Disappointed and upset

Ordered a sofa in October and really impressed with Mark who went out of his way to help me choose a sofa to match my 2 leather armchairs. Was given a delivery time of 2/3 weeks which I thought was great. Time passed and I heard nothing then received an email advising everyone that the family had been hit by covid causing delays etc. I was of course sympathetic and left it another month before sending a polite email enquiry. I received an apologetic call from Peter who advised that they were catching up with deliveries and all outstanding orders would be delivered the following week but nothing happened. Since then I have sent lots of emails and eventually received a reply telling me my order was cancelled and I was being refunded. That was 10 days ago and I am still waiting. Absolutely gutted that I appear to have lost my money especially as I'm about to be made redundant and my old sofa is broken. Doesnt pay to be nice - I should have chased harder and stronger and earlier I guess!

Nightmare to deal with excuse after excuse

This company is a total nightmare to deal with. It’s run by a guy called Peter who makes excuse after excuse. I ordered two sofas and an armchair off his site EIGHT weeks ago! I have had excuse after excuse about deliveries. Then he tells me he is out of stock not that I believe he ever had the things in. He outsources a lot, then he offers me a choice of three sofas from outlets he says he has links with.. Promises to send pictures when he drives back. After emails over days he sends me one picture of a cheap sofa in display in a shop! Now I am trying to get a refund off the guy and getting excuse after excuse again, this time he has used some financial service outlet who you cannot even contact!!!!. It should have been in my bank by now but nothing 1394. I am spending Xmas with no sofas thanks to this total joke of a company! AVOID THIS OUTLET AT ALL COSTS. And before he goes on about the calls he had made and not answered. I checked with my phone provider who confirmed nothing to do with them or my phone, his phone!! His own daughter got through to me on her own phone! Read the other negative responses all say the same thing! At the time of writing there is still no money back! Going into jan from Oct!! Checked with Square the company that was used to process refund and they tell me it wasn’t processed properly and all you get is excuses! If you don’t want this type of hassle AVOID!’

Circus full of clowns

I would like to ask what sort of a circus company you are running order placed 20th oct rang and spoke to 2 different people about delivery on the 4th November and was given the sob story of driver contracted covid and was told another 2 weeks so I gave them the benefit of doubt 2weeks later still no sofa tried calling got no answer emailed through ebay still no reply 3 weeks ago I wrote a review on here and got a reply stating I'd cancelled my order the previous week by phone call all of which wasnt true as I couldnt get anyone to reply to my numerous calls and emails, then my partner rang and asked to speak to manager/owner and was told by a bloke called peter he wasnt aware we had an order placed then came the book passing they had to fire a bloke who was dealing with ebay orders due to a number of cock ups (obviously us being 1 of those) he then gave us a delivery date of late 22nd or 23rd he called twice yesterday confirming dispatch and that we were last delivery fast forward 10pm still no sofa and surprise surprise no phone call or email to explain a delay .... 9 weeks of sitting on dining chairs and floor 800 quid out of pocket Christmas day tomorrow and no sofa ... merry Christmas northlakesofas you've ruined ours

My partner rang Peter 24th am to be told he not long got in from work himself he then promised to get back to us at dinner he did he also stated that he was going out to warehouse to do the delivery himself after several texts excuse after excuse even tried guilting us with how he needed to back for his kids as it christmas eve I also was out working Christmas eve and didnt get to see my kids before they went to bed so I didnt care all I cared about was not having a sofa for over 2 months WHAT A JOKE and were still fighting for a refund 7th jan

Terrible customer service

North Lake sofas/diamond logistics were unprofessional and dishonest on many occasions, constantly agreeing to do things that they must have known perfectly well they weren't going to do (deliveries, returning calls, refunds etc) over a period of several weeks and then trying to cover this with ridiculous and contradictory sob stories and blame shifting.

I would recommend avoiding this company unless you have a lot of spare time to waste and a high tolerance for tall stories and unprofessional behaviour.

UPDATE- El that simply isn't what happened. If Peter told you it was then he isn't being honest with you either. Peter's creativity with the truth is literally the reason for my review. If you want to 'protect' yourself from customer feedback then honesty, rather than sarcasm, might be a better start.

UPDATE- since your original replies have now been removed you have added yet another false version of events, claiming that you delivered my order on 7th December and I 'demanded' £100 on 8th December (neither is true) and you are quoting an impolite message that I never sent. Your standards of honesty and competence will be clear to anyone reading this.

