Heaven help you if you lose your…

Heaven help you if you lose your downloaded copy of Dragon or other software by Nuance. Their customer service (administered through Digital River) will not help you while at the same time making the pretence of answering emails without solving the download problem. Obviously a ploy to make you purchase their expensive software again.

They tricked me out of my money...

Their deceptive marketing practice tricked me into paying for their software, as though I was "buying" the software, but later found out they were only selling limited usage, which I found out when my original download and registration serial no longer worked. I got the run-around in their customer service section, they did not seem to read what I was saying but seemed to be copy-pasting cookie cutter responses not relevant to my complaint. Could not be bothered wasting any more time with them as they were demonstrating their attitude clearly enough, I easily found more alternatives to their software and bought one of those instead. Will never trust buying anything from this company again, and just want to warn everyone so you don't fall victim to the same scam that I did.

I would give less than 1 star if I…

I would give less than 1 star if I could.

I recently upgraded my PC (actually, virtual PC on a Mac, using VMware). When I tried to download and reinstall Dragon 14 I got a message saying too much time had passed and the download was not allowed. Yes, I made the purchase 5 years ago, but they are only one version past this in development. Most any other s/w vendor would accommodate this in my experience.

I had to call for support and talk to people whose English was difficult to understand (and I am used to dealing with accents). They extended my ability to download, but (after support mail not coming as promised, another call, password reset not taking effect immediately leading to errors, etc.) I accidentally started a download on my Mac. I cancelled that and started it on the PC instance, and got a message that another download would not be allowed.

Other vendors check for license activation to control for unauthorized use of a product. Instead it seems Nuance chooses to make if difficult to download. The support people told me to "make a copy" to avoid needing a download in the future. How simple is it to make a copy of installed software? How am I to be sure I have copied all needed files? How do I reinstall successfully from such a copy? My problem, not theirs I guess.

I have found the product very useful, but I won't continue to bang my head against the wall with this crappy support. I'm done using Dragon.

Same old tripe from Dragon

Same old tripe from Dragon. This is the third time I have bought it and the same old problems remain. Its slows down or simply disables many of the functions of your PC, it only occasionally works faster than typing and you spend hours trying re-load functions (like dictating in Word!) which regularly disable themselves. Any efficiencies it provides are lost. Crap

Poor customer service

Poor customer service. Refused support for an older version that had been barely used as I had for a time a work laptop, but having paid around 300 euro for the product. My laptop broke and customer service refused to assist and permit an upgrade. This means a full 300 plus euro purchase of the new product version. I have been using Dragon since 2012 for RSI. Needless to say I will be seeking other voice dictation options.

Ex employee knows the scoop

I wouldn’t buy any of their products because as a former employee I can testify to the fact that they treat everyone like dirt except upper management. Stay away!

The only reason I bought this product…

The only reason I bought this product was because they offered a 30 day money back guarantee according to the information at the top of their UK website. I have tried to return the product within the 30 days only to be told that the money back guarantee did not apply to the UK and I was sent a link to their small print. Really outrageous sharp practice that Nuance are getting away with
DO NOT BUY

Unable to download after purchase. Awful technical support

I purchased Dragon Professional a few months ago and had to re-install due to my computer crashing. I tried to re-download via looking up my order, but the download button sent me to a broken link at Digital River. I called Nuance technical support and they extended my download time, but I get the same IP address not found error when trying to download. I called Digital River and they were unable to help. The rep at Digital River got the same error message I got when trying the link. Then he asked me to check my internet connection?! I said I can get to all other sites just like you - you get the same error message. Then he asked me to try again in a few minutes because the server might be down. I have been trying multiple times past few days. I escalated it to their supervisor. Also unable to help. They have to forward to their technical support team. Agree with other reviews, stay away - once they have your money, their technical support is awful.

I have say right now I am very…

I have say right now I am very unsatisfied with your company at this time - I have owned Dragon Speak since 8/2/19 - This past weekend I had a unrecoverable hard drive crash - I have installed a new hard drive and am now trying to reinatall your product - I keep getting the error that the key is not vailid... I contacted support and am now being told that i have to repurchase a new key at 150 dollars. UNACCEPTABLE !!!!! This software is being reinstalled on the same computer and now I have to spend another 150.. Yea no.. I think that I will be taking to the air waves to make anyone that will listen. that this is how this company runs. I shouldnt have to repurchase a new key.. Windows dosnt make you repurchase a key for a hard drive failure... SHAME ON YOU for this practice.. I guess now I will take to the air waves to make folks aware of your company policies... pretty shady as far as I am concerned and I hope that you choke on the orginal purchase !!! O

Nuance gouge the poor and suck suck suck at support. Spend elsewhere!!! Google speech is Free!

So i bought a copy of their older software, it works well enough and since I am unemployed I thought I could save a few bucks to get my resume's done etc since I have RSI. They flat refused to support me unless I bought the $300 version. I want to say many expletives but their actions spoke so loud. I have used them for over 15 years, now I hope that free transcription software drives them out of business. They literally said "your problem unless you pay an extra $200 for a pro license". Wow.

Update: A kind soul locally let met get a copy of the old installation package and I used my serial number to activate it.

Absolute scam

Absolute scam. They rob you. Tried to get the "free" trial but you have to enter our credit card infiormation. Then upon clicking the submit button, youre taken to an error page:

"Server Error
Error:
We are unable to perform the selected action. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Error Number: SIT_000002"

I tried a couple more times. Same thing. Then I got curious. I checked my bank, and sure another enough. I was charged THREE times! $450.00!! I trie=d custumer service. They said they were going to =contact their accounting department. A WEEK later, it till hasn't been resolved and I'm still $450 short. I keep trying customer service but theyre difficult to get through.

STAYYYYY. AWAYYYY. BY ALL MEANS!!! I REPEAT. STAYYYYYY AWAYYYYY!!!!

Customer Services is appalling!

Customer Services is appalling!

I contacted Technical Support, who kept passing my emails to the Sales department - even though it was a technical issue. Eventually, the Sales department suggested I contact Technical Support!

They didn't even get the right name on the email reply!

Nuance has terrible software

Nuance has terrible software. Just paid $150 for Dragon Anywhere software. The microphone button on iPhone will not start dictation. Nuance ought to leave the business. Sorry software and tech support is useless. Just go around in circles of "nothing working."

Over the years I had bought Nuance PDF…

Over the years I had bought Nuance PDF Reader, Nuance PDF Converter Pro, OmniPage Pro, paperPort and Dragon Naturally Speaking. Changed computers so deleted them from my laptop then have tried to re-install them on my new desk-top but have been flagged that I have exceeded my limits. The older one will no longer download. I liked my PDF reader but hardly used Omnipage Pro and PaperPort. Gave up on Dragon Naturally as there are better ones on the internet for free. Will stay away from this company in the future. Other companies have let me download with no problems as long as it was deleted then re-installed and I had the serial number. Some companies even had the codes online in
my account and have never refused me a download no matter.
