Not Honoring Gift Cards

Overstock bought the name of Bed, Bath, & Beyond and are not honoring gift cards from Bed, Bath, & Beyond. My husband and I received multiple gift cards for our wedding this year and when I called there was zero consideration of trying to transfer over the gift card money to Overstock. Not even an offer for some sort of discount on items.

Overstock= Liars

I can see I'm not the only one with issues from this company. They used to be excellent a few years back, however now they could care less to go the extra mile to help with a product I bought from them and was shipped directly from the manufacturer, the mattress is defective I've had it for 8 months and the springs are hurting my back, I called the manufacturer and they have limited info and can't find my purchase I was told to call Overstock back, I had to wait for a supervisor because the guy that I got on the phone aside from not having the right info he was arrogant and rude to say the least. The supervisor told me that he was going to have someone call me back within 48 hrs so they can get in touch with the mfg, is been way over 48 hrs no call or email from them, which lead me to believe that he was lying. Terrible experience now I'm stuck not only with a bad mattress that has 10 yr warranty but also the frame is coming apart. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PEOPLE!

Good luck reaching customer service

Good luck reaching customer service. I have been buying from Overstock for years, over 140, orders, spent thousands of dollars. I purchased a light in March 2023, due to unforeseen circumstances we were not able to install it until November 2023. Tried various methods to get in touch with them, no response. Hold times were over 45 minutes, crazy. Was told my issue would get escalated and I’d get a call back. Two calls back later, my request was denied. I know the usual return policy and have always been within that timeframe. I did not think asking for an exception for a return would not be granted due to my history with the company. Lesson learned about buying ahead of time and also about loyalty to the customer. Not sure I will do business with this company anymore as their customer service has taken a nose dive.

They Went Above and Beyond

I've had nothing but good experiences with Overstock through the years. Anything that was bad turned out good. When I bought a dining room table that was very slightly damaged in shipping, they gave me a full refund. I couldn't believe it. A full refund on a $600+ item! No request to box it up and ship it back. Hopefully they got a claim from the shipper.

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones based on all these negative reviews. Hopefully they can turn Bed Bath and Beyond around. And hopefully more happy customers will take the time to write a review. I'm not one that likes to give an award when a company does what they're supposed to do, but when they go above and beyond like they did with me or they are consistently good over the years, I make note of it. I will continue to browse their site when I need household items. Their return policy and customer service is definitely better than the competition that only allows returns for 30 days after the order (which isn't really 30 days if it takes a week for the item to arrive). You know who I mean.

bed bath and beyond gift cards

They bought bed bath and beyond and claim they accept their gift cards in the checkout but claim the 200 dollars of gift card credit which explicitly states "NEVER EXPIRES" actual did expire and they say it's not their fault or problem that they actively chose to steal my wedding gift. Genuine scumbags work here and their admin is trash for making that policy. I hope they get sued by class action lawsuit. They're just stealing. That's what it is no matter what BS they claim. Nobody reached out to me from their company to tell me about the change before it happened. Why does our govt allow this BS

Bad service

Bad service I closed out my account 3 months ago. I received a bill so I call and thought I closed it out again. I get 3rd bill I call say they won't closed out because they need to charged at least two interest payments afterwards. I'm so upset I paid the bill off & thought I closed it. I don't understand?

Horrible return policy

Horrible return policy. Horrible customer service from people who can't even communicate. I tried for 2 weeks to contact someone for a return since I was unable to process the return through their website. By the time I reached someone, the return window had closed and he would not help me beyond possibly charging me for return shipping and only giving me store credit. And I wasn't even guaranteed that.

Deceptive company with poor customer…

Deceptive company with poor customer service and little regard for the customer.

Don't be fooled by the name change to Bed Bath and Beyond, Overstock is still horrendous, cannot be trusted, and has little respect for the customer. Order a sofa over Labor Day weekend. Prior to ordering I noticed the delivery option upgrades in addition to the usual free shipping. Free shipping will only get your item to the curb. Now it's beyond any normal reasoning as to why they would deliver a $3,000.00 sofa (or any item for that matter) on the curb, outside in the elements and available to malicious individuals, but that's their idea of free.

Upon placing the order, no screen became available to select a delivery option, free or otherwise. I kept clicking as the prompts indicated but shipping options never appeared. It was only after the sale was complete and the email confirmation arrived that there was any mention of delivery. It turned out to be curbside.

Immediately called Overstock/BBB to clear up the glitch in their site. Was told someone would be in touch within 3 days. Seven full days passed and still no response. That was the first of at least 6 attempts within a 2 week period to try and resolve their computer glitch, which ultimately they never responded to. On Friday before the delivery was due, received a phone call confirming white glove delivery to inside apartment for the coming Monday.

Drive shows up Monday and insist they will leave it curbside. But did offer to move it inside if I paid extra to him! Golden! Wow.

Driver ultimately left with the sofa. Contacted ESTES / EFW, which is the same company btw, and they have even worse customer service. They insisted that Overstock/BBB never authorized the upgraded service, but they would confirm it and then redeliver once they found a team that can do white glove delivery.

Since then it's been about 4 weeks, still no sofa, and still going back and forth between Overstock/BBB and Estes World Wide.

