Really pains me that this site is closing down at the end of the month. Had been happily using this for many years and built up a valuable history - all of which will now be deleted.
Time to start looking for alternatives!

I would prescribe this site to everybody. I prescribe it to anybody who needs to acquire recurring, automated revenue from home.

I was attracted by good reviews (obviously pre-2022, I now see). The app worked fine for a short while, then I couldn't log in. Support helped on two emails, then radio silence. For two weeks. No response to messages, emails, or phone messages (tellingly, the main number only takes messages). I've now laboriously disconnected my accounts from the app, but the reviews should be updated. Seems another victim of a good app killed by private equity.

Very disappointed to see the negative reviews here, wonder if they relate to the legacy version. I signed up for the latest version Neon and have been very pleasantly surprised how good it is for a free product. Couldn't connect two of my bank accounts, contacted MD support who supplied a detailed error message that the bank was returning. This helped me resolve the issue quickly. The product just works, giving us an amazing insight into our finances with the minimum of effort. There's a whole list of features I'd like to see added, but I suspect they'll appear in the course of time.
Reassuring that the company is based in the UK, Edinburgh, and is regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority.

I have no connection with anybody in this company, I'm just a very happy user.

Notice how all the reviews here, until ~2021, got a reply. That's not happening any more.
They closed the forum. The latest version of the app for Android/iPhone is from 14/15 December 2021.
All this seems related to it being sold to ClearScore.

You miss some features, but it works fine, you can still use it. But it's very unclear what plans ClearScore has for Money Dashboard. I can't recommend it because I can't say if Money Dashboard will still exist 12 months from now. And this is the kind of app in which you accumulate a lot of investment making sure the categorization of all the expenses is correct, you don't want to lose that investment if the app disappears, or it becomes so obsolete that you want to switch anyway.

Used to be a decent app, but they sold the business in early 2022 and development has ceased on both the classic and neon apps. Very disappointing.

Money Dashboard is the best banking aggregator/personal spend management app on the UK market. I've used various different apps and Money Dashboard (both Classic & Neon) are by the far the most intelligent for categorising transactions and show the most useful information for actually managing your spend.

The best part about the app (on both web and phone) is that they are not trying to sell you financial products or other services, and are instead just focusing on providing a solid money management experience.

Keep it up, Money Dashboard team and don't sell out. I would happy pay a monthly subscription than have the product ruined by advertisments for financial products or services.

I've been using what's now called Classic since 2010 (12 years) and I still use it several times a week. I depend on the planner for most of my financial forecasting, especially during this cost of living crisis. Unfortunately it was replaced by Neon some time ago, and I dread the day they pull the plug on Classic.

Neon, in its current state, is useless to me. The incredibly useful Planner was replaced by a schedule that consists only of repeating pattern of previous transactions. You can't plan for anything that hasn't happened before, can't change future payment amounts, can't add one-off income or expenses... Rubbish.

I've seen previous replies from 2.5 years ago saying Neon is in a very early stage of development. It still is! I know there's been a pandemic, but I don't see any sign of ongoing development. I really hope it at least one day equals Classic in terms of functionality.

Spend categorisation is super-annoying as it randomly groups together completely unrelated transactions

With some cards every time you have to re-authenticate - you end up duplicating all transactions - so you have to remove and re-connect (and reclassify) transactions. It’s extremely frustrating and time consuming which is the opposite of what I was looking for.

Although I liked that Money Dashboard allows me to rename or put a note on my ad-hoc transactions but it completely messes my reporting with incorrect categories

The mobile app is slow, reclassifying transaction very painful, every click response is slow.

The web UI misses basic features like sorting transaction by size, vendor etc - making reclassification easier.
It basically seems half finished.

Was finding it somewhat helpful to account for different areas of spending. Not being able to account accurately for credit card purchases with payment in the future was annoying though. Today however I've noticed that it hasn't brought through all of my transactions so it makes it a pretty pointless tool. Waste of time getting it all set up. As others have said there is no support working on issues, tickets just seem to vanish into the abyss.

This product is a joke. If you're lucky enough that it just works for you then it's good product. However, if it goes wrong (for example completely refusing to recategorise payments) then the support is non-existent. I have been waiting since 19 April for a response to my problem. I have been promised one and nothing happens. The product is clearly buggy and they have no interest in helping or retaining users. I do not see this succeeding long term.

Summary; great for my use case, which is categorising transactions and exporting to csv for further analysis.

I’ve started using money dashboard a week ago. After spending some time refining the categories (some transactions are not well categorised) it has become very useful. The app learned my categorisation rules fairly well. The insights are okay but require some filters and lacking some more useful breakdowns and plots. The export to CSV feature is great and I’ve set up a script with my own analysis to run over it

I've used Money Dashboard classic for years and it's been amazing. As a lover of tech tools and working in the industry myself I was excited to see a new version. I initially liked the new interface and the new features but they've removed the one part which really set classic apart from the competition and that was planner. For those giving reviews who had not used Classic or this feature to it's full capacity don't know what they're missing. Planner gives you the ability to track future regular payments and add one off additional ones. Once set up which only takes a few minutes it will roll for years so I could see how my actions now would affect my future spending. With this not in Neon it makes it useless for me. I keep coming back since the launch in the hope it had been added but I'm still waiting :(

The app is pretty ok. However their support isnt. I have had problems where one of scheduled ( not future, but past) transaction shows up in "Overview" but not in "Spending" that led to discrepancies. You would think that the support would help you. But their response was scheduled transactions dont show in spendings which is completely untrue. I told them that and after that it has been days and I did not get any response from them
This app also does not connect to HL and the new Chase UK, which is a big downside. I am thinking to switch to a different app.
It's a shame that the app has such great analytics features but an absolutely trash support.

The inability to schedule flexible future payments (credit card payments, etc) makes future budgeting useless.

By far this is the best money aggregator app and website available in the UK right now. I have tried many other apps and this has a clean interface and allows me to see all my accounts (available through Open Banking) clearly. There is also the option to add off-line accounts if your bank doesn't yet offer Open Banking capability. Great features include being able to recategorise transactions and change the date of them too (great if your bank keeps them pending for a few days) and the budgeting features are great. It takes a bit of time to set up all your accounts and categorise everything but it is definitely worth it. For a free app this is great value.
