Quality, reliability & simplicity

I use Monmouth for 'subscription coffee'. I signed up for a year and they send me a pack of coffee beans every 2 weeks. The process was easy and the quality is great. When I'm on holiday I just email and they pause the subsrciption whilst I'm away. All very simple. Highly recommend.

Simple, no-fuss, wonderful coffee!

No gimmicks, no flashy marketing, and no try-hard ‘lifestyle’ branding—just genuinely great coffee. Of all the UK roasters I’ve tried (including the so-called top-rated ones), Monmouth stands out as the best. It’s become my go-to for consistently high-quality, fully traceable coffee that’s both diverse in flavour and reasonably priced. The team at Monmouth really are a hidden gem in the UK coffee scene!

Perfect coffee; perfect delivery experience

Having bought a bean to cup machine I did a little research into coffee roasting companies and made my first order with Monmouth on Christmas Eve. Delicious coffee was delivered on the 27th December- pretty amazing service over the Christmas period. The coffee is delicious. I loved being able to try a few different varieties by ordering the smaller 100g bags- all of which have been a delight so far. I will be using Monmouth again.

Our favourite coffee for few years now

Our favourite coffee for few years now. We are thrilled we can buy/order to enjoy at home on a daily basis. Delivery can be disappointing as it is Royal Mail, but that is independent of the seller.

Undoubtedly the finest coffee roaster…

Undoubtedly the finest coffee roaster in the UK and I say this having been exploring this subject for 25 years. No I don't work there, but honestly these guys have taken it to the next level. Only annoying thing is the Covent Garden cafe is so small you can hardly ever get a table.

A Total Disappointment

Very good coffee (ground) only if it is freshly roasted and within 2-3 days. This is when it is at its peak in terms of taste and quality. After that the taste starts to deteriorate rapidly. Most unfortunately getting freshly roasted coffee at Monmouth has become a challenge and a frustration. At times, the coffee for sale was 9 days old and the manager has categorically refused to sell from the fresher batch. She said that's the company's policy and instructions to use up the old stock. A totally unprofessional and unreasonable. Make your targets sales realistic, stop roasting more than what the market wants/needs and do stop disrespecting the clients. Shame on you!

No cups to go … ridiculous

Walked 20 minutes to the Soho store today and queue was out the door on a Wednesday afternoon. After waiting another 10mins to place my order I was informed it was not possible to take my coffee away unless I pay for a £5 reusable cup. One of the most ridiculous rules I have ever seen introduced. Won’t be returning.

Best tasting coffee I had in London

My son and I had gone out of our way to visit this coffee after searching for what the best coffee shops were in London. We arrived at this store which was on a really nice posh street. The look of the store with the seating area outside of it is beautiful. Bit of a queue to get in to the shop but it was swift. I waited literally less than 5mins to place my order. Super friendly staff, nice selection of coffee that they'll make you or coffee beans you can take home with you. Properly made coffee in a v60 and it was so good! They also have a nice selection of cakes.
Bit of a struggle to find seating outside but it just goes to show how popular this coffee shop is. Defo my go to coffee shop when I visit London again.

Unbeatable

Monmouth Coffee is undeniably our top pick for coffee. Whether served to guests or enjoyed solo, its exceptional quality always shines through. We used to buy in-store when we lived in London, but since moving, their reliable mail-order service ensures we don't miss out.

There's a reason it's our go-to coffee; simply put, it's the best.

The best coffee you can buy

I have been buying coffee from Monmouth Coffee for the best part of 20 years. In the store in Monmouth Street, whilst I lived in London, and by post since I moved to Wiltshire. In my view their products cannot be bettered by any other supplier and their service by post is first class.

They area hidden jem. I should have posted this years ago, my apologies to them for not doing so.

Good coffee

Despite I prefer trying different roasters, I have ordered five or six times from Monmouth so far. Good coffee and great customer service. Once I wasn't sure why my coffee beans don't look like I expected them to, and in a couple of days received a polite and informative letter with an explanation about the different types of roasting and coffee processing which was quite interesting.

They don't have a free delivery service, unfortunately. But this company has a big advantage: the packing can be made not only in standard 250 gr bags but in 100 gr as well. What is great for testing when you're not sure which coffee you would like more in the future.

Monmouth Coffee Company, Borough Market

Even as a non-Coffee drinker who only buys Coffee takeaway for mother, I am very impressed by the variety of different coffees that are available at Monmouth throughout the year. There is bound to be a coffee flavour profile for everyone’s taste from the fuller bodied, heavier roasts from Brazil to the lighter, fruitier and crisper styles of coffees from other countries, from single farms and often from single varietals. The staff are really friendly, they genuinely seem happy to be there, talk about coffee, give you their descriptions and tasting notes and you can buy almost any quantity you want for takeaway. I always buy 100g bags grinded to the specification I need and wouldn’t dare bothering them for any lesser quantity. A very good experience overall.
