Terrible service and dishonest staff

Terrible service and dishonest staff. Dont waste your money or your time with this terrible company. They snapped the locking wheel nut key and tried to hide it, didnt check wheel allignment which resulted in brand new tyres being worn to the wire in 3 months, quite happily let me drive away with children in the car without telling me the extent of the damage. Accepted no responsibility for the mistakes. Disgusting.

1st class service

2nd time at national tyres,had a problem with my water bottle windscreen washer,dealt with lee,got stuff ordered in and fixed,decklan done the job 1st class service as always,highly recommended, thanks again,Mr Kennedy,

Nightmare Service...

Definitely the worst garage I have ever been to. Guy who's working there has no clue what he is doing. This has been the most stressful couple of months of my life. My car is older yes, but I was happy to invest in it and get it all fixed up, so never complained about them upping prices at short notice etc. I just wnated the car looked after and safe for me and the road. As soon as I bought the car I put it in for a major service (over 300£), but was then given the report with no air filters done as apparently they couldn't get into that (they could have at least explained what the issue was and how that could be fixed). I was still charged for the full service though eventhough that hadn't been done. Never saw any photos that were apparently taken during the service either. They gave me a list of repairs needing done, but completely missed out that it was leaking oil and where this could come from. I took it to another Halfords garage to have all the repairs done (1200£) and a few days later noticed the car leaking a lot. Immediately took it back and they said they couldn't figure it out, so took it back to national tyres who said it needed a new sump. Fine. Agreed to the new sump (225£) and drove off thinking it was all sorted now. Nope. Same day it's leaking again, so took it in another 2 times and had the sump resealed and replaced. Each time it's leaking again and the last time it was leaking worse than before. Then the coil went and this is where the fun starts. I took my car back there through RAC breakdown services as my car was booked in for another sump fix the following day anyways, so phoned them and told them that the car needs a new coil pack fitted and please now that it's there can they do an MOT after everything had been fixed. From now on the story changed every time. Apparently they ordered the wrong coil so it didn't work, then we were told we can pick it up on Sunday but we went there and they were shut and no sign of my car. We phoned again on Monday and he said it will be ready on Tuesday in the meantime however he had also said it had failed the MOT, but after putting in a complaint he said he had never done an MOT on it. Get your story straight please!! Then we were told by some sort of big manager called Kevin it will be ready by Thursday afternoon. Went there Thursday afternoon and the car still didn't work and no coil fitted. He gave us the keys and I don't know.... Expected us to carry the car on our backs?? So we phone the customer service and no one is willing to accept this is their fault. Friday comes along and we now have to pay for a breakdown recovery to get it taken away from there (65£) and low and behold the legend who picked it up (he is in no connection to national tyres) takes a look at the car, orders the right part and within a day my car is now running again, as it was indeed an easy fix like I told this joke of a garage when I dropped it there. So now we're paying another chunk of money at a different garage, but at least the car is running. If national tyres would order the right parts instead of cheap parts and then overcharge for them maybe the car would have been working. I'd rather pay more but know my car is in good hands, which national tyres is certainly not!! Two weeks my car was there for a job someone else did within not even 48hours of retrieving my car. Please national tyres explain how that is possible?? We were told Kevin would get back in touch to help us resolve the issues in regards to getting the car away from there, we have not heard a word from him!! It's a joke, I have lost so much money in this garage and because of this garage cause I couldn't take my car to work. The customer service here is appalling!!! My car is now driving fine, no thanks to national tyres. Also upon retrieving my car from national tyres the fuel tank had gone down to less than half when I dropped it there with a full tank. So either the car was driven around without being fixed properly or what happened here??
Today I picked up the car now that it's actually driveable again (again not thanks to national tyres) and oh wonder, the oil leak is still there, so the sump wasn't fitted properly again. This is now beyond a joke and i'd appreciate some sort of comment and way to rectify this please! I'll definitely be in touch for some sort of financial compensation! I am also questioning what was even done during the major service, as clearly none of these faults were picked up before and the other garage confirmed that the car must have been misfiring for a while, which again should have been picked up during the service.

