This system is one that victimises the poor. First, let me tell you how i was forced into the system. I fairly criticised the bank manager at the RBC on Rideau St. OTTAWA. I was sent a letter saying that due to "suspocious activity" my account was being closed. The only suspicious activity was the bank aaking me to re-identify, they refused to issue me a replacement card. I had asked them to simply mail it to me, which they also refused. Suspicious avtivity indeed. Now i pay 2 dollars to check my balance, i pay trans fees to remove cash but am given two cash withdrawls, only. Thr card wouldn't work for POS for 2 months.. this is a money grab by RBC. Ripped of by corporate greed. Furthermore deposits to the card are delayed unlawfully. The drposit was approved yet they failed to deposit even though it was clearly scheduled for one day. Why would they hold it an extra day?? An awful systrm designed to maximize profit on the backs of the poor. Frustrating.
Went to make a payment by credit card and had to read out only after reading out the details i get told they don't accept AMEX - after accepting the details. I asked to speak to Australian based. Not possible.
Went to make a direct credit payment as the banks details are not recognised by the bank.
