Westbourne, Bournemouth

Westbourne, Bournemouth branch. Unbelievably useless, full of lots of false promises and generally terrible.

Promised the flat would be cleaned and said it was arranged especially as dead bird on the balcony on viewing, upon moving in it was dirtier and the dead bird had been kicked under a chair!

When moving in we need a code for a door which we were told would be emailed to us in couple days, they were reminded several times and 6 months later nothing...

The olds tenants post continued to arrive through out our stay even though they had supposedly contacted the previous tenant to sort this, which leads to next part when we delivered the previous tenants mail to them to be passed on it was instantly binned in front of us, strangely enough after leaving the flat I was informed there was a parcel that had been returned to the flat (something that had not much money value but a lot of sentimental value) when enquiring about when I could pick it up from them they claimed to have never seen it and just ignored my calls when going into the shop in person they claimed they never had it, I can't confirm it was binned but with there track record it wouldn't be surprising!!

Also if you want them to pick up the phone don't give them any money as once they got the money they may as well have never existed. There was one lovely lady who was part of the team who was extremely helpful but sadly left and I can't say I blame her, the agent we dealt with (I won't name names) was extremely unhelpful and useless to be honest.

We also had issues with not having a shower for about a month and also bad conditions with mould and the damp which is more the landlords fault than there's due to the property having severe leaks but within this they were not overly helpful in getting this resolved when the place was essentially was a biohazard

Palmer Snell Canford Heath

We used Palmer Snell Canford Heath branch for the sale of my late grandparent's house.

I found the team to be friendly, proactive and efficient which resulted in a relatively quick and trouble free sale.

Absolutely disgusting service

Absolutely disgusting service. After being told on Thursday 28/3/24 I was accepted for a rental property at close of working day. It was a bank holiday weekend so couldn’t contact with the information they needed. After trying constantly phoning from Spain to repeatedly get answer machine no call back or acknowledgment from them in any way. After finally being able to speak to the person dealing with it to be told that they are sorry owners have decided to go with someone else. A bank holiday is out of anyone’s control. I feel this is disgusting on palmer snells behalf .. could never recommend them.

I just booked a property visit

I just booked a property visit. Meeting at 16.45, I don't have a car so I took the bus from work, got out 1 hr earlier, bus late 10 min, I told the miss that would lead the visit that I would be late, just to be called a liar on the phone after 5 minutes, crying herself that she waited in the rain and closed the call. I didn't even bother to get down from the bus.
Nice preview of the company customer treatment.

If you’re renting, don’t use Palmer Snell

Would I choose to rent through this company again? Absolutely not. They rented me a house with some of the owners belongings still inside, not advertised, and then expected me to look after and store them. I have had an issue for over a year with continued new ‘property managers’, each one not dealing with the issue and saying the issue was never passed over whilst continuing to raise the rent. As soon as a property comes up in the area I will be quickly jumping ship.

A good team giving excellent service

Carole and her team successfully sold a house for us recently. They were supportive and efficient at all times during the process. Communications were good. Excellent outcome in difficult times. Would whole heartedly recommend.

AWFUL SERVICE THROUGHOUT

CHRISTCHURCH BRANCH - AWFUL SERVICE, I WOULD AVOID AT ALL COSTS - I asked for my home to be valued. Firstly, I was given the wrong time via e-mail. However, I waited in for the appointment, and waited....

40 mins later called the office and waited a further 20 minutes for a call back and explanation. I was then called by the Assistant Branch Manager (Amanda) who came across as very arrogant quoting office procedure and saying she'd called (which she hadn't). She didn't even apologise saying 'people often aren't in' Ah so you just don't turn up then? I won't be using the services of this amateur organisation.

Professional service from start to…

Professional service from start to finish. Highly recommended Sarah has loads of market knowledge and is so helpful. The office deal with every call promptly and this removes a lot of the stress buying and selling properties.

Avoid Westbourne Branch - they will do the bare minimum after you sign a contract

After sending my feedback directly to Palmer Snell over a week ago and as expected not receiving a response, i will now post here.
My partner and I decided to both sell our flats to hopefully buy somewhere together. As two first time sellers, we have had an awful experience with Palmer Snell. Please see the reasons below we decided to take both properties off the market with Palmer Snell and list with a different agent.

- From the first viewing onwards, we have had to constantly chase for feedback for days and days later. This was frustrating from the get-go, especially with the difficulty of getting through to the office. On some days, I called hourly all day to try and actually get through to someone. I dread to think how difficult it would be to try and arrange a viewing.

-On multiple occasions, it would take weeks to get a response to a text or email despite multiple follow-up emails and voicemails. This started once we had signed a contract; before signing the contracts, we would get responses within hours, which never quite sat right with us.

