The initial sales process with PV BMW is positive, but then thats because they want your money.
I have bought four BMWs from this dealer over a number of years, you would think I would have learned my lesson after previous bad post sale experiences but I like the brand.
Servicing - Main service seemed fine, however on a recent ‘seasonal check’ they were atrocious, including missing a highly dangerous tyre defect. Booked in for 11am, was told it would take 1 hour max as I was waiting for it to be complete. The car wasn’t taken in until 11:45am and then wasnt ready until almost 2pm. I hadn’t noticed the tyre had been badly damaged, one of the sales guys did. I said to replace it as upon checking it was in no way roadworthy. Got the car back, really not sure what, if anything was completes. Tyres came back as all good on the report, obviously not. I have a service plan but wont be using PV servicing again.
Trade in / new sale. While waiting for my car (it was a long wait, see above), I spotted a nice 128ti, decided to ask for a test drive. I asked at that time what the trade in for my car old be (Typical cheap sales tactic, they got me to test drive before they would give this). It was when they were checking my car that they highlighted the torn tyre side wall, I asked that the tyre be replaced. I test drove the 128ti, which had been through a few of the staff as a ‘demonstrator’ and liked it. Back to showroom and see about the trade in. Apart from the torn tyre and easily fixed damage to the same wheel (cost me £80 for the repair the next day) the car is in spotless condition. They offered what I thought was a very low trade in value but I was assured it was very competitive. I thankfully didnt buy the other car and was then kept waiting far too long for my car to be returned.
Trade in: After leaving I was offered £1250 more by WBAC, £1400 more by another dealer, either of these I had used before or was buying another car from (and not the fifth car from the same dealer)
Marketing: in the next week after leaving the showroom I was contacted not once or twice but FIVE times by phone asking about the VIP event and if I was interested in buying another vehicle - phone number 01315738718 now blocked - on each occasion I told them I was not interested and to stop calling.
Ive finally learned my lesson, I will not return to PV (any dealership) and while I have this BMW will go elsewhere to get it serviced. I have also decided I have had enough and will never buy another BMW. Post sale experience is atrocious, service process is very poor, phone routing when calling awful (unless you want to ask about buying funnily enough) and can be trusted to service properly

Pathetic service. I purchased my car from Peter vardy carz and that time the branch manager said your first service will be free at Peter vardy BMW garage. Now they are saying they cant do it. I've been scammed. Avoid them. Buy from Arnold Clarks.

Got a Mini JCW via PCP in February 24 from Seafield Road Mini branch in Edinburgh. £400 deposit had to be provided until I got my log book from DVLA as couldn’t find my original log book. After providing my new log book I waited weeks to get my £400 deposit back. After taking the car back no less than 3 times due to the tyre pressure indicator light coming on as soon as I got 5 mins down the road after picking it up , it went in for fix, happened again, went in for fix and finally rectified on the third try. Let this all go though as I am quite a mild mannered person and give people chances. Took car back in April 24 as it snapped out of gear when took off at traffic lights and kept cutting in and out of gears jerkily (automatic) and also had a whine when breaking in reverse. Told they couldn’t see anything and whine would go away over time as probably dust issue and needed a good run. Video evidence to support this. Then I take it in for its 6 month service and brake fluid change to another authorised Mini dealership nearer to home on 30/8/24. When trying to take the rear bleed nipples off to do said brake fluid change , it was seized and I quote “due to over tightening at last change” It broke off and they couldn’t do a repair and advised me new calipers were needed at a cost of £678 for silver ones (red JCW ones that I had on car originally on backlog to December and I wouldn’t get car back until December if I wanted those and those calipers would cost over £1000) . I did not over tighten them - I never touched them . Why would I? Don’t even know what they are!! It was like this when I bought the car. Got in touch with Peter Vardy - they said it was the other dealerships problem as they broke off the rear bleeding nipple. A direct quote from Peter Vardy’s head of workshop - “This isn’t your fault - you have just been driving the car” So I am then stuck in between two different mini dealerships. Peter Vardy said they would speak with the other dealership - both ultimately stating I would have to pay although the other dealership took £100 off as a goodwill gesture. What I should have said at the beginning is this car was 6 years old when bought with 18000 miles on it. Car has sat and done next to nothing for years which is why things have seized and corroded. I drove the car daily since purchase. Peter Vardy stated they wouldn’t support paying for the calipers and said they would phone me back . They did but I was in a meeting - I replied to their email which said they would try again later that day or in the morning. Never heard another thing from them. Sent another email. No response. I totally agree with another persons review of this branch - happy to take your money but once the car is off the forecourt, they couldn’t care less. I will never be back to Peter Vardy Mini and will ensure I discourage others from doing so. I have paid for these calipers as I have had no option as my car was in for a week waiting on this getting sorted and I cannot wait any longer without a car but I will be pursuing this further with ombudsman, trading standards and whoever it takes. Funnily enough, you can’t get a name of the overall manager of the branch on their website to complain to directly. How convenient.

