Recipients being charged Release Fees!
Recipients being charged Release Fees on delivery!
So I have used Packlink via Ebay for a longtime and things have generally been good until recently. I sent several parcels out in the last week of November '25. Only a couple have reached their destination, but I have been informed by the recipients that they have been issued "Royal Mail Fee To Pay" cards, with a charge of £7 to receive their items due to "underpaid postage". This is NOT ON!
1) Firstly I paid the correct postage £2.69 for a Yodel parcel of less than 1kg. All my previous parcels this size were ok.
2) I paid Packlink for the Yodel service, If I wanted Royal Mail - I would have used them directly. I would not have paid Packlink, to pay Yodel to pay Royal Mail to do the job.
3) It appears that Yodel have paid Royal Mail to deliver, but actually underpaid them so the charge is being passed onto a buyer who has already paid postage for the item.
4) This is stressful for a sender as I am having to deal with (rightly) angry buyers who have had to pay a £7 ransom to get their items or are being held to ransom to receive goods they already paid delivery on. It is the seller who gets in the neck and gets bad feedback and angry messages. Not Yodel or Packlink!
5) The deliveries are way beyond late - I have paid for items to be delivered within a reasonable timeframe by the persons I contracted - the item is late, in some cases still in the depot and in many cases tracking is not updated. I nor my buyers have received the service we expected or paid for!
6) There is no accountability or anyone to speak to as the Online Chat Helpdesk is unfit for Purpose and cannot locate items or account for what has happened!
I am NOT happy nor are my buyers. This has been stressful, reputation-damaging, items won't arrive before Xmas, and with undue costs (refunds/ release fees). Totally unacceptable, incompetent and infuriating. I will be seeing about taking legal action under the Consumer Rights Act as I have not received the service I have paid for at the price paid.
Please be careful with this company!
A note to all those using Packlink for shipping. Packlink charges extra fees, justifying this by claiming the package weighed more. They tricked me into sending Apple headphones weighing 14g (the maximum weight was less than 100g), and they wrote that they weighed 1.5kg. They are scammers, and I advise you to avoid them.
Dodgy
I had a very frustrating experience with Packlink due to an automated system incorrectly denying a refund that was clearly within their 15 day cancellation policy.
Packlink creates a draft shipment automatically when a store receives an order. Their system then incorrectly treats this draft creation date as the purchase date. In reality, the purchase date is when the label is actually paid for and generated. In my case, I paid for the label on December 11, canceled it the same day, and the shipment was never used.
Despite this, my refund was denied because their system relied on the draft creation date rather than the actual payment date. Their own terms clearly state that the 15 day cancellation window starts from the date the order is paid. I provided screenshots of the policy, proof of payment, and UPS tracking information confirming the label was created and canceled on the same day.
Looking back, I realize I have had refunds denied in the past and assumed it was an odd issue rather than a pattern. This time, however, it became clear that the system itself is flawed.
The most concerning part is that UPS and other carriers do not charge for unused labels. Keeping customer money for unused labels, even beyond 15 days, feels misleading and unfair.
I would strongly advise other business owners to carefully review their invoices, document purchase dates, and be cautious when using this service.

If you made an error in the lanebel you can cancel and get 100% refund and start over.
awful- do not use
awful- do not use. They lose parcels and then do not allow an effective way for customers to communicate with them to get compensation or explore the issue. Genuinely dodgy.
15 parcels lost
15 parcels lost, No option to claim and business decimated with bad reviews due to these Charlatans. I used Yodel Via packlink and we've had to refund over 18 parcels with no way to claim as packlink seem to keep us in a loop so we can't get a reference number to claim. My legitimate ebay email is rejected along with the legitimate tracking numbers and packlink ai is absolutely abysmal. These guys seem to collude with the postal carriers so us sellers timeframe for claims runs out and we can't then claim for legitimate losses due to courier incompetence. I'd give minus stars if I could. AVOID AVOID AVOID
Unauthorised payment for wrongful accusations
This so wrong. They sent an email 13th November when i was hospitalise for food poison. They sent email for overweight item I posted which they lied but they didn't not wait for me to dispute or disagree it.
When i can home after recovery, check my email i wrote to them 23rd and 26th november about their link dispute was not working with tracking number they provided they totally ignored my email and instead they help themselves by stealing money out of my PayPal account without my permission, authorisation.
They did not give me opportunity provide evidence proof of photo and measurement that was accurate on my side. this accusations was wrongful so wrong.
How can 1pc of dinner chair c
weigh 67.000kg (this was their claim)
67.00kg is for dinning table only not 1pc of chair .
I have sent them multiple emails still no reply. Am going to report them to my paypal as unauthorised payment theft.
Infact this is 2nd time this kind of wrongful weight accusations has happened to me .
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Awful. Do not use under any circumstance. If you have a parcel go missing or damaged don't expect any correspondence let alone a refund. This "service" if you can call it that is a complete shambles.

