Naoufal and the whole Agadir team were amazing!

Naoufal and the whole Agadir team were amazing—very transparent and incredibly helpful. They were flexible with my payment methods, especially since my Argentine credit card didn’t work. They stayed with me at the airport until everything was sorted out, which I really appreciated. Super kind and supportive. Thank you so much for everything—hope to see you again soon!

won’t make that mistake again

Well,
much like other's complaints ,, they definitely try to whistle past the graveyard as you initial for extra fees, but i’m not sure it’s a whole lot worse than other rental experiences i’ve had.

pretty simple. if you wanna wait for a train, then wait for a shuttle, then 10 minutes to the ghetto of Phoenix, and wait in line for 20 -40 minutes to save MAYBE $100, then this is a good place to go

Scandless and unethical company

Scandless and unethical company. They rent you a car then transfer it to another company amd then transfer to another. Needed up at u-save in Tampa. Forcing people into buying insurance or having g to put a $2000.00 deposit on the car. So if ypu don't have a limit like that you're forced to but insurance. I sat there while they scammed three people in front of me and then I said wow this seems scandleless. Then the lady kicked me out and refused to rent me a car. No refund nothing.

Thanks for your response. To all who read this. They did not refund me. I disputed this with my credit card company and they were unsuccessful because the have a no refund no one cares or gives a S policy.

Terribly overpriced with hidden fees!!

Terribly overpriced with hidden fees!!! We will never be renting from this car rental again. When we asked more questions and pushed back a little on what the staff was saying (shouldn't this be our right as customers!!) we were then told that they will not rent a vehicle to us. Another person in our party had to do a separate rental because our party of 8 was now stranded!!!! In the end we paid 3x what we should have!!!! NEVER RENT FROM NU CAR RENTALS!!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. HORRIBLE PRICES AND SOOOOOO MANY HIDDEN FEES!!!

Just where are the shuttle buses

There was construction out at the airport and it was not very clear where shuttle pick-up was. I was concerned that I would be late for my car reservation and was not sure I was in the right area. I called NU and got Adeel. He assured me that my reservation would be good and confirmed the location of the shuttle bus. He even followed up with me to make sure I was on the bus and enroute. He was kind courteous and proactive to my situation. My vehicle was also upgraded to my surprise!
His professionalism is greatly appreciated!

Not great. Not cheaper.

Well, booked in Expedia. It looked significantly lower than the other rental companies. There are additional steps to take to get to the car rental place, including a shuttle. Annoying. Ok if it's $200 cheaper than the others... great. guess what? It's not cheaper. The ending invoice I thought and was told I'd get my deposit back on, I'm not getting. It is literally the same price as the others and the others do not have all the annoying hoops to jump through. Book at the places at the car rental place, not this place.

My car needed servicingNu car rental so…

My car needed servicing, so I booked with Nu car rental online, only because the price was right. I paid in advanced. However when I arrived tp pick up the vehicle, I could already tell the Latino man at the front desk was a racist, just by the way he greeted us. We rented a simple compact car with no bells or whistles. Just to get around until my car was repaired. The front service man told us we had to pay a 2 thousand security deposit before renting. Making it difficult for us. I told him I have rented in the past & never heard such requirements. If you do not want to be racially discriminated upon & unfairly treated. DO NOT rent any vehicles from this company!! Terrible buisness pratice. Depending on what you look like is how you are charged a security deposit!!

Don’t rent from Nu

Oh my god I wish I had read these reviews before renting! This rental company closes at 7 pm, so if your flight is delayed, you’re out of luck. I ended paying twice as much with over costs, than I would have if I rented with a credible company. The old adage is true, If It looks to good to be true….

Horrible company

Horrible company. They charge hidden fees for adding supplemental insurance and prepaid fuel. They don't tell you that you have to pay several additional taxes and fees that you already paid for the car rental. Also, customer service was not good. Avoid this company like the plague. To the one positive comment that said ignore the outdated negative comments lol, this issue happened on 4/19/2026!

New car rentals has misleading prices…

New car rentals has misleading prices pushed insurance sales pushed toll sales they quoted me 2299 for an extension and as I went to pay it didn't let me get in one of the managers said that that price was incorrect it was $44.99 in which I explained to him that I was going to give him an evaluation on this matter business he acted if though he didn't care when I finished talking to him he said $44.99 and if I didn't want to pay that for me to bring the car back and forget about it and without that was very unprofessional of the stipulations where you can't drive the car out of state and you are the only one that can drive the vehicle being told this after rental I thought was insane their prices are very misleading if you are thinking about renting from new car rental think twice if I had the option again new car rental would not be my choice.

