If i could Give 0 stars i would. My property manager Marqeul Norwood is horrible. I mean This with all my heart. I have so many baby mice in my house under the stove in my kids room and my bedroom. Nothing done about it . The weed smoking in this building is out of control i have To work at 6am and I’m up every night with my kids raising windows and turning the air on because they can’t breathe. We in a pandemic and these people still having parties. Still smoking in the halllway and my house is lit up like i smoke. Then when you tell management it’s always I’m sorry we will send someone out never happens. I ask To speak to his boss and they always say it take 3-5 days for someone to call me and they never do. I plan On taking my kids to the emergency room to check their breathing and if i find Because of all this smoking in here they have asthma I’m suing them. Worst people to rent from and worst property manager ever.

I just have a question I recently applied for an apartment with Pangea and although my application was denied I was sent an email saying that I was prequalified except for criminal history my question is do I need to call someone to discuss this or am I denied and have to reapply?

I made a complaint about the mailboxes in my building and my property manager called me first thing in the morning to address the issue. She was not nasty or rude like others have mentioned about their property manager. Still remained professional because I was very upset in my complaint. She came by the same day to fix it. Not all Pangea property managers are bad. If you are a good tenant, pay your rent on time and don’t cause any issues you all will not have the reactions you get from some of these property managers! I’ve never had an issue with mine other than someone keep breaking the mailboxes which still not her fault! It’s just the bad tenants or guest.

I never had a experience like this before. I have squirrels living in my walls coming from the outside. They have put holes in my kitchen wall and came through my kitchen wall and ate my food in the kitchen. My bread, my tortillas shells, and my cereal. I have been calling Pangea since the beginning of February to get this fix and here it is about to be a whole month. I have called so many times even my mother have called them. All these people do is put in a maintenance order. I even spoke to the property manager and she supposed to be put in a order for pest control but still no one has fix this problem. If I wanted to live with squirrels I might as well live outside with them. Now what if one of these squirrels come in while I’m sleep and bite me or one of children. This is the worst living conditions I have ever experience.

Let me start out by saying my experience with my almost two year lease this far has been decent, for the most part. No serious issues with management of the property that I reside at. However, let us revisit the duration of my residence here again...almost two years. This is a material point to my grievance. I just received two letters stating that I was being charged proration for gas as well as a $20 admin fee for each month of proration. Now I'm one to pay my bills and upon signing my lease almost 2 years ago, I was adamant about getting the gas in my name as required per the lease and receiving my keys. However upon several unsuccessful attempts by the office management to retrieve my meter number, I was given my keys and told to call the resident care department asap to get the meter number. I called the resident care number the following day (this is actually documented in my Pangea Care profile) and was told that it would be handled. Alas, here we are almost 2 years later and I have received two letters outlining that the proration and $20 fees have been added to my rent now and I was told that these charges will be rolling out regularly in arrears until 1) the gas is in my name 2) the charges are at a 0 balance. Again, I find it hard to reason that this was my fault to begin with but as a man of reason I would be willing to pay the proration but I'm entitled to pay $20 a pop for employees that dropped the ball. I am not an employee of Pangea Real Estate, I am a customer and my responsibility ended when I contacted the resident care department as I was directed to. Watch your nuggets with this company for real. I had a situation last year as well when I was told my rent was going up and I couldn't get an explanation as to why when I posed the question. Sounds like hustle to me. I got uncle's from Detroit and I know game when I hear it and that might as well been PARKER BROS calling me that day. Peace.

Today, I received a call from a maintenance man asking to enter my apartment for a water leak into the unit below me. I informed him the water leak work order was put in last week (specifically 1/2/21). The neighbor in the unit below me communicate with each other to insure there are NO issues. I knew exactly when the water from my tub went into the overflow valve in the tub. I asked the maintenance man to wait until I was home the following morning. He agreed. Five minutes later, I get a call from the property manager Ms. Siddiqui, telling me there was a water emergency and maintenance would be entering my unit. I told her no, there wasn’t. At the same time, I texted my neighbor below to confirm. Me. Siddiqui. insisted rudely, there was. I left work and came home to find no water emergency. I work at a hospital in the emergency room. I knocked on the rental office door to speak to Ms. Siddiqui but the young lady who opened the door said “L”, was off property. First of all, you don’t know the property managers name? Second, when I asked for the property managers supervisor, the young lady gave me a general number. I called the general number to gather info and Janice who answered the phone, after explaining the situation, muted the phone and hung up. Then my phone started ringing off the hook. It’s the property manager. When I confront her about the nine day old work order, and the lie about an emergency, she gets defensive and loud. As I stated to her, a work order over a week old is NOT an emergency. Tenants rights are being violated by stating there is an emergency when there is not. I’m losing money by not being at work. Ms. Siddiqui then stated the maintenance supervisor told her it was an emergency. So who lied? Who takes responsibility for the lie which made me leave work, and leave my coworkers scrambling to cover my patients because of said “emergency”? This happened once before and my neighbor downstairs and myself asked them to figure why water can’t flow into the overflow valve on the tub. That was over a year ago. The property manager is awful. Every time I have an issue, it’s with her and her shady practices. I don’t trust Ms, Siddiqui. Thank God I know my neighbors and we all look out for each other! For reference, I rent in Hyde Park, Chicago.

