I am extremely disappointed with my…Normandy Auction recommended the shipping company but failed to assist when the item arrived damaged. Customers deserve better support and professional packaging.
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Normandy Auction.
When I purchased a fragile item, Normandy Auction recommended and arranged shipment through ThePackengers. I trusted their recommendation and expected a professional shipping service appropriate for a valuable and fragile item.
Unfortunately, the item arrived severely damaged. The shipping box was old and worn, the internal packaging was inadequate, and there was no "Fragile" or "Handle with Care" label on the package.
What disappointed me even more was what happened afterward.
Rather than taking responsibility and actively assisting in resolving the issue with the shipping company they recommended, Normandy Auction distanced itself from the problem and directed me to deal with the carrier and insurer on my own.
The insurance claim was later rejected because no optional AD VALOREM insurance had been purchased. However, this does not address the real issue: the poor packaging that failed to protect the item during normal transportation.
As the auction house that recommended and arranged the shipment, I expected Normandy Auction to stand behind its customers and help resolve the matter. Instead, I was left to handle the entire dispute alone despite paying for professional shipping.
