I bought oxygen bleach which was initially described as having 'recyclable' packaging. When the bleach was done and the bag empty I tried to recycle the packaging, as the product listing said. However, the paper exterior was bonded to what appeared to be plastic. I wrote a complaint about the plastic appearance which was met with a polite but vague answer that the material was corn starch and biodegradable. This was not mentioned in their product listing plus even if paper is bonded with cornstarch, this cannot be biodegraded in a home compost bin. Cornstarch furthermore still requires stabiliser and other chemicals to make it work as a bag liner. To biodegrade it requires industrial, specialist methods. My request for a refund was ignored. By again being unclear and incomplete the email reply further added to the appearance of green washing. I reported their business practices to ASA who will have likely replied with recommendations following their own investigation. After I complained again I received a reply with better explanation from one of the owners. They wrote they changed their website description. I was finally offered a refund, as a 'gesture of goodwill', but there was still no recognition of getting it wrong, no apology nor thank you for bringing it to their attention with 2 emails. The tone of the email was snide in their closing wording, possibly because of the ASA report. I am speculating. But had Peace With The Wild apologised for their mistake, accepted accountability and checked their website listing themselves from the 1st email complaint they would not have been reported. I have taken my business to a different eco business that hopefully won't patronise me for complaining and investing unpaid emotional labour to point out their mistakes and work culture. Ethics are important so if you make ethical claims you have to do ethical business.

I have been shopping at Peace With The Wild for a few years now and have always been happy with the experience. The rewards scheme is generous and I have gotten a lot of money back through points over the years. There are a few products that I routinely purchase (dish brush heads and dish soaps) as well as products that have lasted me several years (unpaper towels). The food selection - chai, peanut butters, nuts - is also great. I would recommend to anyone trying to cut down plastic/palm oil in their shopping!

I have purchased from this amazing company multiple times and their customer service/ range of eco kind products and delivery (royal mail) are second to none.
I recently requested a special delivery (gift) and this was sent exactly as I requested.

I bought a very expensive, useless piece of silicone in the disguise of an avocado hugger. It only fits a small to medium avocado. This size still goes brown and larger avocados- forget it, it just ‘pings’ off. Threw the hugger in the bin. Maybe it will hug that better.

I bought a wooden scoop & thought I was buying an attractive one with whittled ridges in the handle, unfortunately I was sent the VERY cheap one you get out of Christmas crackers. I wouldn’t have paid 50p for what they tried to pass off as some kind of incredible, sustainable rubbish at great expense! Save your money & buy same product from Temu.

Good product selection and delivered quickly

I have never purchased anything from this company before but a chocolate bundle was available as a gift. This chocolate bundle wasn’t available elsewhere like my usual outlets so I decided to go. The gift was delivered by Royal mail however the packaging was ruined and wet but the customer services at peace with the wild were amazing. They were very reasonable and understanding and they resolved all of my issues and concerns straight away. I will definitely purchase from this company again and highly recommend them!

I really wanted to like this company because it's hard to find places that reliably sell eco friendly products, but all the food (oats, seeds) and the water bottle I bought from them has a distinctive herby taste, which is really not what you want in either oats or water. They also sent jumbo oats instead of rolled oats in one of the packets I bought (even though it was still labelled rolled oats). Additionally, I bought a cup that had a crack in it and leaked instantly. The most frustrating part is that there's no way to see customer reviews for products in order to know any of this in advance.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
They don’t respect customers rights to cancel subscriptions, tell lies, and continue charging you even after they have told you your subscriptions are cancelled.
I tried for 6 months to cancel 2 regular subscriptions for cleaning products. I tried to cancel it myself on their website - that didn’t work and I still got charged.
I contacted customer services twice and, on both occasions, I was told the subscriptions had been cancelled. They had not. I was still charged and the unwanted products still arrived!
Very disappointing for an ‘ethical’ business.
I have had to ask my bank to block them from my account.

Complete waste of money. Bought a bag of bleach granules and the bottom bust through the first time I used it. Full bag dropped into the bowl of water. Will stick to plastic bottles in future as this was a complete waste.

Super fast delivery, packaged sensibly - no plastic or massively oversized boxes! I was able to make a last-minute addition to the order by email; customer services replied quickly and were really helpful. A new favourite shop. Thanks!

I received my order today - five stocking fillers for different family members. Poorly packaged, items all look old - dusty, dirty and damaged. They threw in the small wooden toys unwrapped - free to bounce around against the metal containers in the package. It feels rather pathetic to be honest. The lack of care makes me want to send the items back. As it is, I might give them as early presents instead. I won’t be ordering from them again.

I’ve been shopping with this company for many years now and haven’t had any bad experiences. The customer service team have always been super helpful and quick to reply/remedy any issues and the quality of the products is generally high. I do wish that they would provide the opportunity for customers to write reviews on individual products as some of them are definitely better than others.

Transaction went well, but item was poorly packaged. The lid of the box was sealed with a very flimsy strip of tape and not totally sealed. Hardly any padding to prevent the item rattling about inside the box. Good job, the purchase was not breakable.

They are not concerned about the safety of their customers. I purchased a candle in a coconut shell which burnt through the shell. I was in the room when it happened so extinguished it quick with no harm done other than a scorch mark to my table. I wrote to the company and said I wasn’t worried about the damage to the table (it needed a sand anyway) but safety. They continued to sell the product despite my warning whilst looking into it. Eventually they came back and said it should be on a fire proof surface. It was, that doesn’t mean the product should catch on fire! Clearly they wanted to carry on selling these. I subsequently received another for Xmas as a gift from a friend….it went straight in the bin. I just don’t think the values of this company align with what they are trying to portray so won’t use them again.

Made quite a large order from them a week or go ago. Some of the products are very good. However, some of them are just a complete waste of time and don't work. They obviously don't do their own due diligence in the products they sell to ensure they are good quality. The website does not allow you to leave reviews on individual products, so you cannot see other people feedback about the products before purchasing. I imagine this is an intentional thing, I bet the items I bought would have had a number of poor reviews. Products I would avoid:
- Vent for change pens & refills (stops working every two words, tried a different refill and they are all the same)
- Washing up soap bar (doesn't matter how much you try and rinse items off after using, leaves white marks all over them)
- Coccoina natural glue (just about okay to stick one piece of paper to another, but not very strong, no where near as adhesive as normal Pritt stick)

I needed a new type of toothpaste as I wanted to break away from plastics. It is tricky to get used to getting the toothpaste from a jar rather than a tube, but after the weird feeling has passed; the clean feeling that I didn’t get with regular toothpaste is obvious. Good delivery speed, would recommend.

I am disappointed with the body puff , it is two pieces of fabric tied with string which came undone as soon as opened .