Went to Dunfermline to do shopping…

Went to Dunfermline to do shopping yesterday and our car battery suddenly failed. We were stranded but after a push start we passed Gardener Street and I decided to stop in and asked for a price to fit a new battery to our Peugeot. Can't thank the staff enough for their help. Very friendly and welcoming. They had a new battery in stock and fitted it right away. We had confidence back in the car to head home. The staff's helpful manner was really appreciated, from the guy at the till to the guy who fitted the battery. It was a great first time experience having ever used National Tyres before. The centre was clean and had a nice warm waiting room to watch our car being sorted. We left feeling very happy.

Fantastic service all round

Fantastic service all round. Took car for MOT and Lee phoned so quickly that we were very surprised when it was ready to collect. Lee was extremely polite and very helpful. We will definitely be back.

Garage failed to pick up all the work that needed done

Had a service done (£700) and car started making noises it never did after this. Took car back in and they wanted to charge us £300 for work that they apparently ‘hadn’t seen’ when the car was in for a service. Not only is this worrying that they didn’t do the full proper service but to fix their problem we have to fork out another £300! Will not be using this place again, so disappointing and expensive!

I recently visited the National Tyres…

I recently visited the National Tyres and Autocare in Dunfermline. I've had varying experiences here. On a positive note, the customer service was generally friendly and quick, especially when I needed a tyre replacement and ordered the wrong size by mistake. Staff, particularly Jack, were attentive and offered clear explanations. However, I was disappointed with the exhaust replacement service. After fitting, my car had issues, and it felt overpriced for budget components. Overall, it's a mixed bag; some services were good, but others left much to be desired. I would cautiously recommend it to others.

Very disappointed with my experience…

Very disappointed with my experience here for two reasons
Car went for replacement of middle and tail section of exhaust
They had a look at the car yesterday. Driving home afterwards engine warning light came on and car was then misfiring
Had been absolutely fine before they looked at my car. Timing of this is too much to be coincidental.
Does not inspire trust or confidence, so won’t be back here again.
To add salt to the wound they have fitted budget priced exhaust components but charged a premium price,
Klarius parts were fitted (cost price ,my parts would have been £120 before fitting) .
I paid £450 in total for the Klarius parts and fitting. Works out at £330 profit for what would have been an hour's work at most on my vehicle.
Does not represent value for money in the slightest.

I have visited this garage a few times…

I have visited this garage a few times now for varied work and always had fantastic service from Jack and the team. Happy to take the time to explain things clearly and provide options (if possible). Always got a great price for any work required. Would defo recommend to anyone. (Dunfermline)

Had my car in for an MOT and after…

Had my car in for an MOT and after failing, they were able to get the parts in and get to work really quickly on it. Jack at reception was really helpful, will be back for sure.

Terrible customer service

After ordering a mid range tyre online and receiving confirmation email and time to arrive, I made my way to the dunfermline branch, was told fitment would take 30min, came back 30min later to be told they did not have the tyre with no apology for the wasted trip, the gentleman at reception then said I should not have been able to order the tyre in the first place and that I would need to come back the following day to have a budget tyre fitted, when I called back to say I was looking at mid range tyre's so the replacement of a budget tyre was not suitable the gentleman was rude and spoke down to me, he also stated that in his opinion the budget tyre would be better than mid range. I asked that he speak to my husband who then cancelled the order. Will definitely not be back after using this branch multiple times in the past, your customer service is disgusting and if you don't like dealing with customers maybe you shouldnt be working the front desk.

Major Service - no confidence anything was done at all.