- At one point, a potential buyer asked questions regarding the lease, which I provided the same day to Palmer Snell. When I called to ask about this potential buyer a week later, I was told the agent had been too busy to read the lease and asked if I could do it instead. At this point, the buyer was no longer interested. No apology for the lack of communication or incompetency was provided. It was a 'why don't you do yourself' approach. If we wanted to sell the properties ourselves, we wouldn't have hired an agent.

-When we had valuations for both of our properties, we were told photographers would be attending. This was never arranged for my property despite chasing this up multiple times. Photos were taken on an iPhone, which would not have been a problem if we were not told differently prior to signing a contract.

-We were also told our listing would be premium listings - it took multiple emails and calls to actually get this to happen which we found really unprofessional.

-Throughout, there has just been an overall lack of contact - every update from pre and post-sale we have needed to chase for ourselves. There was no initiative to help the sale through or to provide any form of reassurance. As a first-time seller, this is something I really struggled with, and the whole process has lacked any form of personal touch or consideration and ultimately just been made as stressful as possible. We now have a complete lack of confidence that Palmer Snell has been doing everything possible to help with the sale. To be entirely honest, I would have resented making payment if the sale were to have continued, as it would be for a service that has only ever involved opening the front door around five times, nothing more. We both had a really good impression after meeting Michael and Connor at the valuations and are really shocked at how we have been treated.

The silver- lining of our flats being marketed elsewhere is that we will not have to make payment to Palmer Snell but to an agent who is willing to do the work. On a side note, since listing the properties elsewhere within only a matter of weeks ago we now have an offer at full asking price, our experience with the new agent could not have been more different.

Amazing service throughout our sale

Amazing service throughout our sale from the Bournemouth, Castle Lane office, Adam initially and followed up by Becky. Communication, patience and professionalism was excellent at all times despite issues at the bottom of the chain with solicitors!
Thank you, I would totally recommend Palmer Snell.

Outstanding service

We recently sold our home through Palmer Snell Estate Agents Upton office. Jack and his team had a clear sales strategy which enabled us to sell our home for an excellent price. The service we received was professional, efficient and above all friendly. We would not hesitate to recommend their service.

Useless

Useless. The sale of my flat dragged on for six months. It was very stressful. The guy who originally brokered the sale was on the ball but left. After then it was down hill. No communication, promised countless times to contact the buyer but didn’t. When the sale fell through - surprise surprise - Matthew the salesman at the Westbourne office, couldn’t be bothered to contact me and tell me why, even though he had promised to. Gormless, inefficient, dreadful. They might be ok if you’re selling a multi million property (think of the commission) and the lettings office, when I’ve dealt with them, have been more efficient. But I won’t be using Palmer Snell again.

Communication awful

Boscombe branch..Communication awful. Daryl persuaded me to sell via modern method of auction; what a mistake I made there! Why would a buyer pay an extra £6k just for the privilege of buying my property. I had let my property through them for more than a decade, so you would think they would show me some loyalty, but this didn't count for anything. Promised to arrange EPC but I found out after 2 months that it hadn't been done, but my property still went up for sale without it.Every time I phoned for updates either the computer system was not working or someone was out of the office. Promised to call me back but rarely did. Finally gave them 2 week's notice to leave them, but 3 days after that 2 week period, property still on their website and Rightmove. They didnt even inform the auction company Iamsold that i had moved away from them. I sent a complaint about communication through their online form, but this was never acknowledged or replied to. Just terrible! Avoid at all costs!

Please do not use palmer snell if they are selling a house with iamsold
This trauma should be avoided at any cost!!! Unfortunately the house we purchased HAD to be done through them despite our reservations. I’ve had better afresales service from conmen! Unfortunately this is still an ongoing issue due to being unable to get anyone to call us back, it is very difficult to form a working relationship with an answer machine

A waste of time!

Absolutely horrendous! If I could give less than 1 star I would.
Grace, the manager at Palmer Snell Canford Heath seemed like she would be great at marketing our home and pushed us down the modern auction method. A way for them to gain more fees no doubt because she could not explain the reservation fee satisfactorily to potential buyers and was also different to how we had understood this from her in the first place.

Inexperienced staff although very lovely, could not answer questions on the auction process as they had not been trained!

I can safely say that they did not deliver as they promised and we had a handful of viewings only, on a sought after road and property type. There did not seem to be any targeted marketing going on at all. Due to their lax attitude we also lost the house we had offered on!!!

On leaving them and requesting the complaints procedure, they could not even provide this as and I quote 'they didn't know it'! And it took us 3 requests for them to remove our property details from under their agency!

Best thing we did was get out and go with an independent local agent who in 4 days had more viewings than Palmer Snell did in a month and sold our house for full asking price!

We have always used them previously and they have been good in the past BUT I would never use them as an agent again due to our experience this time.