SCAM-LIKE SERVICE: PACLINK WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND DELAY YOU FOR WEEKS!!!!
Avoid Paclink at all costs. Their service has been nothing but delays, excuses, and zero accountability. I paid an exorbitant amount to have my parcel delivered this week, yet it’s still sitting in a warehouse overseas with no movement.
They keep blaming “customs,” but the truth is they are still “waiting to verify documents” — documents like my ID and customs forms that I already sent. Their updates are painfully slow, inconsistent, and misleading.
I’ve escalated the issue multiple times and I’m still waiting for them to take any real action.
Paclink has wasted my time, my money, and completely failed to deliver the service they promised.
🚫 Avoid Paclink. There are far more reliable shipping companies out there!
This is a disaster.
This is a disaster.
Severe Negligence: Packlink failed to collect my parcel for 15 DAYS.
Missing Package: When the TNT driver finally arrived (Friday, Nov 29, Zurich to Bonn), he collected the package but FAILED TO SCAN it. No receipt was given.
Critical Contents: The box contains ORIGINAL, IRREPLACEABLE ACADEMIC RESEARCH DATA. It is a distinctive WHITE box with a large logo, impossible to miss.
Poor Support: Support (Szilvia) sends generic "wait and see" templates while my PhD data is at risk of being lost in the warehouse.
My Demand: Contact the TNT Zurich Depot immediately for a physical search. I have provided photos of the box.
If this is not resolved within 24 hours, I am reporting this to Verbraucherzentrale (Consumer Protection) and taking legal action for damages. FIX THIS NOW.
FRAUDSTERS !!!
Unfortunately I booked a UPS shipment via these fraudsters for a £250 item sold on ebay. I paid extra to ensure it was fully covered. UPS were unable to deliver the item even though they had all the relevant info! Instead of returning it, they 'disposed' of it despite all return details on parcel too. I made a claim with Packlink and they refuse to pay out as they say the item is not covered. They sent me the list of items not covered and they have totally ignored the 'vehicle parts category' for this classic car part, and used the 'antiques category' instead because it's a part for an old (1960's) car! They are clearly manipulating their own rules to avoid paying out! I replied but it was ignored. In their original response they make it clear the case is closed and they will not discuss it further. They are wrong on that part as well, as I'm following up with a friend/solicitor and will see them in the small claims court if necessary! AVOID THESE SCAMMERS
Ok but...
Haven't had any problem.
The tracking could be better
Very little communication
These Guys are Hopeless
These Guys are Hopeless
Issues when sending an Item, it was marked return to sender. When contacted for a reason why, Support initially acknowledged the item was likely lost and offered compensation (which was only a fraction of the content's value), Days later the package continued to receive tracking updates with location and was marked as returned.
The final delivery scan at a completely incorrect location (Sandwell) while the parcel was supposed to be returned to Glasgow highlights serious logistical failures. So now it's "Lost" Even though they had locations for it days after I contacted their support.
I currently have no item, conflicting tracking, and an insufficient compensation offer.£25 compensation for £200 worth of goods...

delivered 27 days late and refused claim
After 5 weeks of chasing a lost parcel, multiple escalations, and clear evidence that the courier delivered to the wrong address 27 days late, Packlink still refused to process a straightforward compensation claim. eBay confirmed it was the courier’s responsibility, yet Packlink have delayed, ignored key information, and offered no resolution. This experience shows how unreliable their claims process is. Sellers relying on them should be aware of the risk.
