Just off Ventura
Just off Ventura , cruise ship no , smelly ferry yes , food not why it used to be , I fact totally crap , be warned if you budget £500 to spend they take the amount you spend each day off your bank card , then hold onto it , then a couple of days after you get back they debit the total amount again whilst holding on to the other charges making intrest on your money , so basically have double in the amount available or your going to be in a sticky spot when you get home
Helpful customer services
After not being able to book 2 cabins together on line for myself and parents. I rang P&O customer services. I got through straight away. I didn't get the ladies name but she was most helpful. She found two cabins together she adjusted both bookings and linked mine and my parents booking together to show as a family. Very helpful thank you.
Appalling Company
Appalling Company. Been waiting 5 weeks for a reply about a wheelchair passengers needs.
On line messenger staff completely disinterested and want me to email again and allow them 28 days to respond.
That would be 9 weeks since they received the original enquiry
P&O 14 night Med Cruise
We recently did a P&O 14 night Mediterranean cruise. This would be our 7th cruise with P&O Brittania and Iona.
The positive things were as follows:
The standards of cleanliness in our cabin, Joris our cabin steward did a fantastic job. My partner ended up hurting his foot during the cruise and she supplied ice and a bucket to help with the swelling and pain. Everything was spic and span in our cabin and we couldn’t have asked for anything more.
The Freedom dining was excellent but we did notice that they appeared to be a little short staffed on some occasions.
The entertainment was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the shows every night especially Astonishing, Sound of the Underground and the George Micheal tribute.
We also enjoyed the presentation on Concorde, that was a really good insight to the iconic aircraft.
The Oasis Spa was terrific and we thoroughly enjoyed all the treatments received.
The negatives were:
The second night that we were there we wanted to go the Glass House but the kitchen was not open due to not having enough staff. We then wanted a drink at the Crows Nest and that also happened to be closed.
We also found one of the staff members at the Costa cafe was rude which was the first time we had experienced something like this ever on P&O as everyone is always so warm and pleasant to deal with.
Admittedly we normally would not travel during school holidays as it was a last minute booking, but I wouldn’t do it again. I understand the noise levels going up with children but I did witness kids eating on the ships stairwell. Also they tended to sit on the stairs which lowers the tone of the cruise.
I would have given 5 stars on all the other cruises taken but noticed standards have dropped after the pandemic.
Room is only serviced once a day. Coffee is not available in your room for breakfast like it used to be. Only small things but, no P&O chocs on the pillow or sweets. Also I know Brittania is going to get a refit in the next 2 years but the outdoor furniture needs to be replaced as looking tired.
No hair conditioner for washing hair.
We did go to the Buffet twice and we found that disappointing, the selection was significantly reduced and the food was cold.
We have booked another cruise with P&O Arvia in 2023 and hope that things improve.
UNFORGETTABLE HOLIDAY SADNESS
Unforgettable holiday sadness and anger!!
2 days after joining the cruise we check our account to see that P&O had halved our onboard credit without any prior warning or justification. After months of thinking we knew our budget it was split in half. The lady on the loyalty desk onboard was very dismissive and all communications had to be through to the head office. I spent 3 days of repeated emails and calls to head office to get it resolved and they refused to get it adjusted. The customer service is not even worthy of 1 star and I would not recommend them to friends of family and probably won’t cruise P&O again.
It’s such a shame as it’s a disservice to all the wonderful waiters, bar stewards and cabin stewards onboard who do a fantastic job. I just hope that they’re treated with respect unlike the passengers.
Disgraceful been trying to sort…
Disgraceful been trying to sort peninsular out for months still
Not sorted not sailing with them again

Azura cruise 14th to 28th April extended to 5th May.
