Paul gave a great one to one videography workshop that was catered to my needs and the things that I needed to focus on to improve my skills. I feel empowered to practise on my own and use the skills Paul shared with me. Brilliant, and would highly recommend.

My friend and I took a full day 1-2-1 course with Paul as it had been many years since we went to college and learned (pre digital) basic photography skills which we had forgotten and so been stuck in auto mode.

Paul immediately put us at ease, listened to our stories, worked with us and patiently repeated the 3 elements until we were able to repeat them back and understand when to use the different manual settings. What a fantastic setting in Newquay too. We took some beautiful beach shots under Paul’s expert guidance. There was much more to the day than this, including a run through editing resources and my own camera settings. I am now very much more comfortable with my camera and eagerly practising. I would thoroughly recommend Paul to anyone wanting to learn from scratch or expand their existing knowledge.

I contacted Paul at short notice to potentially photograph my daughter's wedding in St Ives. Not only did he agree to the shoot, he took complete control from the first minute to last, taking away any stresses for the bride and groom!

From chatting to them ahead of the big day for any specifics to guiding the party around St Ives, from the venue and beyond, Paul was a pleasure to work with. He promised some stunning shots and was exactly true to his word, delivering 200 images that captured everything about the day perfectly, including of course the stunning Cornish scenery.

A really nice added touch was the personalised presentation box when the photos were posted with a USB to match.

Imagining the photos was one thing but actually seeing them quite another.

From chatting to Paul before, during and after the wedding day and seeing the end product, I can say with confidence his outstanding skills would enhance any occasion and create lifelong memories.

Paul is an amazing photographer, not only is his work fantastic, he was friendly, punctual and super-efficient. He made a group of self-conscious people very at ease for their portraits, and the end results were fabulous! We would thoroughly recommend Paul and will be working with him again in the future.

We arrived with no knowledge of how to use a DSLR camera correctly and, thanks to Paul's excellent knowledge and great teaching ability, we had grasped the basics by the end of the course. It was a thoroughly worthwhile and enjoyable day. Thank you Paul

Today I had the pleasure of meeting Paul to teach me about my Nikon camera who was so friendly and approachable made me feel at ease instantly like I had known him for ages. My opening line to Paul was “I have all the gear and no idea” which was 100% true.
Paul took the time to explain to me how to use the camera, in-depth knowledge of how to take a photo in multiple locations, Long and short distance, rain and sunny conditions. Even when I hadn’t remember what he had taught me he didn’t make me feel silly just explained it again or in a different way until i did.
I can honestly recommend Paul to anyone starting out in photography. His experience and knowledge is impeccable. Thank you!

Having some knowledge of photography, I knew I lacked and needed more in-depth confidence to tackle working with manual mode. I decided to take a 1-2-1 with Paul. Not knowing what to expect, I was very pleasantly surprised at the calm, pleasant and very knowledgable manner in which Paul explained the three main basic principles of manual photography. Within a short time, I had a complete basic knowledge of the principles and with Paul's encouragement was experimenting with shoots, to prove my knowledge.
I cannot recommend PaulDavidSmith Photography enough and will certainly go back to him for further lessons. An excellent day of being taught and fun.

Paul was extremely friendly, lovely, caring and made sure that I was ok throughout the entire shoot. He made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. The photos are incredible and my boyfriend will love them. I highly recommend Paul for any photography session. 10 start experience.

Very good! Paul is a very good teacher and everything he will explain is clear and simple. Very valuable class i highly recommend it if you wish to never use automatic mode on a camera and improve your skills.

I have owned a decent camera for many years and always felt that I was the weak link in the camera - me relationship. I just didn't seem to understand the link between the different settings and how to get better pictures. I decided to take a 1-2-1 with Paul in the hope that he could enlighten me, well he certainly didn't disappoint.
His teaching method suited me perfectly, within an hour or so I had a greater understanding of my camera, how to work within the dreaded "Manual" setting. By the time we had finished the lesson i felt more confident and really enjoyed exploring the different aspects of basic photography. Paul was patient and enthusiastic while genuinely taking pleasure from seeing my improvements, no matter how small.
I would thoroughly recommend Paul if you are serious about improving your skills.

I had the most brilliant session with Paul - he answered all of my questions and solved problems which I have had for years with ease. His manner was great - very friendly and helpful and made me feel like no question was too small to ask. I feel reinvigorated and motivated with my photography again - thank you Paul!

I did the beginners masterclass with Paul and it was excellent. He is very good at explaining the different aspects of photography and especially how you bring the variables together to produce a great shot. In addition I found the practical exercises very useful to ensure you can put the theory into practice. This course is a great way of getting up to speed with a complex DSLR, I now have the confidence and knowledge to never return to auto mode!

I visited Paul for a 1-2-1 photography course yesterday
On meeting Paul I found him to be friendly easy to get on with and very very knowledgeable
I am a typical amateur with all the gear and no idea and have been trying to take photographs for many years and sometimes results have been good but others not so good so needed help
Before the course I had sent Paul some of my previous efforts for him to review and tailor the course to help sort my problems
On the course I found it well structured and organised to fix my failings
Paul did that well I found the course really really good and came away after a good day of tuition and practice
Now I need to put into practice the things learnt

Paul understood my requirements perfectly and the product photos he delivered exceeded my expectations in terms of quality. I'm sure they will help with sales conversions! I am so happy with how they have turned out and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to others.

Great course! In 4 hours we went from knowing almost nothing to having a basic understanding of ISO, Aperture and Shutter Speed. Finally we know what all those options on our cameras are for and our photos will improve no end!

Would highly recommend! I came away from 1 day with paul knowing how to use my camera inside and out and how to take better photo's with better composition. Paul's knowledge about photography is amazing. This course is great for any levels.

I booked in to do the beginner course with Paul in the hope I would get a clearer understanding of the basics of photography and build on the research I’d already been doing. From the booking process of the course to leaving at the end I’m very glad I came across him as it was money well spent.
His approach to teaching, for me, definitely made me feel relaxed and confident in myself that I was capable and smarter than my camera.
I was able to leave feeling confident I had a clear understanding of everything we had covered and I can also look back over the images we took during the course and see a real difference between those that were taken weeks ago and those at the end of course which I had confidently taken in manual mode.
