Useless company

Useless company, WASTE OF MONEY (A LOT). Not adhere to court timings, paid for them thousands of pounds including widmark report which was not done and they not done it and not provided to the court. Promising much but not give you any value. Cost me £1500 at the beginning for "preparation and representation " when on 1st hearing you can go yourself and just said "not guilty". Then please look for proper solicitors not this time and money wasters...waste around 5k and received nothing but driving ban...

You were represented at court on 20/09/24 at Cannock Magistrates Court when the case was adjourned for trial on 14/07/25.

You were chased for payment of fees towards the next hearing for 10 months but you did not place us in funds for work to continue after the initial file review.

You advised on 20/11/24 you would pay the agreed initial payment but failed to do so.

You then sent an email shortly before the trial on 04/07/25 at follows

‘Due to my critical financial situation is it possible that I won’t be able to pay any fees before Court trial. Can I get a free solicitor on trial if this happens?’

We offered to defer some fees until after trial but you replied as follows

‘Unfortunately I’m not able to pay this fees’

We then withdrew from the case.

You are invited to withdraw your review as it bears no resemblance to the reality of what took place in your case.

For the benefit of readers we have set out further information about the firm below.

We are the one of the very few, if not the only solicitors in the country dealing in drink driving related cases and nothing else with thousands of cases since 2009.

One lawyer has 100% success rate with the firm over 3 years (see our website for more details).

We charge a fraction of the fees of other motoring lawyers as we believe in providing a service for all budgets not just VIP clients.

We wish you well for the future and hope to hear from you soon about your review so we can resolve your issues.

Bust case

Just wanted to leave a review on NML.

My case was dealt professionally to the highest standards.
All though my cass dragged on for around 6 months the outcome was the cherry on the cake.

My representative Barrister was Mr Eugene. I'd describe Mr Eugene as ( Anthony Hopkins) the actor.

My Barrister had his own unique style.
As far as I can honestly say, thank you.

Kind regards Mr Islam.

PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS FIRM !

PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS FIRM !
I switched to NML as another company did not serve me well. Initially I spoke to someone who was helpful and reassuring, who having spoken to one of her legal colleagues told me I had a 95% chance of getting off with no charges.
I set up a payment plan after which I was immediately moved to another advisor . Across a 4 week period, despite multiple attempts , I managed to speak to this person just twice, for a total of 7 minutes, and was advised to plead not guilty.
Fast forward to the day before my trial and an 11 minute conversation with the lawyer who had been selected to represent me the next day ( a 'gold level' lawyer incurring more cost as a bronze level was apparently not available)
He told me that he was not happy to enter a not guilty plea and did not agree with NML and the advice I had been given. He actually told me that if I did enter a not guilty plea, I could be charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice, THAT immediately flung me into a panic. He called NML and spoke to the 'helpful' person, who just said well her case was passed onto someone else 'apparently'.
Fast forward to trial day - the next day. My barrister said he would be at Court at 09.45 , My case was at 10.00.
He was not there .I chased him 3 times - no response. 17 minutes after my case started I received a wattsapp message saying '15 minutes' - that was it.
The judge called me in. I said my barrister had not shown up , but the judge still wanted me in. I had to put forward my own case for changing my not guilty plea ( which had already been sent in by NML in writing) back to what it was . I was questioned, spoken to by both judge and prosecution.
The judge then very kindly asked if I would like to wait for my barrister . I replied yes. He said very well I grant you that time. I shall not hold this against you, but I shall expect a full apology from him. The judge was not impressed. 25 minutes later my barrister was still not in Court. He actually arrived 45 minutes late .He just said my name to check it was me, and then walked off straight into Court . No apology , no conversation, nothing. 2 minutes later the judge asked his usher to come and get me . He said ' your barrister is apologising , I thought you should hear this also.'
Proceedings commenced and my lawyer went to enter a plea different to what we had agreed. I put my hand up at that point and asked if I could represent myself .The judge offered me the chance to speak with my lawyer . I declined as he had ignored me anyway and we had NO communication on the day.
The judge dismissed the barrister who took a seat at the back which I felt was most odd. I was asked by the judge if I was ok with him sitting there . I just said i'm not bothered as I was at that point focussed on defending myself. The judge said 'I will leave it up to you if you chose to pay him' The lawyer heard this.
I fought my own case totally. The barrister left the room once to take a phone call and then left for good before I was sentenced.
At the final summation the judge said he would like to know whether or not I receive a refund of barrister costs and gave me a route to inform him,

I called NML 3 times and emailed 3 times , and guess what - no response on the day .

