Simply the best!

Our Y6 children had another phenomenal week at PGL (Windmill Hill) doing the multi-activity 5 day holiday. Our school uses PGL year on year because, quite simply, they are the best. The staff, facilities and choice of activities are all first class. I highly recommend PGL to schools looking for a fun-filled, seamlessly organised and adventurous holiday for their pupils.

We had an excellent stay at PGL Osmington where children were nurtured, inspired and challenged by the programme set for them. It was a joy to see our children thrive in such a wonderful setting and in such a beautiful scenic surrounding.

Disregard for children with Neurodiversity

My son went to PGL Liddington on a school trip last week. He came home very upset because he was forced to repeat going on the giant swing by a member of staff named Sammy. He had tried the swing but was upset because it was too tight and hurting him, he has sensory issues with anything being too tight. After repeatedly saying he didn't want to do it. The staff member didn't listen and forced him to do it anyway so the others on the swing coul have another turn, and caused him to feel a lot of anxiety. Staff members shouldn't be forcing children to participate against their will, especially when they are Neurodivergent.

At PGL, we take neurodiversity very seriously and are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all children. We understand how important it is to respect individual needs, especially when it comes to sensory sensitivities and anxiety.
As this was a school-organised trip, the teachers were acting in loco parentis and held primary responsibility for the welfare and decisions regarding the children during their stay. However, we absolutely recognise our role in supporting every child and ensuring our colleagues are trained to respond appropriately and compassionately.
We will use your feedback to ensure that our team members are consistently upholding our values and that no child is ever made to feel uncomfortable or unheard. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

Staff that go above and beyond

We had such a fantastic experience at PGL! The children (and our staff) loved the activities and all of the staff were amazing. We had an issue with the timing of our coach on the way home and everyone rallied round to support us even helping to carry all of our bags up a steep hill and magicking 60 packed lunches out of nowhere. Thank you so much for all you did to make it a fantastic experience!

Our PGL experience was fantastic

Our PGL experience was fantastic! Josh, our group leader, was welcoming, engaged, and supportive, making both staff and children feel included. The children enjoyed the activities and built positive relationships. Communication throughout was excellent, and everything was well-organised.

PGL was a hit!

We took a group of cubs who are used to camping in tents. They were delighted to be indoors and loved the accommodation and the catering (so did the leaders) the activities were superb, offering opportunities to improve resilience and confidence, team building and lots of fun. Pulling this all together were an amazing staff team who were knowledgeable, friendly and supportive. We will definitely return in the future.

Another Amazing Weekend

Just returned from our 3rd weekend at Barton Hall. The young people we take always have the best time; challenge themselves, learn new skills, talk about if for weeks and constantly ask to return. The staff are amazing; supportive, encouraging, bring out the best in each activity. From a group leaders perspective its a low maintenance but high reward weekend away.

Just completed a 2 night residential with over 260 Year 12s and it was brilliant! The team, the facilities, the food, were all incredible and our students had the best time. Quite a daunting undertaking with such a large group, however we were treated really well, activities were diligently organised and staffed well. Thankyou team PGL!

Took the Girl Guides to PGL for the weekend. We had a fantastic time. The girls really enjoyed themselves. They were able to gain confidence and over come fears. Really putting them outside their comfort zone. Accommodation was great and food is good. There is something for everyone. You will definitely not go hungry!

The Dearne Valley PGL site is really accessible, being only 200 meters from a train station, making it easy for youth groups to access. The Epic Challenge was great for team building, problem solving and gave the opportunity for young people to build their own programme.
