I booked a ticket for €118 with Opodo

I booked a ticket for €118 with Opodo. After a few weeks, I discovered a hidden charge of €99.99 for a ‘Prime’ subscription, which I never agreed to. There was no clear option or consent at booking. I contacted their support for 20 minutes, and they only offered a partial refund. This feels like a hidden scam. Please beware when using Opodo to avoid such surprise charges!

Oporto is a cone masters company which…

Oporto is a cone masters company which gain access to people bank account by subscription with promises that you can cancel it any time and that where it’s fun starts. You can not cancel it on line, when you call operator they have technical issues and scam is going on and on and on (in my case it’s has been two years) and to get you of the phone they lying to you with empty promises or put phone down. The worst company for resolving issues!!!! Stay away from OPODO if you want to save money and kip your sanity!!! Because they will be taking your money again and again.

No refund after cancelled flight

After a flight was cancelled by an airline (SAS),

1. Opodo did not acknowledge the cancellation on their site: the booking was still live, and O. kept sending me offers to buy particular seats, luggage, book cars, etc;
2. Opodo did not pursue the refund (message: "contact the airline yourself");
3. Opodo did not pass the refund to me ("we did not receive the refund"), even through the airline confirmed the transfer of funds by email;
3. When trying to contact Opodo Customer Service, the chat-bot puts you on indefinite hold, suggesting you call them ("calls are answered instantly");
4. The phone number is not tool-free: the call is to a UK number, which is answered by a bot which puts you on hold for 10+ minutes ("we're experiencing an unusually high number...") - costing you money in foreign connection fees;
5. Eventually the call is redirected to a call center in India (or Pakistan)...
6. ... which cuts off half-way though the conversation.

In the meantime Opodo is filling up my inbox with Prime offers...

+++++++++++

Email, 2026.04.20: We assure you that we are actively monitoring the situation and have highlighted your case for priority attention.
Chatbot, 2026.04.20: I took a look and cannot see any refund requests related to this booking.

Stress testing of customer support not…

Stress testing of customer support not looking good.
Firstly, I understand these are difficult times. But that's why people pay fees to professional experts to act as their agents.
Unfortunately, irrespective of the practical frustrations regarding multiple cancelled flights within my booking, your support infrastructure leaves a lot to be desired.
1) the bot is horrible - useless and irrelevant, and poorly designed
2) the support chats are only slightly better, and I put this down mostly to poor training and organisation, rather than failings of individual staff. A few points:
a) None of the agents seems willing to check even a couple of lines of text in the chat above for information (as with the bot), so lots of time wasting and frustration / stress
b) Agents are simply far too verbose and far too ineffectual. They are clearly following a script which has them constantly spurt oleaginous inanities, instead of actually addressing customer needs. At the same time, when they don't know the answer to something, instead of saying so, they dodge the question and respond with more wordy platitudes.
c) It was unclear to me that the people who actually know anything are not with this team, but with the "edreams" team. This team was even harder to reach.
Net resuIt: have spent around 10 hours in the last 6 days in conversation with Opodo support, and the sum total of useful time spent was a handful of minutes.

Be careful

Be careful! Once you use them, they take your card details and charge you for a membership...Somehow they had card details of my business cards as well.

Dishonesty and no integrity

Please do not be conned into having anything to do with this company. I made the mistake of signing up and then when I called to cancel they offered a 70% discount to keep the account. It seemed easier to do so and so I agreed, specifically asking them not to automatically renew the year after. Yes, you guessed it I had an email 3days ago gloating about my subscription at a cost of £99. Now bear in mind that I've never ever used this service they are claiming that I've bought a ticket through them and that's the reason I've been charged. I've asked for proof because I KNOW I haven't. I've asked to cancel and they suggested that I leave the account as it is and they would provide me with an alternative refund and a voucher. I specifically asked if I cancel auto renew would this effect the offer and they said "no" and so I cancelled the auto renew and left the account as it were , or so I thought. When I have pressed for a refund for a service I have never used and didn't want they told me that the account was cancelled and so nothing can be done.
I asked for call recordings, proof of ticket and the like but they never answer any direct request but simply regurgitate the same emails about how they are sorry for the inconvenience.
The company is a disgrace and has absolutely no morals or integrity and certainly isnt a company I recommend anyone to do business with. The underhand tactics to get a £99 subscription is beyond belief. I will persevere in getting my money back out of principle.

Please please please stay away from this company.
