This is my first purchase after having a terrible online experience on a used guitar at a competitor. This was far superior even though the price was a little more. I received notification immediately... See more

I ordered a used mustang squire HH, a white one. I only payed 144 dollars all together. Excellent deal. It's a good guitar, I'm a Gibson person with an epiphone budge. My last guitar I had I got from y'all was a epiphone explorer. The inspired by Gibson one. My sister died 3 days ago and I launched it against my cabinets, destroying it. It wasn't a great choice but I did it lol. I had it for 5 years and it sounded so good. I took the good electronics and put them in he mustang, along with the Grovers. I also found use for this ridiculously small chopsaw my neighbor has and cut a little a slice off the graphtech material from the nut to upgrade the mustang more. I had a mojotone 44 mag bridge PU as well. I burned myself too many times and my cat burned his nose a little tiny bit on the soldering iron so I gave up and just soldered the pickup directly to the input. I was rushing because I was just trying to keep my mind off my sister.lol I'll wire it properly. I would suggest anybody make this guitar, Eric (i believe his name was, I'm on my phone and it won't let me go back and look at his name) is a good dude. The bridge saddle posts are stripped out so the height won't stay if you press on it. He was just really nice. I've just not had a great holiday. I really appreciate it. He was in the same kind of music I like, I don't know if you ever heard of the sounds of animals fighting but you should listen to them if you're reading this. Earlier the better play the whole album.

Musician's Friend AGAIN sent me a used item: the bases and one pole have deep paint scratches and scuff marks (the pole scratch was down to bare metal), and they reek of cigarette smoke! It's not worth sending back, but if MF keeps treating their customers this way, they will eventually go out of business. The receipt of customer returned items (sold as new) has happened on quite a few past shipments.

So far, only negative experience I've had is the tracking number and email is not working. This
needs to be addressed asap.
Edit: The number I used for tracking wasn't the tracking number, it was the order number. The company never sent me a tracking number until tonight. Order is supposed to be delivered tomorrow 1/7/2026.
Edit: 2 Thanks so much for your response. It is duly noted and appreciated. And I did receive my order today around 12:40pm PST. Again, thank you.

I paid for 2 brand new powered speakers but the package came from a store instead of a warehouse. Also one of the package was damaged and the other unit came with the manufacturer package without a packing box. In one of my previous conversations it was brought to my attention by one of your reps that units from store are most likely a demo or used unit. There are reviews that also echo the same fact that customers received demo or used units from store instead of brand new items from a warehouse.

Very Untruthful and patronizing liars!
Bought a used mixer that they swore had been checked out. As soon as I plugged it in, the lighted buttons started shorting out. Half the assignment buttons wouldn't even depress or come back out. This after they lost my sales ticket and didn't ship it for DAYS after the sale. They had no record on file of my purchase! Still waiting for my refund. They will tell you ANYTHING to get you to make a purchase. Tried to buy another mixer supposedly "open box" turned out to be USED and had none of the incidentals that were supposed to be included. This I was told after I bought it and got the tracking number. Of course it really wasn't shipped just labeled. I cancelled nearly a thousand dollar order and told them to cram it! BTW, MF and Guitar Center are affiliated. One is as bad as the other!
NEVER AGAIN! I'll pay the extra to buy from Sweetwater. They can be trusted and have real tech support. It takes literally SECONDS for them to take your payment, and then over TEN DAYS to get your refund!! Real honest to God scammers! Over two weeks later and I still don't have my refund! What a patronizing response from them. AS IF they would do anything besides endless patronizing!

Received your email about the available points I had. Needed some pouch holders for some of my mouthpieces, so why not. Had a good deal and the points made it even better. Thank you.

This company sold the guitar as advertised, with a case, unlike Guitar Center.

My gear advisor, Delaney Brown, she is what makes my MF experience great, along with the gear offered.
She is so kind and helpful. I can't say enough good things about her.
I really wish MF was a Hartke dealer. But, ya can't satisfy everyone.
Thanks for the quick shipping of my great products!

Eric Eldridge was personable, knowledgeable and professional. He was very easy to speak with and had great suggestions on various Seymour Duncan pick ups. Looking forward to next purchase!

Simmons (Musicians Friend) went above and beyond for me today so I wanted to share my experience. My son started taking drum lessons this year and to start him off I bought him a used Simmons SD350 kit, he has really dedicated himself to the craft so for Christmas I wanted to get him a new kit. Since Simmons is such a great brand and I myself bought a TD-70 kit from Musicians Friend earlier this year I decided to have him keep his pads and just upgrade his module to the TD-50. I bought a used one online and it arrived quickly but to my dismay the pads were not working properly with the kit. I called Simmons Customer Care and the gentleman on the other line said that I would need a new breakout/snake cable for the TD-50 to work properly. I asked if they would be able to sell me a replacement cable and he put me on hold well he checked the inventory. The hold time was fairly long due to the holiday week but when he came back not only did he let me know he had one in stock but also that he found my Musicians Friend account and since they own Simmons he wanted to send me the replacement cable for free, even covering shipping. He also apologized for the hold time. This was A++ Customer Service and going above and beyond for the customer. I thank Musician's Friend so much for being such a wonderful company and taking care of your customer's. This made my New Year!!!

Back on 12/1/25 ordered 5 items. One of those items (Lock-It Straps 2" Locking Guitar Strap Green
Item: M02152000006000) was in stock ("5 remaining!") but ended up being backordered. Not a problem as I figured I must have dilly-dallied with completing my cart, and other people beat me to the punch. By the time I entered my payment info, MF had sold out of it. No big whoop, I got an email letting me know that I wouldn't be charged for that item until it shipped. My other four items were received in a couple of days to my North Carolina home.
Now the problem...
On 12/31/25 (30 days later) I got an email from MF telling me the strap still hasn't shipped and there was no date provided on when it would ship. They said that they would email me in the future (no date given) on when it would ship.
The take-home message: Beware of any items at Musician's Friend that say "backordered" (or even "5 items remaining!") as it could be one LONG wait without any meaningful updates on when (if?) your order will ship. For my own part, I am not too chuffed about a backorder for a guitar strap. They DID reach out to me, although it contained no hard date estimation, they at least acknowledged my missing item was still known about. I wrote this so that others who might be planning a gift for others, or needed a part or accessory that was mission critical would know what they are getting into.
UPDATE January 8, 2026...
I replied to Musician's Friend and received information about the estimated shipping window for my locking guitar strap. While that date is unfortunately in the future, they did take the time to reach me, and provide me more info. Courteous and professional correspondence.
I have updated my rating from 2 stars to 4 stars. (Still missing one star due to MF not having the anticipated shipping date on the item's page so I could make an informed decision when I ordered it.)
UPDATE Jan, 24 2026 = Item received! Added a fifth star. Although Musician's Friend did not put an anticipated shipping date on any email or webpage, the item did arrive in under two months. They do care, but it takes you contacting them to get best results.

I had ordered two Gretsch guitar cases that ended up on backorder until April. Your Rep Hope Wilberger contacted me by email offering to help me with the situation. She was able to find another case that would be available (hopefully) Jan 5th. Over the phone she was able to cancel the two previous orders and place a new order. She was courteous, professional and very pleasant to work with. A real asset to your company.

Reasonable price and, frankly, the only major vendor who had the product in stock. (I didn't check Amazon.) The Chat user-interface was pretty good and I got the results that I wanted in a professional and efficient manner. (Way to go Justin K.)
