Contractors look out, save your money
I took a membership with Onlinetradesmen after a sales call from them promising access to a steady stream of customers looking for construction works. In reality most of the numbers did not exist as I found out after numerous wasted phone calls. In the few cases were I was able to get through to contact numbers posted on their website the people told me they had been inundated by calls from contractors despite the website claiming that only three contractors would be given the number. These three supposedly being the three who paid the most for it. When I contacted them to complain I was offered more ‘credits’ to buy so I could gain access to more none existent contacts.This is a very shabby service. I would recommend any contractors considering it to save their money. Total waste of time.

Avoid Greenkey Construction !!
I used Liam O Brien of Greenkey Construction who is heavily promoted on online tradesman to do an attic conversion recently. I have the contract which he sent in early Oct. I now have the texts/emails proving he abandoned the job after I complained about him not fulfilling the terms of the contract.
I paid 35k (have receipts) in 4 installments. There was 6.5k remaining. The job ran 4 weeks over. 17k was for labour and his workers didn't do full day's which was admitted in a text from him. They clocked out early every day and the work was full of avoidable snags. Despite the job running over he never once got the staff to put more hours in. It was the bare minimum from them. They were also filthy and left dust everywhere constantly.
I asked him over and over via email and text to put the hours in as I specifically chose him as a contracter based on his online credentials and the time frame he said in the contract it would be done. He just kept asking for money for stuff that wasn't done and refused in the end to come back unless i paid ANOTHER 5k which I couldn't, in good confidence after the service I'd received. I asked him to complete the job and I'd pay the last 6.5k (confirmed in writing) and he abandoned the job and left all the rubbish behind despite 3k being charged and paid for waste removal in the contract. He is the most arrogant man who just keeps requesting money despite not putting the hours in or using true professionals.
The public need to know as he advertises himself everywhere as being a 'master builder. He left my garden like a junk yard full of rubbish and took the 3k waste removal. An utter conman and I have the pictures/emails to prove it.
**edit** just had another builder in a few weeks later to finish the job he abandoned, and was told the electrics were shocking! When you turned on one existing light all the lights in the attic conversion switched off (have video evidence), because he put it all on the one mains apparently. The electrician cut important wires and ALL had to be redone this week. And liam had the neck to threaten me with legal action just after New Years for telling the truth about him and his disgraceful work.

I had Sean Murray Carpentry fit a floor in my home. He did an excellent job from start to finish. He fitted the floors as requested to go under all kitchen units and island, lifted and replaced all the skirting boards. The 2 guys worked so hard to get the job completed in one day.
