I ordered, and paid, $13,022 on May 20th, 2025 for a refrigerator and microwave. Until this week nearly mid September, (when I finally stopped being nice and made a fuss) I started to receive my goods & services that were missing. Withholding that for nearly 4months after taking so much of my money is theft. (I already spoke with police and plan to file criminal charges against the managers and associates I worked with at my local precinct)
The refrigerator was delivered early July but was improperly installed. (And they advertise that they get it right the first time… NOPE). Those installers also left my apartment a MESS. Moved a couch which required two of the men to move and then left it for me to move back myself. They rolled up my carpets and left them in the middle of the living room and I tripped and fell and bruised my face (I have pictures for the criminal investigation)
The sales associate, Silvio Scortez sent another PC Richard installer, who did not fix it. He claimed it was because the water wasn’t on, but that made no sense because all the other appliances linked to it had water and some water does come out. So we got a representative of the manufacturer to come, and he independently verified that the refrigerator is fine, it was improperly installed and of course the water is on. So Silvio sent another set of installers, they were still unsuccessful. Those guys claimed it was the temperature of the water which is an even more absurd reason and anyone with basic science knowledge knows that’s not true. It has been left there since July. As of mid September now.
My microwave was attempted to be delivered on July 17th (note: two months after they happily processed my thousands of dollars that could have been accruing interest in a bank account). It did not fit, I wanted them to leave it anyway, but the installers took the microwave with them. The manager, Joseph Graves, claimed I told them to take it but that is false and slander putting words in my mouth, I would have never signed off on that, and I didn’t. I called over and over again, sent multiple unanswered emails but Silvio and the managers (Joseph Graves, William Campbell, Bill) at the Manhattan Chelsea store ignored me and essentially ghosted me. (I obviously have timestamped emails and phone calls with time duration to show they were unanswered)
Haven’t we learned by 2025 that you can’t lie about things that are timestamped? They are making it out to be my fault and I am flabbergasted by the flagrant gaslighting by these men.
I also want to side note that in late May I took a day off of work (and lost pay) so that PC Richard installers could come do measurements and verify everything is okay and will fit. They checked off that YES it WOULD fit and everything was fine. I have the documents that literally say this and the owner does NOT need to make changes. Then of course on July 17th they blamed me. I have email proof of me showing Silvio all of the documents but he did not care. Nevertheless, I played nice, after July 17th I made the changes right away. I tried to tell Silvio this, however, as mentioned, he stopped responding to me. No signs of life. Ghosted with my microwave.
Exasperated, on Monday (9/8/25) I sent an angry email to the managers, filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and a few other NY consumer fraud complaint agencies, and FINALLY got some responses. Silvio and Joesph magically remembered I existed. After much, much, much back and forth. I received the microwave on 9/10. Still not properly installed but at this point I’d soo much rather do that quick easy fix myself. Home renovations 101. Not sure why they charge an installation fee if their installers can’t actually install?
As of right now, the refrigerator is still not fixed. I have received zero compensation for these unprofessional negligent mistakes. I feel that taking my money on May 20th when it could have been in the bank and used elsewhere and holding my goods & services was inexcusable and I want a refund for the damages. I lost wages for ALL of the appointments I had to stay home for.
Today the manager Joseph suggested that he set up a time for them to come and remove all of the appliances so they can give me my money back. Sounds a lot like a scared bully school boy trying to leave my home with my refrigerator. Wild. You want this guy managing a store throwing out solutions like that?
Overall, this has been incredibly distressing from a company I admired literally from my fond childhood memories. This is not even close to being in line with your slogan of honesty, integrity, and reliability. In fact my consumer fraud reports were partly for false advertisement due to this and faulty installations. I lost time from my job in public service and I am appalled by how I was treated.
