Really enjoyed the tour on our first visit to new York
The city itself completely exceeded our expectations which were very high to start with and it was a very tiring few days but more that worth it
Onto the tours through grayline
We took an uptown, a downtown and one of the river cruises on our first day and used the bus to get to ground zero the following day, after which we walked all day
A bit confusing exchanging our online voucher for the tickets but this was resolved very quickly and we boarded the bus within 20 minutes
The tour was very informative and we picked up lots of interesting little facts and visited most of the sights which we were able to visit properly later on
The boat trip was also very good and we had plenty of opportunities to take pictures of the statue of liberty
We also saw a helicopter contaiming president Obama as an added bonus which was quite a dramatic moment
All of our tour guides were very good, in particular Greg on the second tour who was particularly informative and I think was the only actual native new yorker
The buses are a little old but my only criticism would be that the earphone sockets were on the outside wall of the bus so that the person sitting on the aisle seat has a bit of a stretch with the earphone lead - the sound on one of the buses was also a bit intermittent but did seem to sort itself out after a while
However these are only minor points and the overall tour was well worth the money and very interesting and informative
We also found the guys on the ground to be very helpful when we were trying to find certain places (the guides from the other bus companies were equally helpful) and we found the new yorkers to be very friendly, welcoming and friendly and a credit to their city
We had a great time but boy did it wear us out! !!!!

We purchased our 48 hour tickets over the phone and received a $10 discount. However, we had to go to an office to pick up our tickets. It would be easier if we could just bring up our tickets on our smartphones similar to the airlines or some other attractions. The line was short but the people working the counter seemed annoyed by my questions and seemed to just want to be somewhere else. Most of the guides were excellent and we had a good time interacting with them. Great way to get around NY and see most of the typical tourist sites. Buses were always at the stops in an agreeable amount of time, were clean and the in hear headsets usually worked OK.

Bought tickets online but still had to wait in line for over 30 minutes to exchange for vouchers. Otherwise, very good tour!!

overall I can recommend Newyorksightseeing, they really cover a lot of places, price is fair, frequency often, even ferry included and most of the tour guides did know a lot and were helpful.

This was a very bad experience. We purchase our tickets online but had to pickup the tour tickets at their office, after standing in line for over 30 minutes. Then the tour bus was 40 - 45 minutes late. The tour guide was terrible. He showed no motivation or enthusiam during the whole tour. At one point we stopped along the way and he told us he was getting off to get us some water but instead he was off the bus for about 15 minutes and when he returned he brought no water yet he purchased a cup of coffee for himself. The tour was boring, and I am from NY, and I would not recommend this tour to anyone.

Our first family trip to New York. Once we got over the long complicated confusing experience of the booking office we had a great 3 days. We did almost all the loops and found most of the Guides were informative and entertaining. The worst guides were the most pushy for tips. Would prefer just to tip the best ones myself. The vouchers worked well and saved us a lot although the information about how to use them was a bit lacking. Some had to be exchanged for tickets at booking offices some distance from the attraction and some did not. It would have been difficult if English wasn't my first language. It was a busy time so the VIP passes were worthwhile to make sure we got on the first bus.

My granddaughter and myself had a great time. We missed the Statute of Liberty due to the time. However, we will be back this summer and the first thing on my list is to tour the Statute of Liberty. Thank you

Firstly our online tickets sent us to the wrong address. The receiving address were rude as this happens often. We even screenshotted the page we received and where sent to for collection of our passes. Once we received the correct address there were long lines and it took us over 20 mins to be processed.

Although I had bought the tickets with multiple (7) attractions, one tour did not accept my booking ( followed instructions in the booklet provided) and rudely ( food tour) told me he would charge me and to sort it out with the company. Travelled back to ticket location to be told there was nothing they could do to help me. Not the best experience.

In SFO I took Big Bus and in NY I opted for Greyline based on reviews. We took a 48hr trip and started on their first trip as we wanted to cover as much as possible of NY city. The guide for the Manhattan loop was Alfredo I guess and he was superb with good explanation and interesting anecdotes to share. Then we went on Brooklyn loop and even that guide was good. However the downtown loops was boring as the guide would have been a real estate agent in his earlier job, he was only talking about rentals and property valuations of the buildings on the tour. Cruise was also a good experience. Due to paucity of time and had to head back to other city, missed the night tour. Tipping the guides after end of the trip if they were good, helps us in gathering some good tips from them.

I thoroughly planned our NYC trip on line, including the Grey Line Tour. Every other booked activity (long term parking, shuttle, hotel, restaurants, 911 museum, statue of liberty/ellis island, etc., etc. were perfect. Grey Line - "not so much". As noted in other reviews - the voucher you get on line is useless. You still have to go to one of the offices and stand in a long, hot, loud line. No one will give you any information unless you stand in line. Then, the tours I planned to take were impossible to take as the timing of the tours was NO WHERE TO BE FOUND!!! That was only the beginning. We finally got a tour only to be told that the "hop on-hop off" we read about and expected is not true! We had to get off after 1 stop, stand in line again, and get another tour bus. Our guide was beyond terrible. This was not my first time in NYC nor my first tour. I could have given a better tour. He talked with folks about nothing...let us know what it is like to be a sub teacher, and asked everyone about their life. I did not care!! I wanted a tour. Then at the end he was rude about getting a tip and when I did not leave one, he just about yelled at me. I would never recommend Grey LIne tours in NYC. Customer service, ticketing, information on times of tours, etc. are non existent. This is the second review I wrote about this and I never got a response to the first. Find another bus tour...it can't be worse than Grey Line!