My husband went on a long awaited cruise with P and O on 14th April 2022. This had been postponed for 2.5 years and we used cruise credit. Unfortunately I caught covid for the first time, at the beginning of the 2nd week due, I am sure, to the poorly enforced mask wearing policy for guests. There must have been an increase in cases as guests boarding on 21st informed me that they had received emails from P and O about improved covid regulations on board for guests. I was put in isolation for 10 days and my husband who continued to test negative in a separate cabin for 8 days. We were well looked after by room service. Havin endured the period of isolation we then had a battle to organise our flight home. Despite the fact we had left from Heathrow we were told we would be returning to Gatwick. On the 2nd last day when the flight details were sent to us I noticed that there was a flight back to Heathrow but despite pleading, arguing etc with reception there was no shifting. After making a fuss!! we were told that we would have an email before we landed in Gatwick that a taxi would be there for us. No emails. Luckily I spotted a card at the airport with our name. The taxi took us to Heathrow but not back home. This arrangement would not have happened if we had not made a real fuss and lots of complaints. I do not want cruise credit for the days in isolation as have no intention of travelling with P and O ever again. As Malta would not let us go to a quarantine hotel on 28th April the date we should have returned home we were kept on board for a further week. Isolation period has been noted for 6 days tho I actually spent 10 days in isolation. I am so disappointed with P and O and adamant that they should refund the cost of the isolation period. I am still waiting for a reply, apart from acknowledgement of my 2 emails from customer support. I have cruised with P and O 7 times but definitely never again.
We have a 2 week cruise booked for June…
We have a 2 week cruise booked for June this year and been rather disappointed with the lack of customer service or communication in the run up to the cruise. We are booked for a family cruise with 2 small children but we’re told months ago that the kids club is closed and “things will change” come time for our cruise. It’s May 12th and P and O have told us that due to COVID restrictions the club is closed. As COVID restrictions have been scrapped (also no mask wearing required in airports from Monday) P and O seem to be sticking to a non existent COVID policy and making excuses to not pay staff to man the kids club. They would rather paying customers on a quiet cruise to have to sit at shows and dinner with children running around than open the kids club as they have before and make ALL passengers holiday more enjoyable. When we finally did speak to P and O to enquire about this, their solution was for us to cancel the holiday and rebook next year ( at an additional cost of thousands) so they can make as much money as possible now by re selling the same holiday to another family and charging them 3 or 4 times more to recoup their losses from pandemic. Seems bizarre that their solution to a small issue was for us to cancel our holiday and lose future customers than offer any extras or something to appease the customer now. If anyone is reading this I would strongly recommend they think twice when looking at P and O in booking a cruise as this is the sort of customer service you will receive (non existent). I’m sure Royal Caribbean or any other many competitors would take your booking and make you feel like you would cruise with them for life, instead avoid P and O and go with a competitor who would gladly make the customer welcome and do ALL they could to keep your custom. After this experience we would not cruise with P and O in future or recommend anyone to.
I would give zero!!!!Horrendous Company.
I would give zero!!!!
No customer service what so ever!
Hours spent on hold unable to speak to anyone! Save yourself the stress and book with another company P & O are not what they used to be!!!! You have been warned
P&O Iona, never again in November / December!
We were due to depart Southampton on November 27 but there was a 24 hour delay due to weather so we lost a day of our 14 day cruise!
Our coach to Southampton from Darlington was booked with Intercruise, but was contracted to Weardale and was not much better than a school bus!
The queues at Southampton were horrendous ( over two hours) to take a COVID test pre-boarding.
We then missed three ports, due to weather and spent extra days at sea and an overnight in Barcelona.
We had to pay for a COVID test to disembark in Lisbon (£18 each) and due to government policy changes, the 2 day lateral flow tests to be taken upon our return which cost £25 each became obsolete, replaced by the 2 day return PCR tests at £75 each.
There was COVID on board in both staff and passengers although they were careful to isolate those affected! At least our journey home from Southampton to Darlington was on a better coach, still supplied by Weardale, but with the Shearings name on it!
Not a good experience all round, costing nearly £3,500 with COVID tests etc!
No help from reception, but OBC of £75 given for lost day! Our cabin cost a lot more!
On the up side, Iona was a new ship, with excellent facilities, 5 star food and top notch staff! Our cabin on Deck 15 midships was a deluxe balcony which was very nice, so although the weather was horrendous at times, we were able to enjoy the food and entertainment.
Cancelled cruise due to PandO customer service
To followup my previous post... Warning: If you cancel a PandO cruise, as we have just done, even if it's because of issues with the company, you will not get a refund unless you agree their cancellation charges. Hence because the company refused to confirm until 4 weeks later what issues we knew about re PCR testing and the logistics of passengers being able to meet Caribbean port excursions, we had to cancel as port visits are a priority for us... We have had to accept a loss of 50pc of our payment, through issues which were not our fault... We had known for some weeks that all Caribbean ports required PCR tests, which we tried to confirm , but PandO web site said only 2 islands required them... FCO confirmed our findings some weeks before but it takes PandO 3-4 weeks to reply to emails.. Potential Caribbean cruise customers and those visiting a number of countries where there are PCR entry requirements that cruise ships will not tell you how they can do all the necessary tests, and get rsults so that passengers can meet port visits.... All the islands on a PandO Caribbean cruise require PCR tests - at GBP25 each, how much will that add to cruise costs ?? If port visits are a priority I would only recommend a single country or multicountry cruise with no PCR requirements... We are appalled that this and other cruise companies will take no responsibility for cruise cancellations caused by their customer service.. We will be pursuing any avenue to get all our costs back.... But you would be advised as the rating indicates, to avoid PandO like the plague... We certainly will never do a cruise with them unless we get a fair settlement of our grievances... !!