Hi trudi, thank you for the review, we worked out who it was after the demand for £100 refund message came through. As with all delivery companies we can't offer a refund based on the courier being late. Especially close to Christmas. The roads are busy and deliveries do come late. You did ask us to hold your delivery, which we did until 1st week in December as requested by you at order. **shown**

We then delivered the items on the 7th December. We did say between 1 and 3... Which is what our courier advised to us that the sub contracted driver would arrive. We apologise for the driver being late but we can't help this. These aren't local deliveries, these are national deliveries. We then recieved these messages.

As discussed, the handyman who we had waiting to take out the window to move the sofas into the house in the agreed delivery time between 1 and 3 had to wait until 7 for the driver to arrive. The driver advised that he hadn't even collected our furniture until 4pm so there was no way it could have been delivered in the agreed time and we are out of pocket for the handyman at £25/hour. Please would you reimburse £100 for the wasted time?

So we do knock money off for delays, butwe can't do it for a delivery a couple of hours late. It can happen, I think most customers will understand that. Sorry, all customer I think understand that if your sofa is being delivered near Christmas, it's possible it could be a couple of hours to a couple of day late. But with a product worth £1000,reduced to £699 and then with 10% discount off and FREE delivery. We can't offer another £100 off because the courier came late. We had already despatched the sofa to the courier companies warehouse. So when it was collected, we were advised between 12 and 2. HOWEVER, We do understand these courier companies are also under pressure and late deliveries can happen. We do apologise you had to wait in an extra 2-3 hours but its nothing we can control once the sofa is on the road. We we thank you for your custom and hope you enjoy your brand new sofa,

Bought a cheap sofa that had quick delivery to tide us over until after Xmas and house renovation. Very impressed much better quality than expected fast delivery and at a time to suit us - highly recommend

Finally received my furniture,worth…

Finally received my furniture,worth wait,was in constant contact with the company and I knew it would take awhile due to the currant situation,but they kept me informed of what was happening.
Peter who i dealt with mainly was great even after being let down by three delivery companies so well done.
And at the low prices can(if needed) replace my furniture every year 🙂🙂🙂

But as you say, we've ever seen anything like this year before. As you said the only thing we can do at times like that is keep in touch with you and eventually at 8.30pm after initially advising us 1-3pm....They arrived! Excellent Service and great value for money

We're 100% delighted with our new suite. Excellent value for money. We did experience a slight delay in delivery but we placed our order during a regional lockdown and knew COVID was affecting supplies etc. When I spoke to Peter he could not have been more helpful. The guy is busting a gut every day to please as many customers that he can. He was texting me with updates around 9pm one evening, just to reassure me when we would get our delivery. He drove a van up from Penrith to Glasgow late on a Saturday afternoon to deliver to us in horrendous icy, foggy weather. I can assure anyone reading this, Peter and his team have gone the extra mile for us, my wife and I are so grateful to him. I will buy from him again when the time comes. So much nicer to deal with than the big companies and cheaper too!!! Thanks so much North Lakes Sofas. Excellent service, excellent suite and a great guy to deal with. Nick and Allison Bell

Love the Choclates - Love the Sofas

We have had this suite ordered since Febuary with 3 different compaines. ts hasnt been pleasent even thought it was for our entrance hall and only a 3 seater.
We expected difficiulties with Covid, slower delivery times and also we understand staff can be stretched.

Cmpany 1 - 11 weeks wait, they then disappeared. Assuming bust. Not yet recieved refund.

Company 2 - took oayment and 7 weeks later advised of no stock and refunded 2 weeks later.

We came across North Lakes Sofas on trustpilot but bought over the phone. Advised of our problem and was told 3-4 week delivery. However they suggested with the problems we have had, paying 25% deposit and cash or card on delivery to ease our minds. 4 weeks and 1 day later our sofa was delivered. Looking at others in the same trade and speaking to many others this to us was excellent. Always answered the phone from Kevin or Amy who are probably doing stupid hours to help and always pleasant! Sofa is excellent, especially for the price.

Cons
If there is one i would say 48 hours from notification of delivery to delivery. However after to speaking to them i believe to get the sofas out quicker they are outsourcing to coruiers to help. Not normally how they would work but as needs must it wasnt a problem for us.

As a side note the chocolates that came after the delivery were lovely. My wife didnt make it home to claim any but she thanked you anyway.

Lovely people and superb really considering the current circumstanes. Would recommend.

Excellent from start to finish

Right from the day we ordered our 3 and 2 seater sofas Peter was honest and informed us delivery is usually 3 to 4 weeks but due to the current situation couldn't guarantee this. We've had regular updates to keep us up to date with our delivery and Peter and the rest of the staff have been excellent to deal with. I've had a lovely experience using North lakes sofas. The sofas arrived on Wednesday 9th Dec about 9 weeks roughly. I'm happy with that considering all the delays they've had to endure. I kept my old sofa until Peter rang me confirming my slot. The sofas themselves are simply stunning quality. The price was unbelievable too. Go into DFS and see the price they'll charge. Wonderful service from the team and a big Thank you to all at North lakes sofas. I'll be recommending you to family and friends.