The barrister appointed was over 3/4 of an hour late, leaving me totally alone to face a difficult trial with a change of plea, having thrown me into confusion the night before, and with no communication on the day.
I asked for him to stand down and he hung around at the back of the Court like a spare part. NML have given me one of the worst experiences of my life at great cost and still I have had no word of my refund. However, I did well, had a sympathetic judge and was happy with my outcome which was far better than the lawyer had told me it would be the night before.
POSTSCRIPT AFTER RESPONSE
I was not kept informed of any delay- I have sent you wattsapp proof of that .
All i had is what is detailed above .
I agreed woth you that i should change my previous plea from guilty with special reasons to NOT GUILTY . Your lawyer however told the night before that if i did this I could be caused with perverting the course of justice , and told me I must revert back to my original guilty with special reasons plea (after NML had written to the Court to change it )
Your course of events is totally incorrect.
I had a plea of guilty special reasons feom a previous barrister .
NML advised me to change this to not guilty and wrote to the court stating this .
I was happy to run with this until your barrister the night before told me I could be charged as above .
Hence we both agreed to revert to the original plea.
I am requesting a full refund, as I was NOT REPRESENTED on the day and NML caused me much angst having to initially speak in court alone with no barrister present for the first 20 minutes of my time. I too have records of calls and messages which show only 6 calls from me to him.

Thank you for your review and have set out our response below

On the morning of the hearing the representative kept you informed about a
tailback for the Leicester exit of the M1 for approximately 2 miles and would be 15 minutes late.

EDIT The representative has provided a screenshot of the call log in which he called at 10.02 to provide an ETA and the message shortly after to advise he should be 15 minutes

The Judge specifically told you later in court that no adverse effect had been caused by the slight lateness as he had been dealing with another case.

Your case was listed for a special reasons hearing however you wanted to change your plea to not guilty as you accused your previous solicitors of entering a guilty plea without your permission.

When it was explained there would a record in court to prove this you changed your mind and decided to run special reasons instead on the basis you were driving in an emergency

When you were asked for evidence about the emergency you again changed your mind and decided to plead guilty and represent yourself.

EDIT you were not represented in court because you decided to represent yourself. There can be no criticism of the representative when it was your choice not to have representation.

The representative who stayed behind to watch your case has noted you unfairly attempted to blame the firm for not proceeding with the change of plea and special reasons.

He has commented as follows

‘Ms Fossard advised the Judge that she was proceeding as previously intended due to being told what to do by NML, this was a blatant attempt to throw NML under the bus’

In summary your review bears no resemblance to the reality of what took place at court and in no way reflects the high level of skill and care you received from the firm.

We note your review appears to be an effort to frustrate payment of fees due on 17/07/25 which we had offered to put on a payment plan. If you require more time to pay please contact our accounts team who will be pleased to assist.

For the benefit of potential clients we will now provide more information about the firm.

You get what you pay for - excellent all round.

The possibility of losing your licence is so catastrophic for most people that it's worth getting specialist solicitors, and these are absolutely fantastic. I would recommend NML to anyone. Incredible service all round. My advice would be, don't try to save a few quid by getting a cheap solicitor - it will cost you far more in the long run.

Thank you to Nicola Laura and Kam

Nicola our case worker was absolutely fantastic, always on the end of the phone if I ever needed any reassurance or to answer any questions I may have.
After a rocky start and a clash with another of the Lawyers on staff Laura was quick to listen to my concerns and resolve my issues even taking on my case herself at no additional cost.
After 18 months of court postpones and Cps postponing we eventually got the best possible outcome from a Guilty plea and I cannot thank the team enough for their support over this time.
Special thanks to Kam for putting us at ease at court and for getting such an amazing outcome for us.
Thank you all!

Great to see a master at work

Great to see a master at work, Mr Phillip Lucas is unbelievable.
I was expecting the worse a possible three year band
and I was acquitted on the breathalyzer not working correctly.
I am very happy with the result and have learnt a valuable lesson.
If you want to give yourself a chance, get this company on board.

Highly Recommend!

From the initial phone call through to the end result, Sandra and Amanda were absolutely fantastic. Communication was always on point, every query submitted was acknowledged and answered promptly and best of all, due to their knowledge and expertise, the case was discontinued by CPS due to lack of evidence. Could not have asked for a better result.

Honest review, Although there was a few admin hiccups to start with overall I really cannot speak highly enough of NML, they always came through and eventually got the case withdrawn and saved me from a 3 year ban, I would absolutely use these guys again, they offer better value for money than others but no less overall service, thanks NML, regards Giles

I highly recommend Sandra Cooper at…

I highly recommend Sandra Cooper at National Motoring Lawyers for her exceptional legal representation. She handled my drink driving case with outstanding professionalism and diligence, resulting in the CPS deciding to drop the charges against me.

From the outset, Sandra provided clear guidance and ensured I fully understood the legal process and my options. Her meticulous attention to detail and strategic approach allowed her to identify critical weaknesses in the prosecution’s case. It was evident that she was thoroughly prepared and deeply knowledgeable, which gave me a great deal of confidence throughout what could have been an overwhelming experience.

Sandra’s calm and measured approach, coupled with her strong advocacy skills, ensured the best possible outcome in my case. Her dedication and expertise were evident at every stage, and I am immensely grateful for her support and the result she achieved.

If you are in need of a skilled and reliable solicitor, I would not hesitate to recommend Sandra Cooper and National Motoring Lawyers.

I had tried everywhere to get even a modicum of advice from numerous solutions but, had no joy from any of them.
Saw this company on a Facebook news feed & called them as a last resort, only asI'd never heard of them before.
Got speaking with a lady called Sandra Cooper who was just fantastic.
She had a lovely calming voice AND temperate.
It was an absolute pleasure talking with her, putting me in a lot better frame of mind.

Thank you very much Sandra.
