The staff at Outside always give excellent and professional advice based on good knowledge and experience. They are all mountaineers, climbers, walkers or runners, and use their experience to give good advice. Buying boots from them is particularly good (Hi Tom and team!). Outside sells high quality products, I buy from them frequently, mostly from the store but sometimes online after good telephone advice, it is my go to shop for my outdoor needs. The café is good as well and stays open a little later than other cafés which is useful after a day on the hills.

Brilliant shop. Super helpful staff. Please don't go in there and try stuff on and then go buy it cheaper on the Internet. They pay tax etc and contribute to the local economy.

Outside based in Hathersage, north Derbyshire, is a quality independent retailer of top spec brands and knowledgeable service. It’s a hub for the outdoor enthusiasts. I ordered Inov8 trainers from their on line sales as they were a great price and delivery was free. We had to return the trainers to swop for another size but we did this in person and also purchased a few clothing goodies for winter walks and running.

I had excellent customer service today from Matt allowing me to exchange a pair of Altberg walking boots which have been languishing in my wardrobe beyond the 30 days return policy . I wasn’t expecting such a sympathetic understanding and I am delighted with my new boots just half a size smaller but much better for my odd feet. Rory helped me to try different boots until I was satisfied and he was, knowledgeable and really enthusiastic to help . I didn’t feel hurried or pressured and he was very patient despite attending to several customers each with differing wants. Thank you for such genuine and professional service and I left most impressed with your staff.