AVOID Overstock / Bed Bath and Beyond at your pocketbook's peril. The company has changed their name but they still have poor customer service, sucky logistics, and ill regard for consumer business ethics. They will tell you one thing and be super pleasant about wanting to solve your issue, then ghost you with zero responses.

Estes / EFW is just as bad. If you find that they could be used to deliver your items, choose another place to purchase. Personally, I've ordered from Wayfair before and never any issues. In fact, after the purchase was complete I noticed that Wayfair had the same sofa, just a different name, but the price was within less than 35.00 dollars!

Overstock.com received a duvet cover…

Overstock.com received a duvet cover that I returned because it was not as represented on their website. They closed the return and gave me a store credit without letting me know. I waited 2 months for a refund. When I asked for a refund I was told NO! YOU HAVE TO USE YOUR STORE CREDIT.
AND they charged me for a $21.35 club membership that I did not ask for. Total it cost me with nothing in return but a store credit I'll probably never use...$142.97 What a pain in the neck

A star is a star too many

A star is a star too many. The reviews really speak for themselves. Overstock bought bed bath and beyond and with that being said, when we tried to place an order on their new bbb site it repeatedly canceled our order, since overstock decided to close our account due to a previous complaint with a broken bed frame that was never addressed. In other words. You have issues with their stuff they will close your account without refunding the item. If you now want to purchase something from bbb which they have bought out they will cancel your purchase without any notification. This is how this company operates. They won’t deal with faulty merchandise they will terminate your account and refuse to do business with you while trying to keep your money as well. Stay away

shouldn't order this company

I ordered a mattress pad and received completely different item twice.
Even after 3 weeks from ordering, there was no prospect of receiving the correct product, and I spent a lot of effort to return it.
Finally, after spending 4 hours, I finally got to talk to a decent person and get my money back.

Do not waste your time on this company's text customer support. Despite their name, they are actually useless AI.
Warehouse doesn't do a decent job either.
I ordered a mattress pad from Walmart instead, and the next day I received a proper cotton mattress pad that felt like a cloud of water proofn.
It was really a nightmare. Not recommended.

Others were right

Others were right. They don’t deserve one star. I tried using this company years ago, when they could actually afford TV commercials. I tried both times and they were out of stock both times. Then Bed Bath & Beyond came back online only. I found out overstock.com bought the company. I decided to try because I know the product was BBB, which I’ve bought before. Order went through and now days later I just get a text. You guessed it…OUT OF STOCK. Why don’t they do themselves a favor and rename the company to outofstock.com. They may hang around for awhile but they will never last. They were already on the verge of bankruptcy.—Not to mention, the former CEO is a likely unindicted co-conspirator of the 4th indictment of Donald J Trump in GA. I don’t like politics involved where I buy sheets and kitchen gadgets!!! What is the current CEO doing? Giving you items that don’t exist and having to recall your order. Talk about a swamp!

Overstock charged me over $100 for…

Overstock charged me over $100 for returning 6 outdoor chair cushions. The Free shipping only applies if you keep the item not on returning items. If it does not fit, or you don't like the color you are out of luck......this is not Amazon. I will never order anything from Overstock again.

Poor quality bedsheets…

I purchased a set of 1000 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets. Four months of use and they have pilling all over. Real Egyptian cotton will not pill so I surmise this product was falsely advertised. No more Overstock for me.

Horrible!!! I ordered a set here because it was $30 cheaper than another place. They lost my set after I took off work to deliver it. How do you loose a furniture set?! And then customer service is horrible. Please don’t order from here

What TERRIBLE SERVICE

What went wrong this time? That question in itself gives the answer. It went wrong as expected.When I read i could get a 25% coupon off my order if I downloaded the app I did that. I must not have seen the small print in order to get coupon. I will immediately cancel the app! I tried to get a hold of someone when I saw my order did not have 25% off. I texted 2 different numbers that said you could reach them by text. They even texted me prior to the order and after. But I got no response other than a specialist will be with me as soon as possible. That was an hour ago. So I Googled the phone number. Of course went through automated questiond but then a specialist will be with you with a wait time of 14 minutes. It was some later I got a" SPECIALIST ". They couldn't give me my discount offer because I placed the order.I have had that happen before with other merchants. No problems. So I told her I wanted to cancel order. She said the order has already been pulled in the warehouse. Ok so they're so backed up or messed up I got no help for over half an hour, but they have the order placed already. To cancel the order would take 1 to 2 business days! So now my money is tied up for at least a week! I'm furious. I kept the order because I wanted what took me hours to pick.. I told her I WOULD NEVER SHOP WITH BED BATH AND BEYOND AGAIN! She tried to give me a 50% off my next order! NEVER AGAIN! I'm calling back tomorrow to speak with a manager. If I can reach one. HA! 🤬🤬🤬

A star is giving Overstock the benefit…

A star is giving Overstock the benefit of the doubt. They ship items from their fulfillment center (errors) that are not what you ordered then when you return it, they charge a return fee. They have customer service in India, which of course brings its own challenges… Poor poor poor. I will not be using overstock for anything ongoing.

Bad bad bad experiences. Amazon is the way to go. Hassle free ! Put them out of business