We enjoyed our 4 hr tour in English and Spanish with Patrick as our tour guide. Thankfully it was a Sunday morning so the traffic was comparatively light. It was a good way to orient ourselves for the rest of the visit. We appreciated the two "rest" stops.
Grey Line office organization was/is a disaster. We went to pick up our tickets the day before and ended up in mindless lineups with few staff to handle customer questions and purchases. Lot's of supervisors standing around doing nothing...they could have pitched in to alleviate the backup. Crazy lineups the next morning too for the actual bus tour. Despite following instructions we almost ended up in the German speakers' tour.

We booked our tour on line, downloaded what we thought were tickets, attempted to board a bus and were directed to an office across the street to exchange the "vouchers" for tickets. What??? So we did as directed and stood in line in a sweltering store front for over an hour waiting to exchange vouchers for tickets. It was ridiculous. No preferred line for voucher holders-waited while people mulled a variety of options for tours, show tickets, etc. The employees were rude and confrontational. If I hadn't already paid a good amount I would have walked out. Then we had to wait 30 minutes for the bus to start the tour. The tour guide below average. Never will book with you againn

I went on the Manhattan Experience tour in October 2016. This is a full day tour and very comprehensive, we went up to Harlem, down to the 9/11 memorial and everywhere in between. We went on a ferry ride under the Brooklyn bridge and past the Statue of Liberty - and had lunch in Little Italy. Our guide and driver were wonderful!

I have sent before to grayline but I get no response and nobody care so I don't want to write what happened to me with you bus driver because I am sure you won't care

So I booked this tour for my mother's first visit to NY since she uses a cane and can't walk a great deal, I thought this would be easier and she could see everything there is....not so true. The stop and start locations are confusing. For some reason, we had to walk a mile from the end of one tour to the start, although they're supposed to be a loop. When you get on a tour that's starting, they make you wait until the bus is full until it leaves. Very annoying.
One of the tour guides was so annoying, he thought he was the greatest thing but all he was doing was just yelling the entire time. That's not entertainment.
At one of the Central Park stops, we ended up waiting over 45minutes for the next bus. During this time, we saw 2,3, and 4 of the competitor buses at the stop we were waiting. After calling the company to complain, we were told there would be another one along in 20minutes, so, I bribed another bus company to take us. Ridiculous. I actually had to pay another bus to do their job. Needless to say, I would not recommend this tour to anyone. Use the other 2 big companies.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our first experience with Grayline Tours. We bought the basic tour plus 2 attractions package but could only use one of the offerings this trip, so we'll be back to use the second offering soon. It was comforting to know that the package does not have to be used that very day, because we had a full day as it was. Thanks for your courtesy, assistance, and making my husband's first visit to NYC a very memorable one!!

We bought a 48 hours hop on hop off buss pass and started that evening with the "Night Tour". We had a very knowledgeable guide and kept asking if everyone could hear him. We actually had some folks that did not speak English very well and he made sure they were on the correct channel to hear and understand the tour.
The next 2 days we visited several areas and each time we stopped, the guide directed to where we needed to go and where to pick up a bus to head back. In fact the United Nations was in session and many streets were closed so busses had to alter routes a little and traffic was very heavy. At one point the driver and guide stopped for us to get off and go to our hotel at a safe location rather than go to the regular stop where we would have had to walk back 5 blocks. We really appreciated this as we were trying to get back in time to get ready for the theater on 52nd St. With traffic heavy, we were a not moving very fast and we would have been late, so with their help, we made the theater on time. Thanks so much for be considerate to our needs.

I used the gray line hop on hop off bus back in 2011 and it was a wonderful experience so when I went back in October 2016 I thought why not use them again....NEVER again will I go with Gray Line. I bought the 72 hrs pass for myself and 6 others....started out the first day we waited almost 2 hours for the uptown bus to show up. With the supervisor on site all he could tell us is the bus will be here in 5 min...then the bus will be here in 10 min....finally after 1 hour and 50 min later 1 bus showed up. When you are visiting New York on vacation every minute counts when there is so much to see...this put our entire trip for that day behind. There was no apologies or any empathy from the people at all. When we did finally get going it seemed ok until we got on the bus to come back from Yankee stafium....oh my gosh the tour guide spoke so badly you could not understand a word he was saying....it sounded like mumbling with a mouth full of marbles...it was terrible. Was sure glad that part of the trip wasn't long and could get on the 2nd half of the uptown bus to finish that tour

The tour was great. Very convenient to find and it was great that we could get on and off at our leisure. The tour guides were very good, but their quality was variable. We had a difficult time hearing some of them and not all of the audio connections worked, so much of the time we had no tour guide unless we could hear their voices directly. One of the guides spoke softly into his mic, so we could not hear a thing. The buses were somewhat out of repair, especially with regard to the audio system. Air conditioning did not work in some of the buses, and it was sweltering outside. Ok if upstairs, but not acceptable if downstairs. We still enjoyed the tour and would do it again, though we may check out the other bus tour company for comparison.

We had an excellent driver and an excellent tour guide who gave us some worthwhile information and tips. Riding in a van with only 9 people on board was good because it didn't take long to load and unload the van when we stopped. The ferry on the Hudson was a wonderful way to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