I applied for Pangea back in February of 2020 and was denied, like some of the other reviews I see here I was not told the reason for my denial. I have more than enough income to cover the rent for the unit I was interested in. I found it very unfortunate and unfair that I spent money on the application fee to be denied and not even told why. Now there is a unit available that I am VERY interested in and I’ve been told that I can’t apply for a year from my last application and I’m pretty sure the unit will be gone by then.

I love magnolia work ethic... she’s a great worker and gets the job done quickly.... I love her personality, she’s a very friendly person and very understanding... great building manager 😊
I have reviewed your website and seen a couple units in your properties. On the website you talk of giving back to the communities, making the properties safe When you speak on your "CARES Campaign".
I was disappointed to find that your offices requires a cost from your Tenants who request a screen/security door at the back door of their apartment units.
This should be an expense of the Real Estate NOT the Renting Tenant. The screen/security door serves the tenant no purpose if they leave Pangea, you keep the door so its unfair for Tenants to be responsible for the cost of install because they feel the need of extra security at their back door.
These doors should've been added as an added safety measure as part of the rehab for the Tenants safety if safety is as important as you claim in your CARES Campaign.
For me, it has been a simple and comfortable favour. You are very awesome because I visited your website, but your customer service is not strong.

The property manager DARIO of 7609 s coles ave is a SLUM-LORD! His entire building needs to be torn down. It’s infested with mice and roaches. He doesn’t really care for his tenants. He only cares about being paid monthly. I have a newborn baby and I’ve been trying to transfer buildings. He’s harassing me for whatever reason idk. One min I’m approved to move then next min he’s calling into pangeas office stating that I no longer want to move. My apartment that I had a lease signing for was taken twice because of him. He lied and said he spoke with a boyfriend about the situation but I don’t have a guy living with me!! I’m constantly getting the run arounds. And the resident care team is messing up my info which is also holding me back too. I highly recommend no one to ever move into this building! It’s not livable! I’m building a case with landlord tenants rights against him due to these circumstances and also stress that is being caused upon me because of this situation!!!!

I live in a Pangea managed apartment building on the south side of Chicago. I moved in with my elderly sister in August of 2018. Everything was fine while the weather was hot, but during the early fall (late September early October we had some cool days. I placed a call to put in a work order. It was all down hill from there. I was told that it depended on my neighbors if they were using heaters or their stoves to heat their apartments then the heat would not come on. Then I was told it has to be below 50 for the heat to come on. for 3 years we have put up with these excuses. My sister is elderly as I stated before and I have explained this over and over; she can not get around so she has to sit all day and night in a cold apartment with no heat. She is fully dressed from head to toe, wrapped up in blankets, and furthermore when I come home from work after being in the apartment for more than 10 minutes the cold seeps into my bones so I know what it must feel like to her whos been there all day. As for it has to be under 50, it drops down under 50 over night and no heat comes up. We mind our own business, we pay our rent on time even throughout this pandemic., We have not missed not one payment nor have we been late. I have spoken to the property manager who was rude over the phone saying that he needed to check with the city of Chicago to find out what the guidelines were regarding when was the start date for turning on the heat. OMG you are the property manager and you don't know this already. My heat is included in my rent. So I need my heat so that my sister and I don't freeze to death or get sick. In response to your reply, a service request was made no one showed up to check "if" the system was on by or on September 15 it's not working because it was not working if it was I would not have written this review. within the last 2 days after I posted my review the first time we've had minimum heat twice a day for 10 minutes at a time. That is not enough time to even knock the cold off an apartment. Ans when I get home in the evening there is absolutely no heat from 5pm till after 5 am shame on you as a real estate company treating your tenants in this manner. I am very familiar with the operations of a management company who manages a huge heating system for residential and commercial spaces and the 15 years that I have worked I have never seen anything like this. They provide their tenants and residents with heat, they don't freeze them out, and they answer their service calls. Why can't Pangea do the same?

Finally was able to get ahold of someone regarding a property in western burbs. Young lady was very pleasant over the phone but she threw me for a complete loop. Talking about apartments are first come first serve sent me leasing application told me to send in my $25 security check processing fee. But scheduled my virtual tour two weeks from now. Ma’am you want me to fill out an application and send my money for a apartment sight unseen. After reading some of the comments here, yelp, and etc that’s not right this company taking people money and scheduling a virtual tour for weeks out. In my honest opinion is taking $25 application fees during COVID and don’t have any intentions on showing whatever property they claim to have available.
