Sad end to school holidays

I am sure there are some sites with parkdean that are lovely however Ashcroft in sheerness is nit one of them.
We feel we did not get the van that we had paid for, it was dirty inside especially the shower and toilet.
Spare pillows were filthy.entertainment for children was very poor. No sparky nor his crew. Activities in the pool area did not run all week. No activities offered as entertainment throughout the day for children as advertised. Security questionable. Understaffed due to staff to staff and resident fighting.
If I had not experienced my self I would not have believed how poor the site was. Very warm weather however outside pool was not open all week with no reason being given when questioned.
Really miserable end to my grandchildren’s summer holidays. Tried to speak to the manager however he did not get back to me all week, we left earlier than we planned because we were just fed up with the experience, I called head officer costumer service before my trip and was passed on to the cv team at the site that suggested I experience the site myself rather than accepting all that been negatively written about it. Unfortunately most of the negative reports where spot on. We would never return to this site however we are open to parkdean offering us the use of another site an experiencing what they say they offer, I am still waiting for the head office to return my initial complaint contact, my visit was at the end of August and I have not heard a thing since.

We stayed at Challaborough Bay in Devon…

We stayed at Challaborough Bay in Devon this Bank Holiday weekend. I was so impressed by the Heron caravan we stayed in. It was so clean and the bed was so comfortable. I was so surprised on how much space we had.The resort itself was lovely and the staff was very friendly. I would definetly recommend staying at this caravan park. The beautiful beach was so close and lovely walks on the cliffs near by.Amazing views.

Myself and partner with our 2 young…

Myself and partner with our 2 young children have just come back from barmston beach park resorts and are extremely disappointed! You save all year to take your family on holiday and expect to at least enjoy a little bit of it. We'll don't book there as it was absolutely appalling, the staff don't have a clue! Out door pool only and wasn't even open for 2 days we were there due to some cleaning! When we eventually got to test out the pool which was pretty lame at that, someone needed medical attendance as a life guard ran round headless asked for a first aider all the staff stood around shaking there heads saying were not first aid trained! This was absolutely disgusting to know if any of my kids needed assistance they wouldn't of got it. Luckily I am first aid trained and offered my help, luckily it wasn't a serious matter. Dirty drinking glasses and when asked for another it seemed such a distress for the bar staff to deal with! One women I was talking too took her glass to her own caravan and washed it herself. Appalling! Kids entertainers.... Well they can't be bothered with your kids, they play the same thing every night and 4 out of 7 night we were there the same kids were picked to go on stage and win the prizes which is disheartened to other kids. They have absolutely no get up and go and personally think there in the wrong job if they can't deal with kids dancing and screaming with excitement. We also seen sparky every night of our week no other characters at all. Absolutely no entertainment through the day so with no pool and no entertainment not alot to do at all. Kids can't even play outside the caravan as they are so squashed together and have other people's rubbish outside of them. They have the tiny arcade amusements which nothing worked in and when asked got told for 7 days they are getting fixed! Lost about £10 in machines as they still keep your money when not working! 😠 We book through horseasons every year for our summer break away but this year have been sadly let down by them 😢 I would not recommend barmston beach to anyone and would probably book through someone else than horseasons next year.

Filthy caravan at Ty Mawr

Caravan absolutely disgusting My son has booked twice a year for family holidays for several years and had never had reason to complain, Couldn’t believe my eyes it was filthy complained straight away to reception but didn’t seem interested I asked to be moved were told camp was full . I wanted to be moved to another site told it was too far away. They said they would send staff in to clean it up and would give us food vouchers while they did it. In my opinion it was passed cleaning dirty stained furniture dirty mattresses all they could do was give us mattress protectors and sheets to over furniture filthy floors stained carpet in bedroom only two burners on cooker worked couldn’t open freezer box on fridge it was iced up staff tried to clear it but water dripped on food. To top it all my son found a pair of child’s soiled dirty pants thrown on top of wardrobe , l could go on and on, I would have walked out but for upsetting my young Granddaughter. I left a detailed letter with manager on site said they would contact my son in two days nothing so far. I have also emailed Head Office and will be sending a detailed letter of our grievances. Don’t think we can do much more and put it down to an experience of something that won’t happen again,

PARKDEAN Hayling… NEVER AGAIN...

