving you anything they're not legally compelled to do anyway!).

However, this only tells part of the tale. Dig deeper onto the site (you need to go to a different link) and it seems that the item needs to be returned completely in 'undamaged packaging,' meaning, well, it would be pretty-much impossible to ever establish the suitability of what you had ordered when it comes to furniture of this type. Regarding the 'small charge' to return it, trust me, small it isn't! But, seeing as I'd made the error of opening the box to inspect the items, I was stuck with it now.

Frustratingly, I'd taken the deliberate decision to use a smaller company when ordering the items. Now I wish I hadn't as ordering something from the likes of Amazon or John Lewis etc would have led to a far more sensible exchange policy as opposed to the amateur-night I was now faced with. I sent a few emails to them; I didn't really want the hassle of selling the item through ebay etc so suggested an exchange and I'd pay the difference etc for a more suitable table. Nope, nope, it's opened, there's nothing we can do etc was all I got back.

So, onto ebay or Facebook marketplace the table goes.

All rather shoddy support really; I tried to find a solution but they didn't want it and I'd really encourage people to go elsewhere. The support was, I felt, poor and the items I've received are a disappointment; I should take some responsibility for ordering online and also not doing more research about the company etc but you live and learn...

I love my new tv cabinet: exactly as pictured and described and came when expected, with great communication for delivery. The only thing I can say that could be improved is the size of the holes in the back could have done with being a touch bigger to fit plugs through (not sure whether Modish Living can control that though...and I ended up just making the holes a bit bigger myself which wasn’t too much hassle).
