Where do we start

Where do we start? We have been coming to Phippins for a few years as tourers generally staying a couple of nights en-route to Cornwall and other locations.
The site has got decidely worse on each visit . A decline of maintenance, fees going up and now half the toilets and showers closed due to "Covid" . And if you visit the toilets beware of the absolutely disgusting state they are in . Showers cost 10p a minute and the 1st 30 seconds is taken up by putting the money in and then running to the cubicle. the owner stated its a prime site to us but wouldnt comment when we asked about simple washing up facilities and launderette. basically there are none. There are the normal cliches on site, but the condesending ones are the handful of permanent residents that obviously do not pay council tax or tv license but look at us and treat us dross. talking to some of the seasonals we heard that the owner likes to burn recyclable things like cardboard and plastic bottles as its cheaper than getting the refuse guys in . The 10amp electric supplies are ok until a kettle or the heater is used, so care is needed and a calculator to determine the quantity of watts before the circuit breaker will trip. The unpaid warden on site does her best to accomodate, but if you are not being paid, why would you clean the toilets ? If you wish to use the disabled toilet, a £20 deposit is required for a key !!
There is a so called waiting list to get a seasonal pitch, but the owner said if we paid the fees, we could move on that day. So we guess the list is minimal ?
On the plus side there is a road out of the place.

Standards have slipped, poor value

Sad to leave after 8 years being a seasonal on this site, unfortunately the standard of cleaning in the toilet block is extremely poor.
Entering the toilet block you will see a cardboard torn sign asking you to brush and flush.
In winter you will see that the thermostatic radiator valve is taped to the lowest setting.
This coupled with the substantial increase in prices for 2023 seasonal , coupled with electric meter payments make this site of little value
There is no Wi-Fi , free or paid
There is no laundrette
You cannot use mains water to wash your car or caravan
You are expected to pay for your showers min 20p
You are expected to weed your own pitch
Touring pitches have even been downgraded to 10amps
There has been no investment in this site in the 8 years we were there.
You will even see the wardens caravan , as in the photos with Tesco Carrier bags keeping the water out.
How sad to see this once good site deteriorate to such a low level