Just arrived back from PARKDEAN Hayling Island ...
We were dedicated a beautiful van the lay out was amazing only trouble was It STANK!!! I think who ever was in there just before us must have had a dog that was none to clean, My Wife spent ages using SHAK N VAC then hoovering i up as well as loads of air freshner!!! we also found the drink prices over the top but then they always are in these places!! but the biggest annoyance was the entertainment (or rather lack of it) for what we payed I wont going there again...
so if you fancy over priced drinks and lousy entertainment then be my guest and good luck...

Waste of money!!!

Myself, my partner and our two young children recently stayed at Pendine Sands in a Park Dean caravan. This was our third visit, and our most expensive visit - costing us £895 for 7 nights.

We booked through Park Dean and selected a Dulais+ caravan, having looked through the photos online and the specifications and deciding it was worth paying extra for this caravan as it promised to be extra wide and the photos were lovely.

HOWEVER..

When we arrived at the caravan we quickly realised we hadn’t been given what we’d paid for. The caravan looked nothing like the photos, and the inside of our caravan actually matched the interior photos of a lower grade caravan on the website. Also, the gas fire in lounge and the soundbar that was promised in the Dulais+ specifications were nowhere to be seen!

I quickly phoned the reception to enquire into whether we’d been placed in the wrong caravan, to which I was told no, and that the caravan we were staying in is what we’d paid for. When I asked where the gas fire was & the soundbar I was told these things have been removed - when I asked why they weren’t taken off the website if they were no longer available the lady responded with “I dunno”... also, when I told her the caravan looked absolutely nothing like the photos on the website, with the layout being completely different as well as the interior decoration, the lady at reception said to me - “sorry love, our photos are just to reel you in and get you to book with us and the caravan never actually looks as nice as it does in the photos, it’s like a McDonald’s advert - the burger you get never looks like the burger in the photo.”

!!!!!!! 😡😡😡 !!!!!!!!

I was speechless. What do you say to that? She refused to help and said she couldn’t move us as all caravans were fully booked on site - which I know wasn’t true as myself and my partner saw many many caravans unoccupied for the whole week we were there!

After being incredibly let down by our rubbish & overpriced caravan we decided to get out and visit the pool to book our children in for activities. We booked them in for a few activities over the course of the week, paid upfront & left our phone number incase the pool staff needed to contact us for any reason... but when we turned up for the activities, we were greeted by a sign stuck on the pool entrance door saying the pool had been shut and activities cancelled & sorry for the inconvenience! With no warning & no phone call! Try explaining to two young children who are dressed ready in their costumes ready for their activity that they’ve been excited for all day that they can’t go now because the pool has shut. And this happened every time! The pool was closed 75% of our holiday. Which led to two very upset children. And it took us days to get our refunds for the activities we’d booked and paid for because the staff kept shutting the pool without reason!

Also, the evening entertainment for the children provided by the Troopers was a complete let down on our last evening. We had two children very excited to see Sid and Lizzie for the last time before we went home - just to be told the show had been cancelled, with the Trooper saying it wasn’t busy enough to put on the show so she handed out colouring books to the kids instead and told them to colour!

There was over 30 children present with their families, so to state it wasn’t busy enough to perform the Starlanders Sid and Lizzie show was disgusting and left a lot of children including our own extremely upset. The troopers then went and sat behind the desk talking between themselves for an hour while the children were stuck to colour on the dance floor.

Our holiday was a complete let down, with our caravan being the worst as we’d paid £895 for the holiday and spent another £300+ inside the Sands bar on activities, the arcade, food & drink.. so Park Dean made £1195 off us during that week and when we complained to management about our stay and the response from reception when we expressed our concerns and disappointment about the caravan, all we were offered was £60 off our next stay.

How on earth does £60 compensate a wasted £895? We were looking to book again the end of August for my birthday but after our recent stay will be going elsewhere and using Haven in future!