Our salesman, Jay, is always friendly and helpful. It ends there. The manager, let's call him Steve, is a very unprofessional and rude individual. The delivery of my BBQ was 3 hours late of the window. No call. Drivers finally got here and were rude and unfriendly. I tipped them anyway because the store probably put too many deliveries on the truck. Called the store a few times and was told youre next youre next. Two hours later they finally showed, Called the speak to the manager and after holding forever finally he gets on and not only isn't he apologetic, he is dismissive and rude and finally hung up on me. I like to buy local and have bought several high ticket items but they are officially off my list.
Purchased front load new washer and dryer both units with pedestal. Day before delivery we received notification, that after 8pm, they going to give us 3 hours window. they never did. Today they delivered washer and dryer, but without pedestals. Driver told us, that pedestals are on the back order, so they installed machines without pedestal and left. Half an hour later second track pulled in and delivered pedestals. After we called the store, they schedule pedestal installation two days later. What a mess. Stay as far as you can from this store.
Review for Bosch Dryer and Customer Service by Shakhnoza Bentzinger
I am extremely disappointed with both the Bosch dryer I purchased and the customer service I have received. After investing in an eight-year extended warranty through P.C. Richard, my Bosch dryer stopped working just a few months in. For the past two months, I’ve been dealing with a complete nightmare of service delays and unprofessional behavior.
The technician from Bosch, named Paul, initially refused to come unless I, Shakhnoza Bentzinger, was personally home to pay him, despite my extended warranty covering all costs. When I explained my nanny would be there, he canceled the appointment outright. Only after intervention from P.C. Richard did he arrive, and when he did, he was rude, arrogant, and dismissive. Worse, he didn’t even fix the dryer.
Now I’m waiting on another technician, and I have been without a working machine for almost two months. This level of customer service is absolutely unacceptable. If you’re considering Bosch, be warned that their warranty service can be a nightmare. I hope they improve, but based on my experience, it’s been a frustrating ordeal.
I bought a JennAir induction cooktop from PC Richard in February 2025 and it has been a nightmare from day one. It has never worked right and I’m now on my sixth service visit with no solution in sight. They keep swapping out parts but nothing fixes it. I haven’t been able to cook a real meal for my family in months. When I asked for a refund or to choose a different model, they flat-out refused, saying they only do that if it’s “unfixable”, but how is this not unfixable? On top of that, every time they’ve lifted the heavy cooktop in and out, they’ve scratched the top of my JennAir fan, which sits flush with it. I am beyond frustrated and completely disappointed with both the product and the service.
I live in long island and as one of the few PC Richardson stores left that I went to had terrible service. They do not know what they are doing and they upcharge you on your receipt, please check it before you leave. I went in there for a printer and paid $2 more on each of the 2 inks I bought and (19.99 went to 21.99 and 29.99 went to 32.99 although the sticker was on the ink cartridge)
They were not good ink, and as well they sold me a broken computer that has a problem with the ink cartridge. It was sold as is but he focused more on the sale than he did telling me what the issue was. They sell you broken items knowing that it would cost more to be fixed, please be careful and shop around. This "family owned" business has created an environment that seems like they are cleaning out their families garages. Be careful and stay focused, happy shopping!
After numerous visits to repair my induction cooktop, PC Richard’s finally came yesterday to install the needed part. I was relieved that the nightmare was over. Or so I thought! It turned out that they needed yet another part. PC Richard’s had to order it! Why doesn’t this company have parts in stock? This has been the worst repair service I have ever experienced.
Everything went wrong. First, the install--crew came with two new window Windmill AC units...both 12,000 BTUs. The two men said they had 14 deliveries to do after our delivery. They came with two install kits. 1) Foam pieces did not fill the gaps in either of our two windows. 2) the exterior brace for one unit was meant for a smaller unit. 3) They installed the two units foam that did not seal
properly (bugs got in immediately) and one brace was for a12,000btu unit and one was for a smaller one. The installers said "that' what they gave us." OK. I called the store to complain. I was told it would take another week for another crew to return. HELP! I paid for both delivery and install!