Unbelievable…. Bought a car last year after receiving a video as we couldn’t make it to BMW Edinburgh to have a look.. video was sent over and car was bought.
Arrived and sat in a seat for 45min until we were seen to pick up our new car, to be told it wasn’t ready….. so we were given another car to take home and our new car would be delivered the next day and the boy would take the other car back..
Next day new car arrives and he takes the other one away and we noticed it was the WRONG CAR that he had dropped off. Wrong colour and spec to the one we seen on the video…
After many a phone call/email to try and return the car wee gave up and left it with Motor Ombudsman which is still ongoing a year later.
And guess what the tax renewal came through and they gave us the wrong registration as well, proper dodgy car salesman these lot. Not got a clue either in regards to BMW’s or just basic customer service.
We got the plates changed at Porsche Peter Vardy no issues apart from phoning BMW Edinburgh to be laughed at and told to go to Halfords and send the bill. Plonkers…

Peter Vardy BMW Edinburgh
This dealership is an absolute disgrace to the BMW dealer network and one that i’d like to warn everyone else to avoid at all costs if you value your money, time and mental health !!
It begins with my local dealer trying to find a brand new car for me (My first ever new car as a 30th birthday present to myself)
Scanning national stock on velocity (BMWs national stock registry) so they can secure me the car i want in the specification i desire and supply it them selfs at my local dealer.
Peter vardy had my desired car i was warned by the manager at my local that there not nice to deal with and do not exchange cars with any other dealer if you want a car they have 99% you will have to deal with them for it.
So after they tried sending emails to peter vardy to try and get me the car and being completely ignored, my local dealer gave me all the information on the car and the best deal they could do me which should be able to be matched by them. Wishes me luck and i could ask them for help if needed.
So i went to peter vardy and started communicating with them the sales man i got was called Toby who hadn’t been there long and it showed…. he was unorganised chaotic and i was doing most of the leg work for him to try and buy my own car ?
Eventually making the travel to edinburgh to see the car which is a 3 hour journey for me, I was not happy with it the deal they did. It was more expensive than my local dealer but at this point they had figured out that it was that car i wanted so am fairly sure they were taking full advantage of that by making it more expensive but fair enough they are a business but it’s a little disheartening when really were ever you go a new BMW should be the same price.
So never the less i left later on that day being told i should be able to collect the car a few days later. So i booked train tickets to collect and my partner wanted to come as well for the special occasion, but on the train on the way to collect my car i got a call from the sales manager explaining i couldn’t collect the car as there was a delay in paperwork and it wouldn’t be done in time….
He was apologetic and said my train fair would be covered and he would arrange him self for when it was ready and to cover my train fair back home….but this was another lie !!
At this point all the joy was gone i was left very disheartened and annoyed especially when i was spending in excess of £50,000 on a car that was going to be with me for the next 10 years at least !
I decided to leave the car and look elsewhere as i got a bad feeling about the dealer given my experience so far. The manager craig understood and said my train fair would be compensated.
On the way home i had to travel 1st class as there were no standard seats available on the last minute journey home. but when i sent craig all of my ticket invoices he refused to pay them due to me travelling first class home. I explained that it wasn’t in my control there were no seats and i had to get home since the car was not available to collect.
Another broken promise to which am really not surprised at this point. If anything am just extremely pleased i didn’t get a car from them as god help anyone if there was a problem with the car i can only imagine they would be a nightmare to deal with.
Over all this franchise is a disgrace to the BMW dealer network and the fact other dealers know of them and how bad they are speaks volumes.
One of the most unprofessional places i’ve ever had to deal with and i am happy i didn’t get the car from them in the long run.
Please AVOID at all costs shop elsewhere the headache and time wasting is not worth it !!

