Poor Customer Service and Exam Proctoring

I have had my Microsoft exam cancelled 3 times (so far). The last one waited until I was physically present to be told the exam center couldn't get the exam set up (ever since their computers updated to Windows 11). Was told it was a Pearson Vue problem. Exam takers had to stay for 30 minutes past exam time to get a "case number" (which apparently means nothing). 12 hours later, I received an email stating the exam center could not process my exam (12 hours earlier). Called the following day to reschedule to be told their system was down. Called two days later and spent 42 minutes on the phone to try to re-schedule. Fingers crossed I don't get cancelled a 4th time. Customer service is brutal!

My poor experience with pearsonvue

I wasn't even able to start my exam, I kept getting this one error, I called the customer support line to explain my problem, the person who picked hung up and never called back, I contacted support on the website and they havent gotten back to me and I have to write my exam before the end of this year
Please do better 🙏🏾

Unprofessional Proctors and an Inhumane Exam Experience

The proctors were dismissive, unprofessional, and lacked basic courtesy.
Questions were met with curt responses rather than clear guidance.
There was no empathy or effort to de-escalate a stressful situation.
This behavior is unacceptable in a high-stakes, paid exam environment.
I informed the proctor before the exam began that I might need a restroom break.
During the exam, I repeatedly requested a break but received no actionable response.
Due to an uncontrollable physical necessity, I had to immediately go to the restroom.
I returned within two minutes, at which point the proctor terminated the exam.

Trash company, trash customer service, trash technology

Studying intensely for my ISM CPSM certification. Successfully took and passed two exams through PearsonVUE earlier in 2025. Did all the prep for this third and final exam, completed and passed the system test, cleared my office, etc. for the check-in. Waited an inordinate amount of time for the proctor to get to my session even though I was "next in line!"

When the proctor finally deigned to show up, my exam was instantly canceled because the "proctor observed a violation". Did not even try to talk to me. Violation was not disclosed. This is an unacceptable practice for a business extorting such a cost for an online test. I did not move from my spot while waiting, there was no violation. Now I'm waiting to talk to someone in customer service but have been on hold for almost 30 minutes. These are not serious people, they do not care about you or your experience.

This company is an absolute joke. My coworker has had nothing but issues with THEM and THEIR technology, but it's always the participant's fault, it could never possibly be their outsourced call center "support". Having successfully taken and passed two ISM exams previously makes today's experience completely unacceptable.

Do not use them. Do not even go to a test center, just see if there's some other way to get certified. This company doesn't give a s*** once they get their money and this experience is yet another exhibit in mountains of proof provided from other participants. It is further proven through their unwillingness (or maybe "inability"?) to respond to negative comments here, despite having claimed this account. They see these reviews, they know their system has problems, they know the people giving them their bottom line are having unprofessional, rude, embarrassingly inept experiences with their technology and personnel. They don't care. They have their (YOUR) money now, so they know they do not need to do anything to fix any of these issues.

Would love for this company to crash and burn, the world would be a better place. Fingers crossed!

Exam revoked due to Proctors call failure

Proctored Exam prepped for (weeks) and scheduled for 1 month ago. Exam day. Technical system checks and initial exam check-in passed. Ready and confident after weeks of study to take this Exam! Oh yeah... exam forms part of end of year goals. Lets Do This, Reaaady!! Looking forward to smashing it actually!!! Waiting for Proctor to join ........

Proctor arrives, initial greetings. A bit abrupt / bossy but thats fine. Final stages of pre-exam-day identification, exam environment checks and exam release. What's this ... Proctors sub-continent call-center connectivity fails. 'Caller disconnection tone'. Chat still online so I say "your calls disconnected, please re-call me". Told by proctor it's my fault, on my hardware (it's not). No further discussion from Proctor apart from told to reschedule. Exam console closed. Exam-id terminated (cannot re-check-in). Re-schedule calendar page opens. Cannot rebook for 2 weeks. Miss end of year goals. Need to keep knowledge fresh for 2 weeks longer. Rude, abrupt, power-intoxicated Proctors ... appalling customer service.

Bad Experience

Support wasn't the worst, but they wasted my time and cost me money. I went through a lot to get my accommodation of extra time. I couldn't take the test at my school and had to take it at home. When i tried to setup the test they only had it on a day I had to work so I had to go into work late. The day of the test, the proctor signed in, and reading the way the test was structured, it said it was only an hour and not the extra time. I told him I didn't want to take the test if I don't get the accommodation. I opened a case and then saw that they decided against me. I didn't even take the test but they used it as a test. So now I have to pay for the test to take it. it's not right.

Utterly Abysmal

Passed all the system tests and got ready for my 9am exam. Made it all the way to the end of check-in and got stuck in the queue for 10 minutes. There were technical issues their end so I ended up missing my exam window after speaking to their "technical support" for ages, who were beyond useless - it was like speaking to a child. They couldn't tell me what was wrong, rearrange my exam, send me a transcript of the conversation, send a confirmation of escalation, or raise a complaint on my behalf. Each response took between 3-5 minutes, making for excruciatingly slow bandwidth for a time-sensitive conversation. I now can't re-sit this until the new year which is a major inconvenience and they really didn't care whatsoever. Baffling that major tech companies continue to partner with this atrocious company.