Paid for P&O cruise to Caribbean for…
Paid for P&O cruise to Caribbean for Jan 3rd 2022 £3174pp. Same cruise now £2699 pp. After phone call told that they will not issue any compensation due to terms and conditions. We really thought a company of this stature would treat their customers with respect and fairness ,
This will now spoil our experience completely
Booked and paid up for a fly cruise
Booked and paid up for a fly cruise. That was great. Trying to buy selected seats on the flight is not. Horrendous system that sometimes lets you select seats but won’t let you pay for them. They stay in a basket for two hours while you keep trying to pay then you lose them and two hours and have to start again at which point the system says you can’t pre select seats. Not sure if I’ll ever do a cruise with P and O again but don’t think I’ll ever do a fly cruise with them again.....oh, and other people say this has been an ongoing problem for a few years, so good luck with that love!
Blue Light Card is excellent However P & O Cruises then downgrade your Balcony cabin form Deck 10 to 5.
Blue Light Card is excellent. We rang back P & O Cruises after we’d already booked a balcony Cabin on a P & O Cruise staycation and got 45% off straight away which was great. We had been allocated our Balcony cabin already Deck level 10. However the next day we received an email and they had downgraded us to level 5 balcony cabin same type but under the lifeboats with unobstructed view!!! Charming considering the Iona can have 5,206 passengers and sailing half full!
Ringing P and O made no difference they said to get back to deck level 10,11 or 12 we’d have to pay
£520 pp more which was £20 more than the savings given.
Don’t get me wrong we have saved hugely and grateful but did they really need to do this with a half empty ship!!! SO BE WARNED WITH P&O.
No contact contact centre
Hi, I booked a cruise directly with PO on Monday and was told I would receive a confirmation email within a few hours .I have never dealt with such a poor contact centre in fact using the word contact should not be in the title .Booking was smooth the adviser professional but service has gone down hill since .
I called to request said email on Monday and waited 40 minutes then put the phone down .Tuesday 35 minutes Wednesday 48 then today at 9oclock hung on for 25 minutes to then be told lines were closed .At ten held on for 1 hr and 28 minutes ,I cannot believe an iconic brand like this is so abysmal with their service .
Why can’t they have a messaging on their phone saying you have waited to long and take a call back number.
resource staff just for call backs .
This is the same for sales can you believe they would keep a potential customer waiting so long .
why not have an answer machine on were you can tell the what your questions are they may be easily resolved .I hope this is not going to be the service onboard .
Book with confidence
Cruise was cancelled for our trip February 2021. They offered full refund. Which appeared into my bank account within seven working days.
I was a bit concerned how long I might have to wait for the refund, as it was a few thousand.
I am looking forward to rebooking our cruise with PandO. Thank you
I am giving P and O 5 stars in this…
I am giving P and O 5 stars in this instance because our refund cheque dropped through our letterbox within a few days of cancellation. To be honest we have had so much hassle with other companies , the main one being Jet2 that I was dreading having to start chasing up after my money but P and O proved me wrong
Be wary of booking
Be very wary if you are thinking of booking with P and O Cruises. Customer Service is appalling. Have been told many times my refund would be in my account within seven to ten days and it’s all been lies. 71 days and still no money. It’s caused a great deal of stress. Wouldn’t trust them and will never book with them again.
Dodging to pay refund
Very willing to take your money, but when trying for a refund, NOBODY willing to take ownership. Passed from one to several others, and yet none of the promises to sort the refund or even call us back, ever happens. We lodged a request for a refund on the advice of my GP. This was prior to the mass cancellations relating to Covid 19. Told it would be 45 days to obtain a refund, then 60 days, it is now 73 days and still waiting. They have very short memories as the amount we have spent with them over the years is not loose change. Absolutely disgusted
