Rude staff and poor practices

The online portal they offer to report problems with the property is really intuitive but the staff are inefficient and rude.

When we initially moved in there was no Ethernet port installed and when I rang to confirm, the woman on the phone rudely affirmed that I needed to look at all the walls because there absolutely was. I was told 'they were installed in all the flats at that postcode last year'. I then had to arrange with Virgin Media to have one installed and Oasis took no responsibility for misinformation.

They also advised that we had no access to the gas metre and would have to request metre readings. Despite more than 13 emails regularly requesting that someone give us a reading, they failed to respond on most occasions and the ones they did respond to, they assured me 'they had booked in a handy man' - this was a complete lie. The only reading I received was already 2 weeks old by the time they emailed me so wasn't something I could realistically provide. By the end of the year, energy readings were wildly off and meant we had to spend quite a lot of money on our final bill.

The handymen who came out to fix things were very helpful but would come on wrong days. This also happened often with the cleaning ladies (something you can't opt out of - a scam to charge more for rent) and they were also very rude, loud and even criticised my tattoos?? When I confronted Oasis about the fact that they're legally obligated to give us 24 hours notice of a visit, they blamed the cleaning service and handymen for messing up the days.

At the end of the year when we provided all the evidence possible that our utility accounts we closed, they ignored me for over a week until we called and were advised that we needed one more statement - this then apparently wasn't efficient which meant our deposit has taken so long to sort.

My biggest grievance is that they don't apologise or take accountability for messing up. Most of the staff are fine honestly but there's one woman who is unbelievably rude on the phone.

All student lettings are pretty much bad in Leeds but I really recommend you pick someone else. Rent is extremely expensive for what you get.

Don't use Oasis

Oasis were very slow at doing any repairs if they even did them .At one point the students were using lots of pans to stop a leak flooding the room.
When sent home from university closure because of Covid 19 they refused to make any compromise on rent and unused utilities costing the students over £12000 (twelve thousand pounds) for nothing

Fantastic friendly staff

We were 4 girls who wanted everything when looking at a house and for the 2nd year running oasis have managed to find us our perfect home. They refused to give up on us and put all their efforts and patience into finding us the perfect home. Danielle was fab at knowing instantly exactly what we wanted and could just pluck names of relevant homes off the top of her head for us. Whilst looking round the homes and being in the shop the friendly atmosphere was lovely which made house hunting enjoyable with them. Danny also refused to give up on us as he sat in the office over many days searching desperately to find us the perfect home. When signing for our perfect home Carys gave very clear instructions to what we needed to do and made the paperwork side of things simple. Lovely staff who always smile and create a friendly comfortable atmosphere which made house hunting enjoyable! Thank you oasis!!

Never use Oasis Properties

Please do not use Oasis Properties. They are full of empty promises, conveniently never written down, and will be consistently rude throughout your time dealing with them. The manager, James Rosenburg, is condescending and patronising, and has been rude to us (the tenants) on several occasions. When we first viewed the house in February, and saw the horrific state it was in, we were promised that it would be completely refurbished (from top to bottom), sadly this was only a verbal agreement, but it was the sole reason we signed the damp smelling house. We then visited the house soon after we started paying rent for the house (early July) and the house was in the same state as it was in February, we were reassured that this was because they had not had enough time to clean and repair since the previous tenants had moved out (I believe this is bad practice anyway, as we should be able to move in from the date we started paying rent). Several major issues such as the mouldy lino on the kitchen floor took months to be fixed and the majority of the issues (such as the disgusting state of the house) had not been resolved when we moved into the property on the 17th of September, even though Oasis had written notice of the issues since early July. We have had major issues in the house such as roof/wall leaks, the shower leaking through a smoke detector, the boiler breaking leaving us with no hot water or heating for several days and air trapped in our heating system creating a horrifically loud banging noise (to name but a few issues). I would never rent from them again and I have been actively encouraging others to not even contemplate renting or even looking at the properties they let.

Unacceptable, unprofessional waste of space

My advice to anyone renting a property in Leeds is to avoid this company at all costs. They do not care, make false promises and are only interested in your money. Students, check carefully who the landlord of the property is before putting any money down. Do not trust what they say, and do not be pressured into a property - there are loads of properties available. Shop around, check licences, certificates and previous tenant testimonies. It saves a lot of heartache and money taking your time!

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL - DO NOT USE

Properties are in a bad state of repair, fixtures and fittings are a disgrace. White goods (if they work at all) are in a poor condition and filthy, property not cleaned from previous tenant. But previous tenant has had cleaning deducted from their deposit (I know this as they were friends). Requests for repairs fall on deaf ears. They are not interested. I had a leak through my bedroom ceiling from the bathroom above for months and it still has not been repaired. Several of my friends rented through Oasis and all have been ripped off for return of deposit with no explanation and emails and phone calls are ignored. Male staff members are rude, arrogant, slimy and downright nasty. Customer service is non existent. I would not recommend and would advise everyone to avoid at all costs.

not helpful and not friendly

Oasis Properties have not helped us in any way with the many issues that we have faced in the property and have been overall quite unpleasant in dealing with all the tenants.

Always quick to put down the phone and always giving half hearted efforts in contacting our landlord (that we are not allowed to know) regarding the emergencies e.g. leaks we have found in the house.

Not good enough

Me and 7 others are renting a property in Leeds, when we got shown the house for the first time we loved it, and therefore put our deposit down, with £75 admission to Oasis. We then wanted to see the house one more time before we moved in, in July, Oasis did not organise this viewing and instead we had to arrange it ourselves with the current occupants. The lady who showed us round at first failed to show us the bathroom which leaked brown water as well as letting us know the plumbing is not suitable for 8 of us and that parts of the kitchen weren't working correctly, and that the house did not support double glazing windows, we went into oasis after and "apparently" she knew various problems but obviously did not choose to tell us. Once they got our deposit I feel as if then they did no longer care nor carry on satisfactory customer service.

really helpful and do the best they can.....

Lived with Oasis for a year and the property has had its ups and downs, which are believe to be more the landlord than the agents few teething problems in the beginning after being told certain works would be completed before we moved in and wasn't, Katy the lady we deal with is great always polite even when we have been tough customers. I have rebooked with Oasis this year however it is a bit of a shame I had to repay the admin fee after not missing/having a late payment for whole year, and I hope if we decide to stay in the same property again next year this will happen again.

Wouldn't recommend

First off the woman who showed us around was lovely, she showed us around an alternative house to the one we wanted to see and we all ended up putting our deposit down on it. However when it came the woman at the desk who seems more infatuated with her dog than the customers is a nasty piece of work. Me and my friends have had to experience her on more than one occasion being unesessarly rude to us. I have never experienced customer service like it. I can assure you that we will be not be signing with this estate agent again and we have told others not to as well

Brilliant, such nice staff and so helpful

We had previously looked at a few properties with other agencies and weren't really happy with anything we found, or even the help we were given from other agents. When we arrived at Oasis, Kat welcomed us straight away and instantly found out what kind of property we were looking for and what we did and didn't want. We have just signed for a property today that she showed us after falling in love with it. Kat was so lovely and helpful and was really enthusiastic about helping us find the perfect property which you don't get from many letting agents!! I would 100% recommend oasis even though we have only just signed with them today!

Great Service

We came to look at getting a student house in February & the staff at Oasis were really knowledgable & helpful. They weren't at all pushy but listened to what we wanted & we ended up signing for a house that was exactly what we were looking for. We can't wait to move in. I would definitely recommend Oasis Properties.

They are unorganised and don't respond to emails. Just hope we have no issues with them once we move into our house.