I booked and paid for a major service at the Dunfermline branch (£295). When I noticed they hadn't measured the tyre treads, I got an uneasy feeling I might have been fleeced. So I checked the cabin pollen filters, and right enough - it was the old, heavily-soiled filters. I had no confidence they'd changed the oil and oil filter, so requested a refund through their central customer services line. It was investigated and - to their credit - the refund was processed quickly. I was able to use the refund to get the service done elsewhere, where they don't try to pull the wool over the customer's eyes. However, what a hassle - thanks for nothing, National Tyre Dunfermline. I also paid for a wheel alignment, and had to pay to have it done (again?) to be sure it was done for real.

My advice is only trust this branch with something like a tyre change - something visible, that they can't fake.

Branch closed when I turned up for tyre fitting

I booked online for today at 11am (with a £5 surcharge), I have turned up 10 minutes early as instructed on the email and the branch is closed. I have waited for almost 30 minutes in case staff were running late for opening. The sign outside reception says it's meant to be open 10-4pm. I can't contact anyone as customer service, the branch and online enquiries are closed. Additionally, I cannot find an email address anywhere online or I would have sent this as a private message. Why does the online booking system let you book in when the branch is closed? This is the first time I've used your company and I'm very disappointed so far with my experience.

Order number W7949076 & job reference 154/9009299. I called on my lunch break as I really needed the tyres fitted as they kept losing pressure within a few days of topping them up. It was done this afternoon. Disappointed I had to call and no-one reached out this morning. I was also still charged for the premium Sunday fitting which I didn't realise until I got home. Gave an extra star as the gentleman I spoke to on the phone was apologetic.

Excellent costumer service and competitive price.

Excellent service competitive prices. Staff very friendly professional and approachable.
Jack the manager gave 100% customer service (extremely polite and professional), and went the extra mile to make sure all the tyres were fitted to my car without mark any of the wheels.
Would recommend to family and friends and will be back when tyres required.

Horrendous, stressful and dangerous

I took my car to National Tyres Dunfermline on the 15th of September to get new tyres. They failed to reattach my wheel correctly leaving my car in a dangerous condition, despite me taking it back multiple times and being assured repeatedly that it was safe to drive. Once they finally diagnosed the problem - very serious by this time as I'd sheared a bolt off and the car was not safe to drive. I thought the ordeal was over. Not so. The customer complaints team have been extremely difficult and stressful to deal with. My original complaint was sent in on 28th September (53 working days ago) and since then it has not been resolved. I have been forced to threaten legal action in order to get funds, which they forced me to incur, returned. I've been forced to contemplate reporting my car stolen in order to find out where it was and what they'd done to it when they wouldn't respond to phone calls, texts or emails. I've wasted months ( no exaggeration) on this and my complaint is still not resolved, despite them closing it at least once.
What could you do better? Firstly carry out safe work. Failing that fix it the first time it's reported to you. As for the customer complaints team - it needs reviewing by someone competent. Ignoring complaints, forcing people to borrow money they don't have and not paying it back timeously, failing to answer, failing to provide information, a hire car or contact details you'd promised is just unacceptable. There are no good adjectives I can apply to my experience with this company.

My complaint number is 21246766. It has been closed at least once despite it not being resolved.

Booked for two tyres at dunfirmline…

Booked for two tyres at dunfirmline branch,pulled my van off jobs as had appointment for 3 o'clock to fit tyres.Van was there 14 30 and was told have to wait till 3,fair enough no help until 4 then tyres taken off the front,manager comes back 30 min later to say sorry don't have both tour tyres in stick can over you alternative for £100 extra.Boy that took the van called me and told manager to hold on.Im on they way,he was told by manger he does not have time to wait and has other cars to get done.Shocking!I arrived to a manager that was absolutely rude,and no interest in even sorting something else,when I told him to put my tyres back on and return my money so I can go get tyres else were he said no problem no apology from him.Last 3 and half hours and left with original tyres put back.Its worst service I have ever received in my life.Will never see a vechile from me ever.Avoid this place.

Avoid

Avoid! Booked and paid for an MOT with full service two weeks prior. Voicemail left late afternoon the day before the appointment stating they had no tester, apparently haven’t had one for a while so a known issue, leaving us without an MOT, not even an apology, no response from head office customer services either