Terrible customer service. PC Richard doesn't care about helping their customers. It's been over two months since reporting several issues with my purchase, an LG A/C , and they have done nothing.

We are now three weeks into the saga of microwave delivery. Three previous days delivery has been promised and not fulfilled. Today it was promised between 8:30am and noon. It is now 2:15 with no communication at all from PC Richards. This is unconscionable. If I could rate this lack of any service whatsoever below one star, I would give it minus 5! My recommendation is that you go to one of the many other appliance dealers and avoid PC Richards like the plague!

Awful service and installation. I can't believe how awful of an experience i had with PC Richard and Son. When installers arrived they were rude and even pressured me into paying them an additional $130 dollars for brackets. A few weeks later, we discovered that the AC was installed incorrectly and was leaking down the wall. We had to attempt to re-do it ourselves. Customer service has not been helpful either!

I bought a refrigerator from them 2 years ago and bought a 2 year warranty from them. My fridge stopped working and I called their service department and they said my 2 year warranty was over, which I didnt understand because it comes with a 1 year manufacturer warranty and the 2 year warranty I purchased should of been on top of that but he said no they go hand and hand which makes no sense because why would I be paying for a year of warranty that's already covered? Then he told me they dont have technicians to repair the brand of my fridge anyways so why sell me a warranty I wouldn't be able to use regardless? They take your money and dispose of you after that no urgency for the customers whatsoever.
Buyers, beware of PC Richards rigid return policy!!! I purchased an a/c during the recent heat wave 6/2025. My room size is 154 sq. ft. and I purchased LG 10,000 BTU's. This is more than enough to cool the room. I had a question, and I call the store. A woman answered the phone, and gave me her name, which was very unusual. I asked her 3x what her name was, still did not get it. I asked her to spell it. she said "I just gave it to you!" with an attitude, and refused to spell it. Her name was Zephriah (sp). I asked to speak to a manager, and I got Ziyiriah (SP). I explained the encounter I had with Ziyiriah (SP) she said. "I was there, she gave you her name!" (with attitude) Yes, she gave me her name but, when I asked her to spell it, she refused. In establishments where there are good customer service, employees will proudly say, and spell their names, because they know they are providing quality customer service, and has nothing to hid. Not here! Anyhow, after using the a/c I noticed it took approximately 4 hrs. to cool the room. I called the store 21 times. I was placed on hold, for long periods sometimes 15 -20 mins. I called back. They transferred me to Dan the sales man who sold me the a/c. He place the call on hold never returned to the phone. I called back, asked for Dan, I was told there are no employee by that name. I provided my phone #, they checked my order, Dan was my sales man. Dan came to the phone, told me he would get me a manager. I waited, and waited, and no one came. I called back, asked for Dan. There is no one there by that name. I was very frustrated, I called back, and I got a man with a strong Indian accent. I asked to speak to Dan, He said "No one works here by that name" I said to him "this place runs like a mom & pop shop. I have been trying to speak to Dan, or a supervisor, for the past 11/2 hour. I have been placed on hold for long periods, and no one returns the phone. He said "stop yelling at me, or I will hang up the phone!" I said to him "Go ahead! don't hear me yelling, what you hear is a frustrated customer who has been on the phone for 11/2 hours trying to get help. And by the way, there's a difference between yelling, and speaking firmly" He said "I don't need you to educate me" I said " I will, because you're using words in the wrong context". He disconnected the phone. I called back 7 times. Each time I called, the phone was disconnected. I went to the store, spoke with manager Sarah, explained to her what I encountered, and showed her my phone log of how many times I called, and how many times I was hang up on. She never apologized. She stood there with a stern look on her face telling me that PC Richards do not sell merchandises on trial basis. I said "and I don't buy puss in a bag" I asked for the phone number for corporate, stepped out of the store to my car, then walked back in. I caught Sarah, and another woman discussing me in conversation.