UPDATE 16/01/2026: At my rescheduled exam, the same thing happened AGAIN. Only this time, a proctor answered after 35 minutes in the queue, went to ask her manager something, and then hung up. This meant that my start window passed again. Unbelievable that they managed to top the first experience really.

I had a very poor experience with Pearson VUE OnVUE.

I checked in on time for my PL-600 exam and was placed in a queue with more than 80 candidates ahead of me. After waiting for around 20 minutes, I was suddenly disconnected and could not rejoin the exam due to a system error.

The live chat support was unable to resolve the issue properly and repeatedly gave contradictory information about refunds, asking me to cancel the exam myself, which would have put my payment at risk. The exam was only rescheduled after a long and frustrating chat.

I prepared for this exam for months and carefully coordinated the time with my work schedule, only to be forced into a late evening slot the next day due to apparent platform overload.

Unreliable system, overloaded queues, and unhelpful support. This is unacceptable for high-stakes, paid certification exams.

Made me unplug every single cord in my area even though everything was powered off. Lady from customer service was extremely when telling me what needed to be changed in my workspace. The whole process of this is annoying and frustrating. Hopefully companies/schools that need tests proctored, find a different and better option than Pearson VUE. Awful to deal with 0/10

Avoid using Pearson VUE service

I took a Microsoft online exam on 12th December. It’s now been over 60 hours and I haven’t received a single email or update about my results. On the same day, I chatted with one of the support agents who confirmed I had passed — yet there’s still no update on the Microsoft portal, and no one from this organisation responds to my questions.

The process is confusing and poorly coordinated. When you book the exam, you receive multiple emails. But once you actually take it, there’s complete silence. If you ask for help, they tell you to contact Microsoft — and on Microsoft’s website, it says to contact the test centre. It’s a frustrating loop with no accountability.

Absolutely awful experience and…

Absolutely awful experience and examination method. (Liverpool)
Avoid at all costs - I wouldn’t take this exam even for free. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Terrible company.

The whole process was a joke. I arrived early and wasn’t allowed to wait inside for 20 minutes, even though there were around 25 empty seats in the waiting room. Completely illogical and unprofessional.

The test environment itself was extremely distracting:
• No sound isolation at all - constant noise from other people.
• Not enough time to properly describe pictures or complete tasks.
• Chaotic, stressful conditions that make it impossible to perform well.
• £10 headphones from aliexpress- with very - very loud beeps (propably I will have tunitis after this exam)

On top of that, I witnessed someone being refused the exam because their document included a middle name, and he instantly lost £160. After reading other reviews, this seems to be a common issue.

A complete waste of money and time.
I genuinely cannot believe that the government lists this company as a recommended provider on their official website. Seriously - do not go there!

They make it their website as…

They make it their website as unfriendly as possible for test takers when rescheduling exams. You cannot see your booked exam on the portal and gaslight you that it is your fault. Don't mind that you are sick and you have a valid medical excuse. You won't get refunds. Absolute horse shit service.

PV cancelled my exam at last moment

I scheduled an exam with Pearson VUE in August for a date in December and received a confirmation. One week before the exam, I got an email asking me to reschedule via their website, but the website offered no way to do so. Shortly afterward, I received another email saying that I had cancelled my exam, which I absolutely had not.

I then spent at least 30 minutes on hold to reach customer service, only to be told that my exam slot was no longer available due to a “lunch closure.” I asked to move the appointment time and was informed that there were no more slots available anywhere in Switzerland, France, or Italy (the exam was supposed to take place in Geneva).

From prior experience at exam centres, I know there are usually far more workstations than candidates in the room, so this explanation felt completely unreasonable.

Unfortunately, I cannot give 0 stars to Pearson VUE, but that is what their service and customer support would deserve. I am extremely disappointed by the total lack of accountability and customer care and will avoid this company in the future.

Pearson Vue has the absolute worst…

Pearson Vue has the absolute worst online testing experience. I had two exams scheduled with them over two consecutive days. On the first day, despite passing all the system tests, the online proctor wasn’t able to hear me, so they had me close their app and restart three times only to rejoin the back of the queue each time, having to wait for a new proctor to pickup. Then the exam finally launched and terminated five questions in, so I had to re-launch for a 4th time!

On the 2nd day, the same thing happened so I told the proctor that I would rather not restart and asked him to check his speaker settings. My proctor totally blew up and revoked my exam without even talking to me or giving me a chance to explain! I mean I spent a lot of time and energy preparing for the exam only to encounter hostile proctors like this.

Honestly I don’t know how this company’s online testing product is still in service with all these negative experiences and reviews. I guess there is no accountability when it comes to testing companies because they know professionals need these certifications and product companies like ServiceNow are still willing to do business with them.

Incredibly frustrating

Absolutely never use this service if you can avoid it. I tried on 3 different computers - it wouldn't start the exam on my Macbook because of unkillable Notification Center background processes, and the application wouldn't even open on 2 different Windows computers. I'm not sure how anybody successfully takes an exam with this application. Customer service is buried on their website and is not helpful for immediate, concrete technical issues.