I picked up a car from you at on June 10th, I was advised to keep my fuel receipt for the travel up (3hour 30minute journey from just outside Liverpool) and that the receipt would be paid back to be and the car filled with fuel for my return journey.
After a 3hr handover, which was originally scheduled for 30mins, I finally went out to receive the car and found that the car hadn’t been filled at all. The sales manager on the day Mark, advised me to fill up on the way home, email him the receipts and he would sort payment for both my journey up and journey down. I did this, meaning there was a receipt in possession of £76 and a receipt emailed over for £120. I was advised that these would be paid immediately.
On returning home I realised that I had left a pair of Prada sunglasses in my part exchange and emailed Mark along with the receipts, to which I received a reply saying that the £76 & £120 payments would be made and that the sunglasses had been “passed to the host”.
We are now 4 weeks since I picked the car up and I’ve received no payment that was promised to me and no sunglasses. I have been in contact with Patrick, the original salesman I dealt with, who keeps advising me that payment has been processed (it quite clearly hasn’t because it doesn’t take this long to reach a bank, it could have been sent by carrier pigeon in pound coins and would have got here quicker) and that the sunglasses now can’t be found.
It’s disgusting that a payment, for not a small amount of money has been promised on numerous occasions and not been paid and sunglasses have been stolen by someone in the business.
It’s really soured the whole experience of purchasing a car with yourselves and it seems that nobody really cares either.
This is the exact email I sent in to the customer service email, to which I was told it would be past to the management. The exact same management that have failed to locate the stolen sunglasses and have the payment made to me.
Avoid this dealership at all costs.

Bought a £55k approved used BMW M850i from Peter Vardy Edinburgh in Oct '23. Immediately had to spend hundreds rectifying various pre-existing issues that weren't covered under warranty, then after 8 weeks of ownership the engine failed and Peter Vardy BMW basically ran away. I spent a month trying to track down your sales manager who ultimately told me "sorry these things happen this is why you have a warranty." Left to fend for myself I had to threaten to sue BMW Financial Services to get them to internally reject the car as not fit for purpose. 8 months later at the time of writing and it's still ongoing. I'm baffled how you get away with it and BMW should revoke your franchise. If you're a distance buyer, don't buy from Peter Vardy BMW, they won't back you up.

The dealership were extremely helpful from start to finish.Living in Cornwall i thought it would be difficult to buy a car from Edinburgh but I was wrong. The staff I spoke to told me all about the car and sent me 2 videos and arranged transportation to my home. When it arrived the car was immaculate, just as good as in the videos.I will have no hesitation in using this dealership again.

A process that started so promisingly has now become a joke. I've had issues with the car since purchasing. I've tried on numerous occasions to get Peter Vardy BMW to review under warranty. I keep being promised that this will be resolved. Then i have to phone again and ask what's happening. The same excuse is being used over and over and I expected a quality company like yours to deal with their customers professionally. I'm awaiting a double transplant and it seems BMW Peter Vardy are hoping I die rather than deal with the issue. I'm fed up with the failed promises. Who should I be complaining to now that I'm being ignored. Bizarre as only had the car 8 weeks and started raises issues 1 week after purchase and 8 weeks later nothing has happened!!!!!! Is this the service customers should expect??

