Deplorable and hypocritical company

I will start this off by saying that the labs/course teaches you to use tools that are archived and abandoned they are so old.

That is, they expect you to introduce decades old unsupported software into your machine, master it, and open your own machine up to security issues while ignoring the modern tools you should be learning.

What's really great about their outsourced support is they show up an hour late to your exam and decide that day when you'll start with less time because of issues they can't solve or escalate, and also don't even mention until it's 7:00am and your exam started an hour ago.

They outsourced all of their staff to the Phillipines and other countries so your support chats, ID photos, and all personal data is unprotected, they were reluctant to share this and consider this question "abusive". They have literally no respect for their customers data whatsoever and are not transparent, even remotely about their use of your data.

The script they make you run sends your computer's everything to them. SSID's, your disk volumes, interfaces, everything they need to make a hefty profit on your identity while giving nothing back to you.

They force you to run the script for exam proctoring and also watch you through their camera while never turning theirs on, letting you know your place and further dehumanizing you. They record you and your whole room and can't be bothered to show you their ID or who they even are.

They then cancel you for any reason at their discretion if you dare dissent, despite doing so in total compliance with their policy, which is vague at best.

It's hard to process this actually happened, after taking my money, my data for ransom, They suggested my "ID doesn't check out". This is despite it being legal and lawful when I paid, authenticated to their labs/content, and scheduled the exam. My credit card says the same name, they have been billing me for two years. They have my linkedin, CISSP id, multiple public means of validating who I am. They cancelled my exam that I woke up at 4am for, after showing up late, and dropping easter egg after easter egg on me about my data privacy and they did so after ghosting the chat entirely for almost 20minutes.

No proof of their claim, no direct link to their policy etc. This was all because their data was corrupt, something visible to me from my end of the portal. Their admins made nonstop errors and there is no way of fixing it on my end, as there is no human support channel of any kind practically. I had to reach out on linkedin and beg them to delete my account, credit cards, data and still havent heard back.

They are holding my payment data and identity ransom to this day after billing me thousands, and I can't end a 19.99 dollar a month subscription fee which I am now forced to call my bank and report as fraud.

This is unforgivably bad software design with almost no thought given to the customer. My family and I are aghast at our breach of privacy and trust.

**Process that; they automated their support away with AI and outsourcing but don't allow their exam users to use AI of any kind, even ones baked into browsers and search engines.. We aren't allowed to use tools they make you pay to learn to use in their course. Tools that take up many weeks of training are for nothing..This is complete insanity and denial of reality and I am only just now realizing this lunacy of this institution.

I can't even delete my own payment data from their immutable back end, end a subscription or fix clerical errors they made about my name and employer. It's one thing to hack together a VM, but your whole site?

How is your slogan "Try Harder" when you yourselves are not trying at all?

Extremely poor service

Tried on multiple occasions to have a call they setup to book the unlimited training.
On every occasion they failed to attend their meetings. The latest they emailed with updates and reminders. For me to sit there on a meeting with no offsec representative. Emailed the individual to see if they were attending to get an auto reply Out of Office. The Sales / Customer Service is appalling.

You best hope nothing comes up

I started this course last year in a bid to move career. I had my eye on the OSCP course for a while so saved the last of my redundancy money and bought the year subscription. It was going well for a few weeks then my dad had a heart attack, then another which resulted in surgery. Not a big deal but then my mum and aunty were both diagnosed with cancer which has taken over and made study near impossible. I emailed offsec to give the situation and got a terribly generic response which essentially boiled down to "tough, we have your money so just do it".

The course itself is fantastic but the support and staff are all bottom tier. It would cost them nothing to give out an extension.

So a word of warning if you're considering paying out your own pocket, you will get no support if something comes up so you best hope life doesn't decide to go sideways.

I was going to give them 2 but it's 2023 and mental health is very important so 1 star it is.

Bottom line for me is that I will go elsewhere in the future and steer everyone away from offsec.
