Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 35 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many people encountered significant problems with trade-in assessments, often having their devices rejected or devalued for alleged damage or claims of not being factory reset. Reviewers expressed frustration and a sense of unfairness, particularly when devices they believed were in excellent condition were given zero value, despite careful preparation and documentation. However, some customers also noted positive experiences with the refund process. A few people reported receiving the full estimated trade-in value and their refunds were processed quickly. These individuals found the process to be straightforward when their device valuation matched the initial estimate.

Total Scam

I sent my Pixel 7 in pristine condition AND factory restored as per the guide they put in the shipping box.
I also manually removed the device from my Google account, even if the guides do not tell you to do so.
They refuse the trade-in because the device is not factory restored.

I would give 0 stars if I could!

I would give 0 stars if I could but sadly I can't.

After buying a new Google Pixel 9 Pro XL from Google Store UK, I posted my old Google Pixel 6 Pro using the trade-in kit that was sent to me by PCS Wireless as instructed with evidence of shipment. Upon seeing no progress on the shipment status on Royal Mail website for 10 days, I enquired it with the Post Office branch, and they asked me to contact Google which I did immediately that day.

Since then, there have been 31 emails back and forth with Google Support. Regrettably, most of the responses I got back from Google Support were templated replies asking me to escalate it with Royal Mail upon consulting with PCS Wireless. I went to the Post Office Branch four times as instructed by Google Support. Each time, Royal Mail informed me that PCS Wireless initiated the return process by purchasing and sending me the returns label and PCS Wireless had a direct business relationship with them as a result. They said I fulfilled my obligation by using the provided kit and handing it to them and they said I would not be able to escalate it with them. They said, because the business relationship is between PCS Wireless and Royal Mail through the purchase, PCS Wireless should contact them immediately using their business account for any further investigation and/or claims process. However, Google Support and PCS Wireless have so far been refusing to accept Royal Mail’s request to be contacted by PCS Wireless.

Avoid at all costs!

Don't trade in anything but a "like new" phone

Traded in an S21 towards a Pixel 9 Pro and after a very long wait PCS came back with a £0 valuation based on body damage. I believe they're talking about a scuff on the corner but that's cost me a £200 promotional bonus on top of the £150 estimate. I'm returning my pixel and I won't buy from the google store again.

Smooth and efficient

Honestly, I was dreading my Google Pixel 6 trade-in based on the reviews here, but the process was smooth, fast (3 days between sending and appraisal), and I got the maximum estimated trade-in amount. Really can't complain!

Pixel 7 trade-in

I've traded my Pixel 7 for Pixel 9 Pro XL. I've sent the device on Monday, it was delivered on Tuesday (to the Netherlands), I got confirmation that they got my device on Wednesday and on Friday I've received the result - that I'll get the full estimated amount - 347 EUR. On the next day the money was in my bank account.

Scammed like the other reviews

Same as the other reviews, but my experience went like this:

Bought a new pixel, it was a bit pricey but the trade in brought the price down, or so I thought. My four year old Galaxy Note20 Ultra was apparently worth £350 so I sent it off, in as good a condition as you'll ever see a four year old phone that's never been without case or screen protector.

I really expected to get less than that, it's an older phone, but it was apparently worth zero pounds and sent back for "damage to body". Which is suspicious, what condition are you expecting a four year old phone to be in to be worth £350? A couple of light scuffs is all it takes, apparently. Then I got a follow-up email saying the phone wasn't on the list of accepted devices and THAT'S why it was being sent back.

I received the phone, without the case I sent it in, and now with loads of give and gaps at the sides where they'd removed the back, reattached it and damaged the phone. I complained to Google and they told me a third reason, apparently now there was "internal damage". Convenient.

So I'm left now with a phone I factory reset that is now damaged, no case and the fact that I spent more than I wanted to.

Google's response? £40 store credit. I complained again and got a manager make the same offer. I complained again and was told this was the final resolution. I complained again and now I have a call with manager due this week.

I expect them to be as useless as every person I've spoken to this far.

Be warned, the trade-in is a scam. It's there to signpost a phantom discount that never appears and was never on the cards. Don't DO IT.

Sent a one year old Pixel 7 Pro in a Pixel 9 Pro exchange program with Google.
My pixel 7 pro was pristine, except for 3 screen scratches, one of which had even a tiny piece of glass chipped of, but no actual crack.
Seeing the review around here I feared for some issue but they refunded the full amount initially estimated (408€). The refund occurred within 3 working days of them receiving the phone.

Scam artists

Scam artists. Sent my phone in pristine condition and returned saying it was worthless because of damage to the body. Do not rely on these guys for your trade in.... You simply won't get anything even for the phone in the best condition. Leaves a real bad taste to the end of my pixel buying experience... Won't be buying directly from Google again.