Absolutely hopeless, they don’t answer the phone, the salesman I was dealing with was as much use as a chocolate teapot, I more or less made a deal to buy a car on Friday 12th
I said phone me on Monday and I will have the finance sorted out, no phone call, I phoned them about 8 times and it just kept ringing out, I filled in a online form for them to phone me back, no phone call, the clown salesman eventually phoned me today with a terrible attitude he also lied and said he did phone me on the Monday, TOTAL LIE AND TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL, if you have any sense don’t deal with this lot

One star is way more than what they deserve,
I bought a Nissan Qashqai from Peter Vardy Edinburgh. Max Codona assisted me in the beginning until I got the car. He said that it is a policy to have a spare key for every car they sell but mine do not has and it will be ordered from the manufactured company and they will come to my home to program it. He promised that all this will be sorted within max 7 working days this was in 17 December 2023. two weeks after this date Max did not answer any of my calls then I've been referred to Ramsy who deals with the spare key ordering, that was another turning point, Ramsy did not do his job as he supposed to.
they changed the plan from getting my key delivered to booking an appointment to go to Nissan company to get it done- I have not mention all the calls that I made asking for an update and I all got that we will deliver your message and please expect a call back in hour,two..... but Ramsy never called back.
then after Max and Ramsy did not do their job and after spending more than two months trying to get my keys with no answer then I decided to call the site manager in a hope to get any response. The manager was not better than the other people, he promised that he will deal personally but nothing changed.
At that stage I decided to make a formal complain to the head office.
The head office manged to speak to them and asked them to give me a call back to update me with the issuing and authorizing the payment for my order and referred me back to Ramsy and promised that he will call me next two days with an appointment, I waited to next week and when I called to ask about Ramsy and leave a message for him to call back he never did, two weeks later I managed finally to speak to Ramsy he said I am sorry but I was on an annual leave.
No one could of save me time and tell me that he was off!!!. I emailed the head office back and told them what happened, the head office replied back and since then its only the head office is the only place I can get any information, and they never asked me to call the Edinburgh office because they know how bad is it dealing with them.
Ramsy booked me an appointment with Nissan on 12 March. can you believe that it took three month to get me a booking. but I have not received an appointment confirmation neither by email or text, then Ramsy Gave me their number to call Nissan to confirm my appointment with them.
when I called Nissan I was devastated with what they told me, she said exactly: on day of appointment if after programming the keys and we have not received the payment we will not be able to release the car to you , your car will remain in our property until the payment is received. I asked how are you expected to get the payment? she said that we will call Ramsy and he can make the payment over the phone, I said what if he did not answer or if he was off? she said then we wait until he answer and pay.
from my experience he will never answer and all of that was like a trap for me, they made the appointment and on the day I will end up making the payment myself.
I emailed the head office back and explained that, and to my surprise they said we can locate your spare key in the Edinburgh office, is it OK if we send it to you by post !!!! Can you believe that it's been in office from beginning but because how unprofessional they are they did not know it was there.
My partner wanted the brand new MG car and Max told him that he will send a video and order the brand new MG for him, My partner called Max twice to start the procedures but Max was never interested in completing the deal.
I told my Husband let's wait to see how this spare key issue will end.
Of course we are not going to buy it from them.
I spent more than three months just believing the lairs. communicating with with them was just through the head office.
I removed the Peter Vardy stickers from my car and I regret the day I walked in to buy a car.
I would never recommend them to anyone at all.
I know someone will reply back to me and will say sorry for the bad experience that I had with Peter Vardy but before you do that go and put your effort in disciplining your employees and put the right person in the right place. now there is only bunch of careless people.

Now I’ve never in my life written a review but Peter vardy has done such a bad job it would be crazy for me not to write one. I’m contacted them so many times and written to many words to them that I’ve just compiled a short version of the events.
Bought car in August 2023 with extended warranty
August 2023
Was told car came with mats - it didn’t
Both keys batteries were low when picking up car after buying it
Noticed a couple of paint chips visible from over 2m away when I got home on same day picking up car - their policy states all chips >2m should be fixed. Contacted them in August on same year. Contacted 3 different managers at Edinburgh and they lied and said I’m on a waiting list and they’ll send me a home repair kit. Both of what the said didn’t happen. Contacted them again for months and they had a look finally after months. I live in Kirkclady so I went to my local Peter vardy. The inspected and said they will fix it but need the Edinburgh branches approval(because I bought the car from Edinburgh branch). It’s been so long I’ve given up now.
Last 3 months
Heated windscreen right side wouldn’t heat up for the past couple of months but last month i phoned to see if it could be fixed. They inspected it fast and said it needs replaced and I would be contacted by some warrently guys and they would fix it for free. No contact for the past month. I phone and apparently all Peter vardy branches nearby have been closed. I contact their number and they say it shows on their file that’s it’s been replaced( I don’t know how that even happens) which it obviously hasn’t and haven’t been contacted by them and they were meant to come to my house and replace it that way as I was told by a Peter vardy employee. I bought the extended warrently and not all the branches have closed near me the o my option if I have something wrong to to travel to Motherwell which is like 1hr 20 mins away.
No wonder they had to close their branches as they clearly don’t have manageable customer service team.
I emailed their normal contact mail and also also emailed 2 important employee emails which I found from my warranty policy. They still haven’t emailed me back
Also I left a review back in December 2023 about the chips on the car and all and Peter vardy actually replied to the trust pilot review and said they would be in contact. It’s been over 3 months so yeah still waiting…

