Customer Service and Exchange

Parts delivered first did not fit, but more my own fault , so return and repurchase was seamless, Great products, great customer service. I will be back again.

Great quality goods but the import prices buying in the UK is painful

When we got our covers, they were a fantastic quality and really feel like they will protect the engines. However, as stated on their website, any order over 135£ will not include vat, this meant that, in our case, there was a long process of the items being stuck in customs, the parcel supplier they suggested was to be used was not correct and excessive customs charges were placed on top of the vat. By the time they were released, we realised that one of the covers was wrong (they had advised us that this was the only one for that engine) so we had to return it. Rather than exchange it, they insisted on a refund, ignoring a letter of request that we included with the return and now we're faced with going through the whole process again with the excessive customs hassle. They also only refunded the cost of the item so I have to go back to evidence and recover the customs charges myself... So the returns are far from easy. I've given 3 stats because the covers are good. The service is appalling. There's no excuse, many other companies have got their international shipping together.

Unfortunately, as a company, we are unable to influence the customs regulations and procedures in your country. The VAT exemption for orders over £135 is a regulation set by your government, and we are not in a position to change or reclaim the associated costs from the customs authorities.

We work with reliable delivery partners, but once the package reaches your country, the clearance and delivery process is handled by the local customs and delivery services. We regret that this has led to delays and additional costs in your case.

We hope that you appreciate the quality of our motor covers and that they provide the necessary protection for your engines.

Company on autopilot heading to rocks - UPDATE FOR oceansouth.de

Created an account with EU vat for invoicing, added items to the cart, send an email to ask for an item's availability. Never got an answer back, my account got suspended, I tried to create another account and now they do not allow my VAT (I think due to country(GR) and not specifically my VAT) to procced with creating the account. Send an email to support and never got an answer back either. Terrible experience. Avoid if you can.

Do your buying from oceansouth.de and not from oceansouth.com.

They were really helpful and my order delivered faster than expected, as I understand .de runs the EU market.

I was expecting better delivery…

I was expecting better delivery service. I haven't received product yet. very poor and slow service from delivery company

Bought 3 items from ocean south based…

Bought 3 items from ocean south based in Bremen Germany.
Had them shipped to UK.
2 items seem quite sub standard however, the other item, a 3 step stainless access ladder did not arrive. In its place, there was a Optimist dinghy full cover. I didn’t ask for this, I didn’t pay for this, I don’t own an Optimist dinghy.
They refuse to communicate with us and we have even tried phoning their head office in USA.
We got a cursory “thank you” from USA.
So, no ladder and a useless boat cover

Never again will I buy from this tormented company.

Slow response from the back office

Slow response from the back office. I have called numerous times, left messages and sent an e-mail as I needed to check on the order that was sent. But there had been no response from them yet.
