Horrible experience

The cruise was to finished and the bus left without me and my family. We didn’t know it was the last. Nobody told us. No email no messages. We had to wait in the cold for a taxi that costs us 700nok. Total scam. And the cruise is useless. You have the same view by the road where you can stop whenever you want.

In the depths of Winter - a wonderful fjord cruise, a loss and a happy reunion.

In the depths of Winter, we had a memorable fjord cruise after our overnight stay in Flåm . It wasn’t until that evening, while getting ready for dinner, that I realised I had lost my 50th Wedding Anniversary gift - a tree of life pendant - on the ship, probably while removing my heavy jacket once settled on board.
The staff at Flåm Visitor Centre bent over backwards in their efforts to return it to me, including navigating the restriction on posting jewellery internationally - despite it being a return of an owned item! So while it took extra time to arrive due to the many public holidays between loss and return, I now have my personally valuable item back in my possession. I can’t speak highly enough of their care, attention and gracious assistance.

Don't book

Don't book,
Due to bad weather our ship will be leaving port early so we couldn't do the train as planned. We got to the ticket office at 7am, to see if we could change to an earlier one. We were met with the most unhelpful people I have ever met. They wouldn't consider changing our train although there were still 272 seats available. As for a refund, NO CHANCE. It was a very expensive and stressful experience, I work hard for my money so please don't waste yours

We were supposed to go on a cruise to…

We were supposed to go on a cruise to Flaam, but due to bad weather, we had to leave the harbour early, so we couldn't make it to our booked trip. I can see that they have plenty of seats left on several trips that left earlier. But we weren't allowed to rebook. Terrible service. I would be very careful about booking with them; they just want your money.

Avoid this operator and pay on spot directly

We booked the Hike & Bike package for the Flåm Railway and ended up paying for bike rentals we never used because of the confusing booking process.
The website showed bicycles next to the package, which made it look like we could choose our bikes online. Only after arriving did we discover that this option belonged to a different package and thus paid double the bikes. By then, it was too late to cancel or request a refund.
Despite explaining the situation and providing our booking numbers, Norwaysbest refused to refund the three unused bikes package, at least one of it would have been nice. They then told us that we should have spoken with the bike operators which we did but they couldn't help us, as they said Norways best is using a third party provider tool and only the could have refunded us! Sending us in a circle and sitting on the money is not customer friendly. Especially because on that rain day NO ONE was using the bikes and they had plenty of them left. We spent around 10,000 NOK in total and received no flexibility or goodwill.
The user interface is poorly designed, and customers end up paying for unclear information. A company at this price level should take responsibility for a confusing booking system instead of making travelers bear the cost.
In general it seems Norway people do not understand customer service and just try to avoid the customers concerns.

The bikes are low quality and have no bells on them as is required by law in Norway...too expensive to fit all those bikes with bells? So who is liable when you ride their bike but have an accident with a pedestrian walking the Flam footpath..of which there are many??

Fjord fiasco

We booked a trip in Flam with Norways Best to tour the fjords via Naeroyfjord cruise. It got cancelled at the last minute so we had no time to book anything ahead. We were stuck in long lines trying to book anything as most things were sold out. We really wanted to tour the fjords by boat.
They convinced us the only thing available was the Stegastein viewpoint at $103 so we booked it. Then we left the office and found the Safari company where we were able to book a small boat through the fjords. By the time we went back to cancel the viewpoint, stood in the wrong unmarked line for trains, had to start over in another line, the woman informed us we couldn't cancel. This is horrible customer service! She wasn't the least apologetic either. The whole fiasco was the fault of Norway's Best, but we got charged. I will never book with you again and will tell everyone I know not to book with you. Very poor service!

Stay away, Book with other companies

As many other said before avoid them ! There is no service, they just have a site and you book everything yourself and if something goes wrong they - if you find them- say it’s your problem, they are covered by the small letters in their site. If you like this kind of service go on and keep making them rich . I prefer other companies who care for the customer. There are others! And they offer the same. Look them up!

Because of the tempest we decided not to do the day package. The agency did not propose any solutions. We lost all our money (>400€)

We booked for a package train / bike and zip line but we couldn’t do it because of the tempest Floris. The agency refuse to reimburse or find a solution (postpone). The just told us it was a normal weather for Norway! You don’t put children on bike or zip lane even if it is open (the argue of the agency) ! Result : more than 400€ lost!! Thank you for your client service !

Best of Norway, The worst Flam

Best of Norway tour from Flam. We were running late, 3 minutes late. I accept that and while I was outside looking around the building for transportation. My wife went in to BON office and she asked were the tour was. The lady said you were late "that is your problem". Zero customer service, zero compassion my wife was in tears. I lost my cool with them. Love to post picture of the rude lady. When I went the corp, they said you were 6 minutes late (6 minutes, in the town of Flam 6 buildings) The management team responded to my email. our employees in Flam would never say that, so no refund, no anything, ypu were rude. a
It is illegal to post picture, I will post.
FLAM team awful. Sales manager does not understand.
How easy would have been if she would have said "I am sorry, they left, I can try to help you"
By the way they had all out contact info never called cell.
Use another company.
Dont use Flam Best of Norway.

NEVER AGAIN!

