Today it was an absolute idiot conductor on the train between Kalmar and Emmaboda, who harrased my child because she has got an obsolete train ticket. A blond woman in her 40s, unfortunately dont know her name. This idiot was screaming at my child and then followed her out of train, harassing her and trying to press her to stay in Emmaboda, even if she already walked out of the train and needed to change to another one.
Administration of Oresundstag also is not taking any responsibility for their idiot emloyees. But I will complain officially to company itself and customer organizations, that idiot conductors are harassing children.

It's a bit sad that they stuck this horrific train on such an important route. The eye watering cost of 65 Euros to cross the bridge in a car forces people to use this train. My experience in 2 weeks staying in Sweden with this train left a bad taste for European public transportation.

This train is old and often times is so packed that you can barely breathe there's nothing to hold on to as well. On one particularly crammed ride with our infant as well, people were screaming at each other and pushing each other around because they were unable to get onto the train due to overcrowding. During a sudden stop a woman went flying down onto a crowd of people.

When my wife and baby were riding the train to get to the airport to meet her elderly parents they stopped the train and kicked her off in Malmo due to electricity issues on the bridge. Her parents were also left stranded at the airport after flying from the US. Apparently breakdowns are extremely common.

People were rely on this train to get to the airport and is extremely unreliable. They don't offer any kind of alternative bus service in case of a breakdown and there's no way to even walk across this bridge.

I'm used to old crammed trains where I live in Boston, but if there is a breakdown they always make sure to get you to your destination. Avoid this train if at all possible especially if it is important for you to get somewhere.

I feel the need to warn y’all about Öresundståg. I’ve travelled with them 20-30 times, and that’s only when I’ve had no other options. 75% of the time it is really bad.

The trains are dilapidated and way too short. They oversell tickets without limitations. Sometimes you’re not even able to get on the train; there are simply too many people on board. Your 170sek ticket might even run out before you’ve gone anywhere! And once you’re ON, there really is no guarantee you’ll be able to get OFF. People are just so densely packed. It’s a wall of bodies.

The poor staff, bless them, they try their best. I’m sure it’s a very difficult crowd to handle, especially when they can’t even move through the carriages. I couldn’t expect anyone to be all smiley under those conditions. They’re polite and do their job well. That is the only nice thing you’ll have.

Bikes, luggage, animals and strollers are a nightmare for everyone involved. There is always a designated carriage, but its capacity is ridiculously low. Walking space is quite narrow so you are encouraged to get your bicycles ”out of the way” by blocking three seats beside you. This leads to less seats and people stacking bikes. Stacked bikes are the worst. The worst!!!

If this ”sardine” type of travel was a regular part of Scandinavian culture, maybe it wouldn’t be so bad. Unfortunately, Öresundståg is the only nordic travel company with this business model- a system which ultimately only works for short distance travel, which this is not.

So you’ll get backpacks in the face. People crowd the walkways and don’t stow their luggage. They bring smelly food and some even refuse to sit in empty seats next to strangers. There are no handles in the ceiling so people cling to the wall or each other, lest they fall over. Some just sit on the floor, if they have room to bend their knees. It is a terrifying safety hazard. You’re expected to stay like that for 2-6 hours. Just imagine if fire or panic broke out.

If you’re cool as a cucumber and okay with crowds, maybe none of this is an issue.
HOWEVER, IF YOU:
-are immunocompromised
-use a wheelchair
-have any form of physical disability
-need to sit when travelling
-have anxiety or crowd/space-related phobias
-have infants or toddlers
-have large or bulky luggage
-travel in a group
-travel with pets
-need reliable departure times
-want a pleasant experience
I STRONGLY advice you AVOID Öresundståg.

Seriously, I would rather sit on a bus for a couple of extra hours.

TLDR: Unreliable, unsafe, uncomfortable. As crowded as it gets.

They are selling goteborg copenhagen tickets as train but they are using buses for the transport.

Extremely bad! Low standard trains. Nothing to buy on board. Had to change twice to Copenhagen, and there was hardly any information. We just followed the crowd. On my wifes return, they changed platform two min before departure, and then the train was cancelled due to technical problems. She had to rebook and missed the corresponding bus from Gothenburg to Oslo. No information this time either and no excuse at the desk. I am travelling back tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Got a train from GBG to CPH in 1st class. The cabin filled up with a party of passengers from 2nd without any controls or checks whatsoever, who spent the 4 hour journey shouting at each other. Presenting your ticket is essentially voluntary - if you say you’re a new passenger they check and if you don’t they don’t and just walk past. No management of passengers, so anything goes - in spite of announcements of no drinking personal alcohol on the train, there was plenty of it going on. Not to mention the seat selection systems don’t give you any real control of anything. Overall a horrid experience - conductors on this route clearly have just given up on life.

Well, I missed my train because it left 2 minutes earlier, I tried to call them and check if they can compensate me but they said we can't do it please buy another ticket. They are willing to do the impossible to not compensate you. MONEY SLAVES YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED... ⚠️

Most horrible transport I ever experienced.
Never on time!
Most expensive commute in Europe.

If the train worked, it Would be great.. so expensive and ALWAYS broken..
