Horrible company to deal with. Avoid!

I have dealt with New Ireland for both a pension and Life Insurance and have found them to be a terrible company that I regret ever having dealt with. They are painfully slow in replying to communications and take forever to get a policy set up. They took months to get my pension set up and when they finally did, they took double the amount they were meant to from my bank account in the one month! They were also dishonest in dealing with my life insurance application, and used information from a previous policy that was cancelled years before and was no longer relevant to the current application as more than 5 years had elapsed. They delayed me for months while they were making a decision. I was able to set up a policy with absolutely no issues with another provider in less than a month.

It's Amature Night with this group of characters. If you trust them with your money I'm afraid you may NEVER SEE IT again!
I've called them several times over the last 4 Months. Trying to get them to do what they are Legally Obliged to do. But I'm met with a continuous wall of irresponsible functionaries who simple Pawn me off with platitudes. Where is the FINANCIAL OMBUDSMAN when you heed him/her?? - It's An Utter Disgrace!

Company is a disgrace

Company is a disgrace. Paid in for twenty plus years , customer service is shockingly bad . I wouldn’t t recommend them to anyone . Communication results in promises which don t materialise . If anyone wants to protest their offices I m for it.

i have a prsa with these guys

i have a prsa with these guys, i have tried for the last 6 months to talk with someone on the prsa team, incredibly i have not been able, i have emailed and called, the longest call wait was 1 hour and 22 minutes, they don't respond to emails and when i tried to get talking with anyone in the company they said i had to deal with a member of the prsa team, and they are supposed to manage my money! i would advise anyone not to go near this company, i will be making a case against them.

New Ireland Very disappointing experience

Very disappointing experience. Trying to get my executive pension paid put. Made initial enquiry with Metis Ireland at the beginning of August. New Ireland received my documents on 9th of September. I was given time line of 6-8 weeks for receipt of funds. Today is December 10th, still waiting. As some other reviewers mentioned previously, time to make an appointment with ombudsmen. Companies who are not able to fulfil their commitments, should not be operating

Shockingly bad

I have sent in my forms twice. They lost them the first time and I have no idea whether they received them the second time. It is been two months since I started the process of getting my pension paid out. The last time I rang them I was told I they will call me back as their system is down. Next step, the Ombudsman!

Very poor customer service with average…

Very poor customer service with average waiting times 30 mins plus on the phones (after multiple no responses to emails). i have rang and stayed on the phone 30 mins to then be told they are just taking messages and will pass them on. They have repeatedly never called back when they said they would.

Very poor administration of pension

Very poor administration of pension, was waiting weeks (months) for simple, standard documents/information to be sent to me. In email responses, separate staff members told me they were dealing with backlog issues, I regard this as highly unprofessional to put into emails to customers. I then completed the requested forms and sent them back, 2 more months passed, my query hasn't been resolved so I have sent further follow up emails. I was then told they need my proof of address and ID as well to deal with my claim (was not advised of this in earlier emails, I was only asked for the completed forms plus bank details-no mention of proof of ID), I have also sent this back earlier this month as they requested.

Sent one last email today informing them of my intention to go through the pensions Ombudsman. I have spent the past 3 months persistently chasing the same query. It is not worth the hassle of trying to deal with this company when they cannot get the basics sorted. Maybe the delays are intentional? They do not seem willing to forward my payment so my next step will be the Ombudsman.

Round and Round and Round We Go

Round and round and round we go, you could waste a months credit trying to find someone that can actually help you. I tried to change my payment details the website was useless and when I rang after waiting 10 minutes+ I got through to someone who then put me on hold to put me through to someone else were I sat for another 10 minutes+ before I lost my patience and gave up.

Terrible Customer Service

1 month later, still waiting for any useful reply. I've so far only recieved an acknowledgement from customer service that they will be slow to deal with a request, and been sent a more specific email. Looking at the other reviews, this is definitely not a customer friendly organisation.

Shambolic service

Submitted a pension claim back on the 11th April. Called this morning for an update I was told it would be three weeks before anyone would be available to look at my claim. The regulation in Ireland has once again failed the citizens of Ireland. With rising outs of goods and services I could really do with my pension I 63 and out of work due to illness. Between the life company and the financial regulator this system has utterly failed its such a bloody shambles