Poor service from day one. There is not enough space here to list the number of issues with this company's service. Time trouble and costs. It would have been better to visit a back street trader.
Once Peter Vardy has the money they are not interested in rectifying issues that costs the customer time and loss of time from work trying to sort out the extremely poor service.
System does not permit zero stars.

Arrived with my car for its service and pick up my courtesy car, to be told someone had cancelled both the courtesy car and the service, It certainly wasn’t me and according to the service staff member it was someone at their head office, It was an absolute shambles. As mine is a motability car I informed them of the hassle I'd had. Although they did eventually “fit me in” I had to sit in their service department for two hours without even the offer of a coffee. No problems with actual service although there was no vacuum or car wash included.

Took my car into this branch yesterday for a service and MOT and apart from the car not being cleaned/vacuumed, all was good. The service staff were helpful and friendly however, there was a salesman on a Skype call behind us who was loudly swearing away and happily using the ‘C’ word, which could easily be heard across the garage. The service staff apologised and said that it was ‘normal salesman behaviour’. I heard the salesman start to discuss a Polish customer and as he couldn’t pronounce the name, decided to clearly make one up, whilst making fun of the name. Not sure if he realised that it came across as quite insensitive and bordering on racist. This is not the first time I have had to complain about staff in this garage shouting and swearing in front of customers. Not a good look especially when children are about and goes on to prove the ‘normal salesman behaviour’ is unacceptable and needs to be challenged by management.

I bought my car at the Glasgow branch, but they are closed for good. Edinburgh brunch has dealt with me since I collected the car.
I received my car and after less than one hour of driving, the engine light came up, showing me that there was a fault. The lady who I spoke with from Glasgow kindly made arrangements for me to get my car repaired at Edinburgh brunch.
When I took the car, the garage staff told me they just cleaned a part of my car where the problem was (I can't remember the name). In less than 10 minutes, the warming light came up again. I took it again and when I collected it, they told me it was the same piece, they ordered it and they will replace it as soon as it arrives. My car also comes with a start-stop technology which hasn't worked since I picked it up and I asked to be fixed as well.
I phoned several times to Peter Vardy Edinburgh to not be even answered. I have spoken only with staff from other departments and a central office.
I've been waiting for 8 months and still waiting with no answers. I just sent a complaint to customer service and hopefully, they will do something about it.
Extremely unsatisfied with their service. And I've been very patient. Never shouted at them and waited patiently. But 8 months I think it's enough waiting.

He is a true accolade to the company and made what can be a stressful situation into an enjoyable fun experience. Thank you Adam.
Billy Fraser was also exceedingly helpful in finding us the best offer for trading in our 2 cars. Thank you both so much.

When I purchased a vehicle from the MG garage on Seafield road the customer service seamed excellent and the all of the staff I dealt with were pleasant and helpful. However after having the vehicle for a few days' this quickly turned into an horrendous experience, due to the faults with the vehicle, rude & humiliating staff and poor communication all round.
After eventually emailing the head office with a plea to rectify the issues I was having with the branch staff I was given the showroom managers contact details, this then prolonged the deceitful experience and in the end got me no further forward.
I will NOT recommend this company to anyone wanting to purchase a vehicle, after my experience with the people from this car garage I am appalled with how they treat their customers and if this is their standard practice then they should not be employed in a customer service role.