Park Dean you have lost regular customers and your response to our complaint wasn’t taken seriously. We expected at least half the cost of our holiday returned to us in compensation or a free holiday for at least 3 nights as compensation.

Instead we were ignored and pushed aside, and I know we aren’t the first as I’ve seen hundreds of customers comment on your Facebook page stating your customer service is disgusting and their holidays were also a let down & their caravans disgusting and unclean & not what they paid for!

I’ve also notified trading standards of the specifications our caravan should have included, that we paid for, and that weren’t available in our caravan during our holiday because you’ve removed these features but are still falsely advertising them on your website!

Breydon Water Burgh Castle Norfolk

Our stay was at Breydon Water Burgh Castle Norfolk, 3 generations in a touring caravan.
The pool was good although overcrowded and visits were therefore time limited. The Gym equipment was better than expected but lack of any ventilation made it very uncomfortable. The only shower option at the gym was an open unisex shower which also served the entry to the swimming pool, less than ideal after a workout.
The entertainment area and children's playground area was good and very popular.
There were clothes washing and drying machines in a designated laundry area but unfortunately there were no dedicated facilities to wash out clothes by hand - the only option was the wash rooms or the dishwashing area, very unsatisfactory.
The toilet/shower block left a lot to be desired. The tiled floor was covered in a blue plastic covering with holes in it so that any dirt walked into the toilet block remained stuck in the plastic covering. On an 8 day stay we saw the plastic covering removed and washed only once.
It was disappointing that there were no toilet brushes available to provide an acceptable state of cleanliness of the toilet for the following user.
The size of the toilet/shower facilities on the touring/camping field was inadequate for the number of campers and the level of cleanliness could be much improved.
The camping pitches were not separated by any walkway so that campers walking to the toilet/shower block walked through our pitch and that of our neighbour in a constant stream, even when we were having a meal outside. This could be easily solved by the provision of a marked walkway to provide access.

Cherry Tree - Great Yarmouth

Just returned from this park after a 5 day break. Had a Ranworth caravan for 8 but this was nothing like the pictures online or in the brochure.
Overun with ants - shower room stank of urine - tv was of laptop screen size - no privacy in living area once curtains were opened. Pool rather a boring area for kids.
Left disappointed by whole experience.
Would not book here again.

Having booked a 5 day break during May…

Having booked a 5 day break during May half term for my daughter, her husband and my 5 year old granddaughter at Highfield Grange in Essex for a mini honeymoon. I am very disappointed at their attitude towards my complaint. Prior to their holiday I contacted the site to inform them that this break had been booked for their honeymoon and to made sure everything was ok for them when they arrived. But unfortunately it wasn't, shortly after they arrived there was a power cut on site, which meant that they had no power to heat the hot water for showers, the fridge freezer didn't work so all the food that they had put in there was ruined, lights worked, no entertainment, and the swimming pool was closed. Not great when you are on a budget and in a caravan with poor weather with a 5 year old child. To top this the double bed in the bedroom had three broken slats which meant the bed sagged badly, and was extremely uncomfortable, so much so that they decided to sleep on the floor in the lounge area. The shower was also broken and wouldn't stay up so to shower they had to hold the shower head in place. When I was informed by my daughter of the problems I suggested that she go to the reception and log a complaint immediately. I also telephoned the site and made a complaint as i booked the break for them. But like my daughter had already informed me they weren't interested and seemed to find the power cut a funny issue! No additional entertainment was put on for children, or vouchers given for them to get some food, especially as they were able to cook on site in there caravan.
I eventually received a letter from the site offering my £50 off of our next holiday at Highfield Grange!!!! absolutely disgusting, no compensation for no entertainment, swimming pool, food that was lost or indeed the inconvenience that they suffered on their honeymoon!! I would never go back to a ParkDean Resort again, and i am appalled at the way this complaint has been brushed aside.