Used as part of a increased cashback value when purchasing Samsung Pixel fold 9.
Sent phone in phone on a Thursday. They registered device on Monday. Cashback sent on Thursday for full amount of £336 for a £20 Samsung J3 2017. Was a bit nervous reading reviews on here but happy with end result

Full value received quickly

Pixel 7 pro traded in. Full value received (with pixel 9 pro XL bonus trade in value). Quick process. Quick payment (refunded to payment card).
I think, the assesment can show up faults that aren't obvious to the owner. I was lucky. And my phone was not perfect, the casing was very scratched. No screen protector etc.

Rubbish company

Rubbish company. Better not deal with them. I traded-in a very well kept Samsung S21 Ultra 512gb with no aesthetic damages other than a minor scratch on the charging port. Everything is in working order but after their inspection they decided to comment "Damaged body" and that my device was not eligible and that it's trade-in value was 0. You'll just waste your time trying to sort this out. Stay away.

Pixel Trade-In Scam - A Cautionary Tale

I was thrilled about upgrading to the latest Pixel and decided to trade in my Pixel 7 Pro. I meticulously ensured the phone was in pristine condition, performed a factory reset, and even included the case. Imagine my shock when I received an email from Google's trade-in partner, PCS Wireless, stating the trade-in value would be significantly reduced due to a non-functional touchscreen!

This is an absolute scam! My Pixel 7 Pro was in perfect working order when I sent it in. It's clear that PCS Wireless is using deceptive tactics to undervalue trade-ins and save money for Google. I'm deeply disappointed with this experience and urge potential Pixel upgraders to be cautious about the trade-in program. It seems like a convenient way to offset the cost of a new phone, but it can turn into a frustrating and costly ordeal.

Frustrating Experience with PCS Wireless Trade-In Program

I recently attempted to trade in my Google Pixel 8 Pro through PCS Wireless Systems to upgrade to the latest Pixel model. Initially, I was attracted to the convenience of receiving an immediate discount, despite the potential for higher earnings by selling the phone independently.

Unfortunately, my experience with PCS Wireless was marred by significant frustration and disappointment. Due to my ongoing visa processing, my residence card and related documents are currently with the consulate. I provided alternative documentation, including an email from the immigration office confirming my visa status, as proof of identity.

After two days of continuous discussions with a PCS Wireless support representative, I was informed that my documents were deemed invalid. This was incredibly frustrating, as these documents are legitimate and essential for my residency in the country. It is baffling how these could be considered inauthentic when they are recognized by official governmental bodies.

The support I received was unhelpful and dismissive, leading to an exasperating experience. It seemed as though the automated systems at PCS Wireless were more efficient and reliable than the human support staff. This ordeal has left me questioning the competence and customer service standards of PCS Wireless.

In conclusion, my interaction with PCS Wireless was unnecessarily complicated and frustrating. I hope they can improve their processes and support to better serve their customers in the future.

You've read it before here but from someone else.
P20pro, perfect condition, accused of screen burn what an utter bunch of Cobblers, even left the phone case and protector on to show how well it was looked after,. Value at the time went from £200 to zero as valueless, I got them to send it back, I'm not even sure if the same phone was sent back. Google store as much use as a chocolate fireguard, £30 as goodwill doesn't get me out of this expensive pixel fone
Always tempted to try again and put it down to a bad experience but along with the rest of the planet I won't trade in anything of value to me again

Google and PCS Scam

Traded in a Pixel 6 Pro via Google's website.
Quoted £240 value which was over double offered elsewhere. As others have stated, this is a scam. The phone will always be returned with unfounded damage. I asked Google to review this and they asked for a video of the device working. I clicked through several pages and played videos on my fully functional device with no damage. Google agreed with the third party and are unprepared to support customers. Stay away from this shady trade in scheme. If you're reading this I imagine you've been caught out after the event like myself. Good luck getting anywhere with these cowboys.

Liars

Liars.

These people 'work' for Google and run their trade-in process. A perfectly Pixel 6 Pro, provided with photo evidence of it in being in fine working order, met the terms of the exchange but they've said it has 'Major LCD damage' and returned a broken phone.

Google are useless and won't do anything. If you're being offered a trade-in with Google with these charlatans, please AVOID.

Lies from Google

Lies. Picked my phone model off Google's drop-down menu. Offered £69. Company sent it back as an unknown model. Google and this company are lying to you. Would not have chosen a Pixel if I had known this

Sent a perfect condition pixel 6 pro…

Sent a perfect condition pixel 6 pro through Google store for trade in. Initial report said turns on, factory reset no cracks. Few days later reported major LCD damage and worth £0.00, also an unrecognised model! I wouldn't have gone for the new pixel phone without the trade in. This is a classic scam. What us the best route to complain? This seems very common.