from start to finish, my 50 inch samsung 8qf tv was set up and running in a short time. the 2 delivery men did a nice job. my problem is not with PC Richard but with samsung for putting large screen tvs on the market that have what i think are built in defects. 1. losing sound out of nowhere. this has happened a few times so far.
but samsung in their wisdom knew about this defect and informs you in the manual that you have to go into the settings and look for a device care logo. then you have the tv tun a diagnostic and the sound is fixed. but until i found out how to fix i was cursing PC and Samsung all over the place. what they say to do addtionally is pull the main plug or the dvr box disconnect and then wait and then reconnect. hey mighty samsung that is not what this 84 year wants to do and i spend over $700 for a new tv. Your products should come out of the factory in perfect conditions. if you are builing in fixit solution in the fancy tv, then it is your fault.
one other annoying feature is the tiny remote control device. very thin, perhaps 5" long with only press buttons. no numbers like the old remotes. it may take awhile to get used too, especially for us old folks .
Horrible delivery experience. Crew never showed during initial window, called to find out where they were and were told our window had magically been changed. They didn’t show in the new window either. They finally arrived hours late. We had moved an appointment for this delivery and lost money on that and ended up waiting around the entire day. Crew was sloppy and dirtied and dinged up our walls and paint. We will no longer use PC Richard’s after that experience.
They’re super nice and helpful to get you to buy a refrigerator at the Yonkers store and then once you swipe your card they’re suddenly nowhere to be found. Worst customer service / communication ever. Salesperson doesn't return calls (they give you their cells) and you might have to call the store number 3, 4, 5, times before anyone even answers the phone. They ask you to email COI info ASAP and when you provide it ASAP and ask for a reply email confirming that they received it (and will process it), crickets! Multiple follow-ups on this COI also yields exactly zero responses. It should not take 7 days to get a response from your salespersons (2 people worked on this order and neither one replied to calls). I have cancelled my order and requested a refund.

Paid to have old dishwasher removed and new one installed. Company did neither. Do not trust this company.
I placed an order for same-day delivery. I met the cutoff time. The order didn’t arrive. I was told it would instead arrive the next day (June 25) between 11am–2pm. That never happened either.
The delivery team showed up at the PC Richard & Son store on Broadway in NYC, but couldn’t pick up the unit because the store couldn’t locate it. Eventually, the store manager said the AC unit had been “found” and would be delivered by 4pm. Nothing showed up. I called back at 8:50pm, 10 minutes before closing, and was told — again — that the order was never picked up. Their suggestion? That I get in an Uber the next day and pick it up myself.
Let’s be clear: I didn’t pay for same-day delivery just to spend $50+ on Ubers to do it myself. That’s not a solution. That’s avoidance.
The next morning, after it became clear they had no intention or ability to deliver it that day either, I called and asked to cancel the order. The customer service rep said it had been cancelled and I would receive an email confirmation shortly. Nothing came. I called back two hours later and was told the order had never been cancelled, and that I would need to go through the store directly — even though it was an online order.
I called the store. They confirmed it was cancelled. Still no email. I called back again. A third customer service rep told me they had to “shut down their entire system” just to cancel this one order — and even then, the cancellation still hadn’t gone through.
So as of now:
– No AC unit
– No delivery
– No refund
– No confirmation of cancellation
– No apology
– No ownership
– No attempt to fix it
Just a cascade of miscommunication, disorganization, and wasted time. I’ve spent two full days calling this store, following up, missing business meetings, and trying to resolve something that never should’ve gone this wrong.
The worst part? Not one person took accountability. Not one person followed through. No one even attempted to make it right.
I don’t know what kind of operation they’re running, but it certainly doesn’t reflect any values of honesty, integrity, or reliability. This experience cost me time, money, and trust — and the only thing PC Richard & Son delivered was complete incompetence.
Keith was really helpful from beginning to end of purchase of out refrigerator. The price was good and the refrigerator was delivered in the window they said. After a terrible experience with our repair of the last refrigerator I was pleasantly surprised by their patience with us (Friday at closing time) Love our new fridge too!