Great sofa. Great service.

We ordered our sofa for our new home in the second week of November ready for move in at the start of December and couldn’t be happier with the service we received. We understood during the current climate of the world things are difficult but we were never left worrying about when our sofa would arrive, the guys at north lakes sofas were great and it arrived a few days before our move date which was perfect. We love our sofa and we are so happy that we were able to help a local, family run business during these hard times. Thanks again to everyone at North lakes sofas!!

You can tell its family run!! Personal touch. SUPERB!

Take the negatives with a pinch of salt. TIMES HAVE CHANGED, ROLL WITH THE PUNCHES! North Lakes sofas were superb for us and the sofas are brilliant! Sit perfectly in our waiting room! Unreal prices and really good communication. Took less than 4 weeks to arrive. Considering the circumstances at the moment I'd say that was excellent! Thank you to Amy who was excellent.

And some chocolates arrived for my wife yesterday. Lovely touch

Would certainly recommend!

I've recieved messages to my mobile I wish to expose this company a letter of apology was all that was needed instead after leaving my review on Facebook with photo evidence I was blocked and sent this message from the company

Tell you what I've screenshotted them messages and put them on Facebook to show people the kinda person you are. Had some s**t and now feels the wold owes them something..

You had to wait 3 weeks and 2 days..shouting on the phone and talking no sense whatsoever. I've ran businesses for 25 years. I've worked high up in tbe Post office... Every so often there is someone like you... Trying to ruin a small family run business in a pandemic. Up here we stick together and we help each other out as businesses. We do our best but it's hard... And all that work is brought to its knees by a woman who couldn't get her own way! We give away sofas every week to people more in need than us. We also delivered a sofa to a lady in Glasgow with Allsymers as she had forgotten the date of the sofa delivery.. We didn't want her sitting on nothing so we loaned her one. At our cost... With people like that, you do your best. With you.... Honestly now, bottom of the barrel stuff! I feel sorry for your family.

Kirby watts, aka kirby monet, aka Tenby monet aka kirby daniella Watts aka chole Ireland are all the same person leaving us negative reviews.

We supplied the sofa within 3-4 weeks as stated on our website.

Kirby made 22 calls to our office shouting at staff after just 1 week and wanted the sofa delivered NOW. This was expected as she had a disabled child. So we decided to prioritise to help.

Kirby watts doesn't have a disabled child we have since found.

Kirby watts then decided to hijack my personal Facebook account and post pictures of me and my girlfriend, who just happens to work for the police.

This has been reported and the situation dealt with.

The order wasn't made by any of the above but a Paul dryden. 0091 phone code so India.

So we have 3 different addresses, 6 different names and 2 different countries.

Please ignore what this lady says

I went to check out North Lakes Sofas…

I went to check out North Lakes Sofas from a recommendation from my parents who had recently bought 3 sofas from them which took 3 days from order to delivery. So we went to have a look.

Peter and his team were really friendly and helpful from the outset and considering I'm a bit on the fussy side, he helped me find exactly what I was looking for. Impressive!

Even though there was a delay in delivery of my sofas, purely down to Covid-19, I can honestly say that the customer service I received from Peter and the team was second to none.

Peter was in contact throughout the delay to keep me informed of what was happening and even lent me a suite until mine arrived. Who else would do this???

I cannot fault them. I love my new sofas though the one they lent me I would have happily kept 😁

Peter was so good in understanding my situation and has bent over backwards for me. I appreciate everything and really can not thank you and your team enough.

Speedy delivery

I bought a sofa from North Lakes Sofas and couldn’t of been happier with the service I received. I ordered my sofa on the Saturday morning and it was delivered at 8pm on the Monday evening. They were more than happy to accommodate an evening delivery that suited me!!! Unbelievable service !! Well done guys !!! Very highly recommended

Speedy Delivery & Great Service

Fantastic Service From Peter and his team. Gorgeous Verona Scatterback sofa delivered quickly to our new home. My girlfriend and I cannot be happier with the service provided and the sofa looks lovely in our home. We look forward to post Covid-19 and allowing our friends and family to check it out!

Cannot complain one bit from start to finish about this family business.
Peter and his family went out of their way to get my sofas to me.
All I say is have faith be patient and keep in touch with Peter. He is a real deal kinda guy and excellent to do business with .
What you get is what you pay for and I must say I was pleasantly surprised .
Don’t be put off by negative reviews just go for it and keep in touch with them.
I promise you won’t be dis-appointed.
