Company is trash
App is garbage, and they CONSISTENTLY have problems that effect MY money. Id rather stuff my mattress full then trust them with anything. And this isnt against my local branch, this is the company as a whole.
While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

Quick to take your money in every which way they can. Customer for 25 years and its been one headache after another. After a series of HORRENDOUS customer service experiences and refusal to accept a CashApp transfer, I left and joined my local Federal Credit Union. Should have done it sooner.
I do not enjoy this change in banks. NBT took over Evans bank. I was thinking maybe new modern experience. I am very disappointed. Online banking and things just sit in pending for so long. Not modern at all. My little Evans bank banked quicker than this.
I've held accounts with NBT Bank and its predecessors for five decades. While I've had excellent service with them on the domestic side, it has been 180 degrees opposite on anything international. Despite notifying the bank in advance, both online and in person, of upcoming foreign travel, the bank has consistently frozen my accounts once I was traveling abroad, rendering both my debit card and access to my accounts unusable. This has occurred several times. I lodged a formal complaint with a regional NBT president, who took my complaint seriously and subsequently informed me that NBT had reformed its system. Well, I went through the same motions for my latest foreign trip and guess what? Locked out of my accounts, requiring a 45-minute phone call from overseas to reverse it. Having zero trust in NBT's competence in this area, I now use another bank that caters to military personnel and retirees whenever I travel outside the country. I also use this bank when wiring money abroad due to NBT's excessive fees and slow processing. Bottom line: if you never leave the country and engage solely in domestic financial transactions, NBT is fine. If not, take your business elsewhere.
I have a solar loan with this bank. Its been two years and their customer service is TERRIBLE. Forget about even trying to message them through their portal. No one even reads your message. I am working now on paying off my loan with another bank. I want nothing to do with this place anymore.
NBT is a terrible bank. They bought my local bank, one that provided excellent service, and since then everything has been awful: online banking, mortgage payment support, credit cards... NBT provides the worst customer service I've ever encountered.
Very poor Bank. if you tell the representative something they don't like to hear they will hang up the phone on you. Had a very bad experience!
They took out the money from my account without permission then when I reversed the money they charge me for that.
Ridiculous!
