I registered my CV with Monster to look…
I registered my CV with Monster to look for work, obviously as we all expect your CV is reviewed automatically, low and behold the following morning surprise, surprise, you're bombarded with emails from Monster to inform you that your current CV doesn't match the automated job search tools used by employers looking for applicants, obviously, they give you 3 overpriced options of upgrading your CV for a better chance of being chosen for employment.
I choose the most costly option (adverting to upgrade my Linkedin account) thinking it would better my chances, after paying £260.00 and filling out a simple survey of questions I was assigned to a writer called Zachary, who upgraded my CV condensing it into one page and added a few fancy words, wrote a simple cover letter and sent it for review, disappointedly they hadn't even included accolades that make my career standout as a professional, after pointing out the upgrades I wanted included it took a further 3 days to resend the documentation ... because I was disappointed I accepted what was sent thinking I would rewrite it myself.
Importantly what I wanted more than anything else was the upgraded Linkedin account however to my dismay and totally shock my Linkedin account has been closed and suspended (have no idea why), so Ive paid the healthy sum of £260 for a CV, Cover Letter and have my LinkedIn account closed and suspended.
Monster is exactly what they call it ... "Monster" a complete waste of money that was extortionately priced for utter rubbish.
The people that work for Monster are scammers charging over priced charges for work that is not worth the money paid.
Disappointed and let down and I have no way of fixing up my Linkedin account
As a recruiter I can only agree with…
As a recruiter I can only agree with the comments already written, We signed up in Feb on a 12th month contract but unfortunately due to Covid we had to close for 3 months, All the other jobs boards we use have been flexible with freezing our account and delaying payment except for Monster who have hounded us for payment constantly even threatening us with legal proceedings as we were a little late paying them one month due to cash flow, the CVs are beyond out of date and the actual job postings gain little or irelevant responses. I am not in the habit of giving bad reviews but I feel very strongly about this, their behaviour has been appalling to say the least, believe me there are far better jobs sites out there.
Scam!!! Total waste of time and money, avoid!
Awful services, no traffic on their website, terrible customer service...total waste of time and money. Avoid! Scam!!!
Scam
Their website is outdated, and has no traffic. We were unfortunately missold into signing a one year contract with this scam company, and we get on average 1-10 applications per add. A total waste of time and money.
Scammers delight 👍🏽
Old database
Appalling! Warning - Stealth Charges.
Appalling!
WARNING! Sneakily stealth added charges for our advertisement and debited the money straight from our account for services we did not want or check tick boxes for.
I will never use Monster again and will never recommend them to any of the companies or business people I deal with.
I contacted them the very day afterwards and they could do nothing about it, I suspect they did not want to,
The CV match is a joke too, how can you match candidates to a job which stipulates a language which the candidate cannot speak?
WARNING
WARNING, WARNING, WARNING
Signed with Monster 2017 for one year, you Know its a bad company when your have no rights or get out clause that should ring alarm bells - What a disaster. CV's were diabolical even sent CV's that had been on their database since 2003. The IT platform is antiquated.
Utter con
Terrible customer service will not be…
Terrible customer service will not be renewing. Their staff have a terrible attitude and most applications I have received through them are not at all a match for the job posted.
Pathetic
Terrible Account Manager, practically non-existent and forever on annual leave or out of the office. The few applications that we do receive are totally irrelevant and the comparison with the other job boards in terms of ROI is pathetic.
Avoid - Poor Results, Poor Rervice and Poor Business Practices
We used Monster to recruit self employed sales people. We also used another company at the same time so we had 2 job boards running.
After a week or two there was zero response so we contacted Monster. They said the advert was bady written so we redrafted it and still no response (despite the other, smaller, job board giving us plenty of responses - with the same 'badly written' advert). We complianed again and no response at all this time, so after 6 weeks we said we wanted to cancel and pay for the 6 weeks we were on their 'invisible' job board.
Monster said we were tied into a 6 month contract and that we had to pay for 6 months. We responded stating our dissatisfaction at results and service and reiterated the offer to pay pro rata (which we think is more than fair, bearing in mind the service delivered zero!!!), it was refused.
They have passed the 'debt' to a debt agency who, we believe (but may be wrong), have registered our company as a slow payer (even though we fastidiously pay all our invoices on orinside the due date). This has caused our credit rating to drop from 83 to 20 overnight.
I cannot speak lowly enough about Monster, their service, their bullying and their business practices.
COLD CALLED PERSISTENTLY!
Cold called persistently by Monster.co.uk over several years. I have told them on numerous occasions we don't need their services and to stop calling. They ignore my requests and also appear to ignore the fact we are both TPS and CTPS registered (which is a legal requirement).
I have now been forced to report them to the ICO in attempt to stop them calling us and having the same conversations repeatedly.
Obviously, Monster.co.uk choose to flout the law surrounding data protection which is a deep concern considering Monster deals with peoples personal and employment information!
DO NOT USE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Promise you the earth, any applications are not relevant to the job. CV matches sent when job ad has been completed are completely irrelevant. CV's not been updated for some time ..... completely miss-sold the package. better responses from posting free job ads .......... DO NOT USE
Absolutely unbelievable company I too …
Absolutely unbelievable company I too was sucked in by sales lady telling me hundreds of candidates in my sector are registered with Monster - signed up and here I am 7 months later have not seen a single CV that is remotely anything to do with the jobs I advertise for - I am so fed up with 'CV's from other countries that are nothing to do with childcare, or 'CVS' that Monster deem to think 'match' my jobs. No matter how much I discuss this with my Account Manager, who incidentally, agrees that there are no candidates in my sector, nothing changes apart from the vicious emails from the Accounts Department, including one guy who personally verbally attacked me for non payment of the account. This company really need to take a long hard look at what they are providing. DONT EVER SIGN UP WITH MONSTER