Hello,
We were in Oslo over the weekend and booked a fjord tour online. The tour operator provided the wrong address! We deliberately ended up at the wrong address. Our entire Saturday was wasted! Furthermore, the operator was NEVER reachable, NO contact, and the address was incorrect. After several attempts, the tour operator responded rudely and blamed us. A disgrace and definitely not recommended! We're young and also saved money on this trip. Canceling would have been the least of our worries! NEVER AGAIN!

If I could put zero stars I would

If I could put zero stars I would. After communicating with another couple who just returned from Norway and got ripped off from this company I decided to hopefully ward off people to not use them.
I had booked a stay at one of their hotels in Flam for one night
Unfortunately I had a health issue and missed our opportunity to use the booking.
When I reached out many times by phone to the Freitheim hotel they absolutely refused to credit our stay to go towards another night at their hotel.
Our friends that we spoke with this evening had a similar situation with a transportation service they needed to change which of course they refused.
Steer clear of this company. They are making money hand over fist and have no idea what true customer service means.

Above and beyond!

We enjoyed a comfortable and truly beautiful fjord cruise through the Nærøyfjord. Most appreciated of all was the crew going out of their way to stop in Undredal the following day to pick up a bag I’d accidentally left behind at the dock! They kindly delivered it to the Flåm visitors center where I retrieved it on my way back through the area later that week. A huge thank you to everyone who helped me out! :)

Unprofessional

Unprofessional. Buses don’t arrive, angry drivers, confusing costumer service. At least the give refunds. DO NOT USE unless you have no other option.

Flam Railway

Great experience. Lovely railway carriage with spectacular views all along the route and a quick stop at the amazing KJosfossen waterfall. Left and arrived on time. Well organised for getting on. Good communication from Norway's Best as well. Thank you.

Worst experience in Norway

Worst experience in Norway! I wanted to book from Flam bikes from Flam for me, my husband and my child (1 years old aged). The website is not clear and get you easily wrong during the booking. I called twice from Italy the unique telephone number I found on the the website to have more informations, the 2 girl which I spoke with were terribly not informed and not sure about what to answer to me. BUT one said to me that I could not attack the child seat to an electric bike , but there were no problem for the child trailer. I AM SURE OF THIS ANSWER. So I booked online 2 electric bikes and 1 child trailer. When we arrived we waited long and then the guy there , in a brutal way, said us that we can use just a normal bike with the trailer. OH NO, but OK I said, if it s not possible to do in other way. But NO REFOUND for the challenge of the bike. I mean, WHY??? The price was already very high, and I didn't want to pay more than was correct. He was ablsolutely not sorry and just said it was explicated in the website (???the website sucks) and said me that the number I called was not right ( ????there were no other numbers)....simply he didn't care.. stay away from them, bicycles are nice but they are NOT CORRECT

Handles issues terribly, aggressive bus driver!!

We booked a cruise from Flam to Gudvangen and the shuttle bus back. The cruise was nice, very windy though.
However on the way back everything went wrong. Apparently, there was an unforeseen problem with a cruise not being able to depart from Gudvangen, so hundreds more people had to take the bus back. This was handled terribly. Bus couldn't handle all the passengers, tickets were never checked, driver refused to leave and kicked out half the people on the bus, threatening to stay there until they left. People waited HOURS longer than necessary to get to Flam.
This is a major problem if you need to get back to a cruise ship before it departs, so plan accordingly or skip this company and its offers to be sure! There is no other option to get from Gudvangen to Flam as both are very small places!!
And worst - the driver not only screamed at people, he also physically pushed one person. We understand he was angry but no situation can justify putting your hands on others like that. Finally, he refused to take them back and left them for another driver.
People were angry and aggressive, so was the driver - horrible experience.

THE WORST NORWEGIAN COMPANY

I suggest them to cut the word "best" from their name. This is a really unethical company. On 7th September, we had a bus booking for 10 adults and 7 children at 1.15pm to go to Gudvangen and visiting the Viking Valley, we also had a booking to back at 2pm. We had been informed that the bus would be 10 minutes late without giving us an official reason. But the ten minutes was actually almost half an hour. During all this time, our children have been in the cold, without eating. Not giving us an exact time of the delay, we couldn't even cancel the other bookings in time. This matter, in addition to ruining our travel plans, caused us a huge loss of money. An ethically correct company cannot ignore this type of disservice without refunding. It's incorrect!! I'm writing on all italian Forum about Norway to avoid this company and I have also contacted MSC Cruise company to not organize excursions with them to respect all scammed Italians. They replied me that they will take measures and will find other ways to organize excursions, as they have already had several complaints by cruise passengers.

Norway's Worst

Norway's Worst. To us at least. Take a little caution of this company. They care nothing for their guests. Our family were forced to cancel our ferry over 24hours before departure due to the August floods making it impossible for us to find a way to the location. It was an official national emergency. The Norway's Best online cancellation options promised a full refund if i cancel. So i did. Turns out the refund promise was a "technical issue" with the english version of the website's cancellation process. They later informed me that their fine print requires 48hours cancellation notice and hence they refused to refund me. What awful company takes no responsibility for their own technical errors and furthermore shows no sympathy in a national disaster. Especially toward guests like us from Africa for which a trip to Norway was extremely expensive and ruined. It's very sad.
