A great day out full of beautiful scenery on top of the North Yorkshire Moors and charming villages. Whitby is a lovely place full of character and fresh fish and chips. Plenty to see and Jet jewellery shops in the old town. Steep steps down from the old Abbey ruins but spectacular views from the top of the coastline. John P ? gave us a commentary all the way with fascinating facts on history and geography and humorous stories. No steam train as too late in the year unfortunately. Definitely recommend this trip and company as have been on tours with them in the Lake District
Today has been the very best day for many years. I have seen the most amazing views, and met the most wonderful people. Tony (Steve Harvey lookalike!) was an absolute gem as our driver. Thank you so much for making the whole day entertaining and interesting. I can't wait to do it all again in summer!
Mountain Goat - All Creatures Great & Small tour this October, 2024 was absolutely the best day ever! Our guide John was so informative. He reviewed Yorkshire history and tied it into the place names we drove through, explained the topography, the reasons there are hawthorn hedgerows in some areas and stone walls in others. We saw sites where All Creatures was filmed. John navigated the most narrow of roads carefully and stopped for photos at many breathtakingly beautiful spots. I cannot wait to go on another Mt Goat tour! I would never have seen or learned as much just driving myself.
My only recommendation is that they add Harrogate as a starting point of tours. The town is always full of visitors who would appreciate the convenience of boarding the bus in Harrogate as well as the top notch service Mountain Goat provides!
We took the tour, North Yorkshire Moors and Whitby Day Tour from York, on Tuesday 1st Oct., and it was brilliant - in spite of the weather! Our driver John S was very knowledgable and entertaining. It was a vile day (weatherwise) but John kept us all entertained, His knowledge was amazing. I would not hesitate to book with this company again.
My two friends and I recently did the Roman Britain and Hadrian's Wall tour with Mountain Goat. What a lovely tour it was, our driver was so caring, knowledgeable and friendly. The minibus was brand new and super clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this tour, so interesting and Vindolanda Fort was wonderful to see too.
Thank you so much for this company !!
it was very fantastic. We booked very smooth
no hassle .
I can highly recommend!!
Paul was fantastic. Took the Lake district tour from Manchester. We could not fault it in any way. He was informative, a fantastic driver & is a credit to your company. If we want to do any more trips like this will definitely be using them again.
Our guide for the 10 lakes tour was Peter Fox. He is really wonderful and knowledgeable. He made the trip so much more interesting.

The minivan that took us for the 10 lake tours was on time, clean, and very spacious. Tim was our guide and he made the experience wonderful. He was cheerful, very energetic and even gave us samples of the best gingerbread I have ever tasted. We stopped by at most of the lake although not all, some we see a glimpse through the van. Tim is the real GOAT (Greatest of all Time). Thank you so much from Rossa and Ikram. P.S. I remembered so many of the facts Tim shared 😊 He was a great storyteller.
We recently completed the 8 Lakes Spectacular Tour with Dereck. Glad we booked this tour as Dereck’s witty and knowledge about the area made the event the highlight of our holiday. We came back having learned so much about the Lake District. Dereck, you are star Sir.

The 10 lakes tour is a way to see a large area of the stunningly beautiful Lake District in one day.
Our guide/driver, Dave, was excellent and took us to spots which I doubt that we would ever have found if left to our own devices.
I recently took a ten lake tour with Mountain goat and what a wonderful experience it was,I saw the Lake District as I had never seen it before and learnt things I never knew all due to the wonderful tour guide Tim what he didn’t know wasn’t worth knowing,we stopped at various stages of the tour to take pictures of the spectacular views and had a leisurely stop in Keswick where we had our lunch, our final stop was in one of my favourite places in the Lakes Grasmere and that was the end of our wonderful Lakes tour. I recommend this excursion to anyone visiting Windermere and make sure your driver is Tim he was knowledgeable,an excellent driver and good fun thrown in for good measure.
I enjoyed the tour which was from Manchester to Lake District for one day tour and Tom, the driver also the guide was amazing. The customer service were very kind and helpful.
Mark Shipley was our guide through Wales last week. There were just four in our tour group on a bus that holds 16. It was like having a private tour. We all loved Mark: so professional — always wore a tie and matching vest— and he had a great sense of humor and a wealth of knowledge he shared with us. It was obvious to our group that he loved his job and had our best interests at heart. I hope you have the opportunity to have Mark as your guide!

We recently booked a half day tour around the Lake District with Mountain Goat Tours as it was our first time visiting the Lake District.
Our tour guide Derek was fab from start to finish. We were picked up from a location near to where we were staying and saw some amazing sites that we otherwise wouldn’t have been able to locate ourselves in the time that we had.
Derek was really friendly and kept us engaged with his humour and by providing a lot of useful background information about the different locations. The views from the tour were spectacular. Derek stopped at many of sites allowing us to walk around and take photos of the amazing panoramic views and he also offered a help in hand in taking some photos for us!
It was a great tour all round and would really recommend for anyone visiting the Lake District for the first time.

We had a great time with a wonderful tour guide Gary, he has been patient right from the start, considering we were running late because our trains were cancelled from Nottingham to Manchester Piccadilly.
Gary , as a guide first was friendly, gave a lot of information on the areas we covered and was a lovely person to say.
And ofcourse, we were planning right from the beginning to take a tour with this travel agency and we were happy with what we got and what we expected.
It was a calming, relaxing half day afternoon tour from Manchester, which ofcourse not to forget ended with a scone and cream tea session at a wonderful hotel.
Almost all the places covered were absolutely spot on , serene and fantastic, not much crowds, good one consisting of Windermere lake, bowness, tarnhows, Wray castle , coniston water and hawks head....so yes it was an absolutely lovely tour.
Thanks mountain goat for a splendid trip before we head back to India and ofcourse thanks to Gary , a wonderful tour guide once again ☺️👍👏.
