Went to Norcutts in Widnes today. Ate lunch at the restaurant. Food was fabulous and clean premises. Including clean cutlery. Lovely staff, found them to be fast and efficient. Will go again

What a wonderful garden centre in…

What a wonderful garden centre in Featherstone, West Yorkshire you have. Wonderful staff, especially Keren who works in the cafe and The chefs who serve a marvellous breakfast. The centre itself is clean and tidy and has great organised displays. What a joy. All round lovely place to visit and well priced, especially with their privilege card. Pay them a visit we certainly will call again.

A visit to the notcutts victoria yesterday where there is a large selection of plants and gardening equipment. The restaurant had decent selection of food to enjoy which I had the smashed avocado on toast. Leanne, Keren and Hilary and other members of staff which are really good with the grandchildren.

Weekly visit to Notcutts, Ashtonunderlyne.

My husband and myself have been going to Notcutts, Ashton-under-lyne now for over 12 months. The Chefs, all staff are so pleasant and helpful and we enjoy our food better here than anywhere else we visit to eat. 100% in every way. Good Luck to all staff at Notcutts.

Visited Nottcutts (Widnes) today with my mum and had lunch in the cafe (which we have been doing for many years). Cannot tell you how disappointed we were. We both ordered the Ploughmans (which I have had a few times over the years and loved it). The salad was drowning in oil and soaking everything it touched. The crusty bread consisted of 2 x tiny (and I mean laughably tiny for a Ploughmans) slices of ciabatta. The cheese was hard and there was no apple. They have had so much custom from us over the years but never again. Whoever is running the place now is destroying it. I don't mind paying a little bit more if the quality and service are there, but that has long gone. Will never be visiting again.

Caff slow service.

I hope you're not in a hurry because although the servers are charming and friendly they don't seem to all be working . It took ages to get just a white coffee. Less charm more work.

I am a Privilege Member and live locally to Notcutts Garden Centre in Norwich. We spend a fair bit of time there browsing and buying on a regular basis. On a recent visit I had an enquiry about making a compost bin with pallets. I just wanted to thank the person working in the outdoor area for his help and assistance regarding this. He went above and beyond making it an exceptional experience.

Notcutts Tunbridge Wells: Poor Customer Srevice

I bought an outdoor water feature from Notcutts Tunbridge Wells in 2021. It was around £300 and it has now degraded/exfoliated and broken up beyond use. I contacted Notcutts and was informed the product had a 1 year guarantee and that I had probably not followed the care regime. Admittedly I did not cover it nor drain it in winter, nor did I place it indoors nor cover it with a pergola. I simply left it out in the garden. The complaint took ages to get to this point and when I asked Notcutts for the name of the company supplying the product and what had happened to my goodwill gesture from the Notcutts General Manager, Notcutts Customer Care ceased. I am really disappointed in the lack duty of care by Notcutts: to sell products that clearly are not suited to purpose (is it unreasonable to place an outdoor water feature in a prominent garden position?) and to not put their name behind it is hopefully a warning to others when buying similar items. Just know what you are buying and understand the care regime. As for the compensation: well that too is disappointing. From now on all my garden needs will be with anyone other than Notcutts.

Wisteria wallet wipeout

Went to Notcutts Rivendell Widnes looking for wisteria. Trying to get to the gardening section is like being forced through a furniture store IKEA style. It was hard to find wisteria at first but when I did find it I was taken aback at the price. They were £45 and nothing special. I went to another garden centre nearby and for the same size and quality were £15. Before it became Notcutts, Rivendell was a good garden centre, but it seems it wants to be all things to everyone except the garden centre it’s supposed to be. I know garden centres need to diversify but I feel as though this one has taken its eye off the ball.

Dogs in Restaurant

My main gripe was solely that the Norwich store allowed dogs in their restaurant. (Despite supposedly dogs only being allowed in the garden centre!)
One of the dogs was barking which was particularly annoying.

’The Kitchen’ Notcutts Rivingdell.. HORRIFIC!!

’The Kitchen’ Notcutts Rivingdell (Widnes)

The cafe is the sole disappointment of this garden centre.

Limited food options, not a plain cake in sight- all odd flavours, lengthy que times from slow bad attitude ridden staff, food arrives cold or with items missing off the plate, ask for oat milk and receive dairy with a grinch’esque smug purposeful smile from staff (good job there’s been no allergy reactions!), staff un-groomed & unhygienic, tables rammed too close to one another, bad manners and rudeness from staff and clearly a toxic work culture for all customers to see.

Whatever change has come in the last year or so, really needs urgently to be reversed and undone.

This once pleasant little corner to disappear and melt away is now full of young staff and their egos and attitudes and worse management that don’t rein it in.

Tables are now so close that customers cannot engage in a private conversation with their friends and family without the neighbouring table eavesdropping or commenting too. It’s so disappointing. Whoever has made the changes really has NO CLUE what customers actually want.

Imagine complaining because your food not only arrived cold but WITH THE SERVERS FINGERS IN !! Then being pointed out to other staff on your next visit because you had complained and them purposely serving you and your guests at snail pace with snarls. . .

There’s a garden centre literally a 3min drive away. It’s not as good and the cafe isn’t as nice- but it’s clean & staff are politer!

Overpriced.

Visited the Notcutts store in Wakefield and purchased five lanterns, very disappointed to call at another garden centre later in the day to see the lanterns £5.00 each cheaper, if we didn’t live so far away we would have returned the lanterns. The discount cards offering 10% is a joke all prices are hiked therefore no real discount.

Over priced and very poor quality food - best avoided

The food at the restaurant is dreadful. It is vastly over priced and we were so unimpressed that we were on the verge of rteurning it and asking for our money back. The fish and chips was an appaling waste of money. The portion of the actual fish was tiny but the batter ound it was tasteless and hugely over cooked. The chips were mushy, not well cooked and tasted as if the oil they were cooked in hadn't been changed in ages. A bottle of coke was outragiously over priced and the steak melt in a bread roll wasn't wort half of what they cahrged for it. Again the chips were mushy and undercooked and tasted as if the oil needed changing. What a complete waste of money this meal was. We would never return to the restaurant. The Garden Centre part was not a lot better with everything being about a third more expensive than the same item can be bought elsewhere. This place is a rip=off joint, the food is dreadful and not on our list of places to ever visit again.

Dreadful customer service

I purchased 4 hydrangea plants last summer. 3 survived 1,which cost almost £30 died a death! Contacting the Riverdale branch I was advised by a very helpful gent to take photos of it and bring them into the store and ask for Rob in the garden section. This I did along with the photos of the surviving plants. Rob wasn't available but my details were taken by an assistant and told Rob would contact me. Dispite calling them 4 days later we are now 11 days later and still no response. Dreadful customer service. Will be shopping at British Gardens just up the road from them from now on