Park Dean just gets better

We have been using park Dean for well over 15 years and have enjoyed every single one of my breaks. The last five years have been the best as the parks just get better and better. We have just returned from Sandford it's a beautiful park well run ,well maintained the reception staff are efficient friendly and knowledgeable. Our Caravan was spotless and car parking easy. The pool is lovely and clean and children's play area very safe.we recommend the fish and chip shop as it was delicious.we didn't use the club area but the bar was comfortable with a good selection of Beer and Wine . The bus stop is at the entrance to the park and will take you to Poole,Swanage castle Corfe and many other villages. We will DEFINITELY BE GOING BACK.we have booked four holidays with park Dean this year and can't wait for our next stay with them.

It doesn't matter what you pay - it's poor value.

Was at Sandylands staying in one of their top of the price range caravans with balcony over a long weekend from 16th March - 19th March. Caravan was cosmetically lovely to look at but downright uncomfortable to sit in or sleep in. It appears that you need to be less than 5' in height to get the most out of their rock hard sofa's and uncomfortable beds. I am 5'4" tall yet I found the seating too low to rise from with ease & the bed again the same problem. Cooking on the stove was also a nightmare, as the oven took too long to cook anything, cooking on the hob or using the toaster set off the smoke alarm, so microwave meals was the only solution. I have reviewed Sandylands a few years back with their Bronze or lowest priced caravan & although I wasn't expecting the luxuries of home from home, found those caravans cold & non functional - hence why I opted for a higher spec this time around. Don't get me wrong, the higher spec caravan is very pleasing to the eye & will serve a purpose, but at those prices, I expect the caravans to be functional, comfortable & similar to home. What I experienced was back pain & bad meals. TV & central heating was perfect, although there was no promised DVD player. Overall impression is that unless I was really stuck & prepared to pay through the nose for a morsal of comfort just because it is the closest to home - use a hotel instead - you might not have as much space but you get what you pay for.

Worst holiday experience with Park Dean Resort (Ty Mawr)

We booked a 3 days weekend break with Park Dean (Ty Mawr) but we left the resort after 2 nights of stay, due to the worse holiday experience.
Reasons:
1) When we called to Park Dean (number given in email), on the day of our arrival to confirm for the double glazed and central heating, they said that they can't confirm because caravan will be allocated on arrival. I offered to pay extra to make sure we get central heating because we didn't realise that we got to pay separately for central heating, but they refused to confirm.

2) There was no water in our caravan for two nights, we had no clean plates and mugs next morning. All blame was put on frozen pipes due to adverse weather. No arrangements to deal with such type of situations. UK is a cold country so management should have done better planning for weather.

3) No alternative was offered to compensate the customers for the poor arrangements, apart from offering to fill the water for the kettle from reception.

4) Indoor pool temperature water was not warm enough and my kids were literally shivering while swimming. (I wished we were Crocodiles).

5) No remote was given with TV but when we called a couple of times then our TV was replaced by another TV set, which was slightly bigger than my laptop.

I am not exaggerating, I got a voice recording of all the conversation which I had with Park Dean.
People can listen to themselves and decide.

Excited to go

I caravan holiday almost every year, mostly haven. But I want to have a nice experience without it costing so much. I know what I am paying for, whether it is high or lower quality so I am without expectation. But when I use Park resorts it is not only very affordable, but I can enjoy a nice caravan depending on my booking week. The staff in my personal experience have been very friendly and quick to help when I ask for help. I am going again to them this year and to a very affordable 2017 caravan with veranda and en suite shower toilet room. I am very satisfied. Thank you.

I've used this company twice before for …

I've used this company twice before for my family holiday in Wales. Carmarthen Bay and North Wales. Recently completed my last visit and would not return to any of the Park Resort sites due to my experience at Carmarthen Bay this October. The star troopers insulted the audience, dirty caravan, staff unprofessional and the list goes on. BTW it does not make sense to inform the company due to the person you complaining about would be the one dealing with the complaint. Which in my opinion defeats the process. Don't miss interpret my review, Wales is a lovely place, if you want to have a great holiday with positive memories in Wales, avoid staying at Park Resorts sites especially Carmarthen Bay.