SCAM ALERT!

SCAM ALERT!! STAY AWAY!! NU Car Rentals has many surprise fees. Expedia told us the rental would cost $574 - it was roughly $1000! Expect hidden fees, and don't expect to understand them.

Do NOT use this car rental company

Do not use this car rental company. There is absolutely no refund on any cancelation. You can accidentally make a reservation for the wrong day or time, two months in advance, and yoy will not be refunded your money. If you carefully read their policy, all reservations are non-refundable, no matter what the issue. They would not even let me use the funds to reserve another car two weeks later. I canceled months before my original reservation date. They should be reported to the BBB and Expedia should no longer offer their cars.

Buyer Beware - Illegal Practices Going On at NU CAR

I prepaid for a 3 day rental through Hotwire. But when I picked up the car, the rental agent did not provide a written agreement at time of pickup and signed me up for additional options I did not want, with no explanation of costs (other than pre-pay gas). He superimposed my initials onto a “contract” which I received by email AFTER I returned the car. They also said I returned it late, at 10:47am, even though the agent told me that I had till 11am. In fact, there was no discussion of pricing except for the pre-pay gas option. Nothing was provided in writing at time of pickup (which is against Arizona law). They said they have video footage but refused to let me see it, or even a transcript of what was said. The entire process was deceptive and not transparent at all. After I explained all this to their customer service, going back and forth, they still refused to budge. So I filed a complaint with both the Arizona Dept of Insurance and the FTC.

The worst car rental experience I've ever had…

This was the worst experience I've had renting cars for over 50 years. I had reserved the Wild Card based on an ad that said it would be similar to an economy or compact car. When I arrived, "all [they] had" was an 8-passenger van. I drive a very small car and did not have the skill set to drive that large of a car in an area I don't know. I was then stuck renting a more expensive car. THEN they started adding all the additional taxes...so a car I had budgeted $400 for (including insurance and stated online taxes) ended up costing close to $700! This company wins the prize for the worst car rental company going. A complete bait and switch, not only on the car type, but in final cost add-ins that make no sense to anyone than them. Add to that they are NOT at the airport rental center...it's a 15-minute drive from the rental center to a rundown past-hotel they use, so no matter what they throw at you, you're stuck accepting it since there's no other rental companies to check with. On the drive back to the airport our driver slammed on the breaks so hard at a red light that my flight bag went flying through the van, spraying its contents everywhere...we were all scared to death. This guy should not be behind the wheel of a passenger van. Painful lesson learned by using this discount brand...and one that wound up being more expensive than the trusted brands. Won't happen again.

If I could give less than zero

If I could give less than zero, I would. This company is the biggest rip off that I have ever encountered. There were so many "hidden fees" that the car rental cost more than our accommodation. Please do not put yourself in the position of working with them if you want a positive experience. I have never encountered any company as shady as them and I advise the airlines and VRBO to stop doing business with them

Scam!

Awful, what a scam! What a way to sour the end of a beautiful vacation. My family rented a compact car in the Azores for 7 days. We took proper car of the car and did our due diligence before leaving the airport parking lot and took videos of the car. When we returned the car the was normal dirt on the floor mats from being used for a week, I was told we were going to be charged a cleaning fee. I was so upset I knew this was wrong I went in the car and shook out all the mats and they said I would still be charged and I should have taken the car and vacuumed it before returning it, they said look at the sign inside the car “you need to return it as you received it.” They basically will charge you if it looks like you used the car at all during your rental. It’s such a scam! I went in the airport and tried to talk to the associate at the car rental counter but they too were in on the scam. They said most of their customers go and vacuum out their cars before returning, what BS! I’ve never rented a car and had to clean lite dirt off the floor before returning in order to not be charged! Who would think to do this on vacation?! I filed a formal complaint at the airport because I was getting nowhere with this god awful company. Fyi the rental deposit was over 1500eu and they were threatening if I didn’t pay the cleaning fee they wouldn’t give me my security deposit back. Stay away from renting from this company, shame on them!
