I paid $170 for a year of nothing

I paid $170 for a year of nothing. Seriously. I upload a photo, and it can't even render for 15 seconds without crashing. F Photoroom. Their product is horrendously bad. This is an ongoing issue since I signed up in June, 2025.

No access to ai tools

Pro customer but havent been able to access a lot of their tools, such as ai background generator for months. It also regularly kicks you out when you’re editing photos. On contacting them I was told I needed to revert back to iOS 17 to access a lot of their tools! A very complicated process which is dangerous for all your other data and information you hold. Not viable to do for just one app. Never got an answer as to why it kicks you out on editing.

Don’t…UPGRADES ARE AWFUL & CUSTOMER SERVICE WONT FIX AFTER WEEKS OF COMMUNICATION

Don’t! It’s changed for the WORSE,

A new pop-up has begun appearing every few seconds on the program. Even when I am writing to customer support the pop-up pops up. The pop-up is asking you to share a photo so it absolutely has nothing to do with me writing to customer support. I have been asking for 2 to 3 weeks now for them to eliminate this constant pop-up. If you hear how many times I say pop-up that’s about how often pop-up popped up on your photos as you’re trying to work.

Also, the functionality has changed drastically within the last couple of weeks. I have been a paid subscriber for about four years. And now everything has changed within the last couple of weeks. They have removed the light button that allows you to quickly put additional light on your photos. That button is gone.

They have changed the slide bars for adjusting various elements, such as saturation, warmth, brightness, shadows, etc., so that if you do not move your finger in a perfect, perfect, perfect linear line the entire adjust system closes itself. That means you cannot look away from the button and you have to be absolutely perfectly straight in your movement. It did not used to be this way.

They did add new text features allowing for more fonts, but even this they have made more difficult. You now have to backspace letter by letter each of the characters in the example of the font before you can start to type your message using the new font. This is senseless And again an issue that I have been asking them to eliminate. It would be really nice if they would just allow you to type in your message and not have their example always in the way.

Again, I have been using this app as a paid subscriber for almost 4 years now maybe five maybe six I don’t even know but I’ve been on for a very long time. The app has absolutely tanked in functionality. I am looking for a new app.

I tried the 7 day free trial

I tried the 7 day free trial. After one hours use I cancelled the subscription. Yet, days later they charge me over 100 USD. What the heck. Absolute scam. They need to refund me asap.

I've used this software for 2 years and…

I've used Photoroom for around 2 years and it's been nothing short of perfect, until now.

The quality of the batch system has gotten TERRIBLE. Not long have they limited how many items you can batch, it also takes ages to download.

They've now included a tier system. I received the ability to batch 150 images on pro, and I paid for the full year for 69.99.

Now... they've made that 249.99.

Absolutely terrible service.

ABSOLUTEY HORRIFIC NON EXISTENT (NON) CUSTOMER SERVICE.. there is absolutely no way to get any support or customer service out of these clowns.. they just run you around in endless loops with bots who don't answer a damn thing... just keeps telling the lie that it will be escalated.. WORSE SUPPORT SECOND TO NONE !

I have tried a free subsciption for a…

I have tried a free subsciption for a few days.
I dicovered very soon that it was not my cup of tea.
As a Capture One Pro user I was asking the support dept. how to incorporate the app directly in Capture One Pro.
Capture One informed in somewhere in 2024 that it was possible to do.
I have sent two requests and only received one poor answer which could not bring me further.
I have quit the subscription

Fashion Model says Photoroom is crap

I'm a model and have been using Photoroom every day to remove backgrounds and replace with AI backgrounds for two years. It has always been painfully slow and has never got anywhere close to producing the background I asked it to. It doesn't know where France is or any French city is and produces backgrounds that are garbage.
In the last two or three months the 'updates' have made it very clumsy to use and it is saving my pictures to the Cloud. Which I don't want it to because Clouds get broken into and photos stolen. I use DeepAI as an image generator and this really puts photoroom to shame. I've now got so disgusted with the clumsiness of the photoroom app and the fact that it has not once given me the background I asked it to that I shan't be renewing my subscription. It really is a dreadful waste of time and money.

It's a scam

It's a scam. They charge you and there's no remedy. Insane...

Support claims to be a person "linda" or "sam" but it's just bots. Say they'll get back to you in a few hours.

I've had them charge me in 2024 and now again in 2025. No idea how to get it off. Insane.

I signed up for the"free version" and…

I signed up for the"free version" and every day after that they were trying to charge me for $13.78. I tried talking to multiple representatives and they all acted like they couldn't help me cancel the membership. There was no option anywhere on the app or website to cancel. It was a mess. After constant messaging with these people they finally said I won't be charged for anything and my subscription is cancelled. We'll see.

Payment Scam

Complete payment con / scam. I used the trial, 3 years ago and keep getting billed $69 each year, I have tried emailing no reply, all I get is an automated reply asking me to log in! It was 3 years ago I don't no my log in details and haven't used it for 3 years!

Photoroom.com - One of many... but better than most!! Honest review.

I honestly don't understand the bad reviews... maybe many are related to payment issues? They use the current industry standard - "Stripe" with ZERO issues on my 10s of platforms per month I use Stripe with. Quick, safe and clear what you pay and when. You can discontinue your subscription easily at expiration.. so there it is. If you have payment issues it is rather YOUR issue NOT theirs 95% of the time. Honestly.. I give up ranting about useless users and give bad knee-jerk review instead of reflecting on what they did wrong or neglected to do.

I create my own images with inspiration by other top TOOOPPP AI imaging models, and wanted a simple background remover. Tried many others, paid and whatnot - this one was GREAT!! So I thought, ok, it is cheap I will use it for my removals only. I am poor freelance tutor, so I count pennies.

Then for kicks I created an image just to test the capabilities.. needed a record of only a few words and it hit it first time! Usually it takes so many iterations with the best other models to get my goal. Guys and gals, give it a try, free trial too. CHEAP!!!!!

I found my paradise. Thank you, you saved me so much time.

I use my own pro photo/image editors, but they have many features for pro users... hope the costs don't increase, cause millions more will join once they discover it.

Hope I helped the platform, they deserve it. I have vast experience in graphic design, AI model & chatbot tester/validator and an English tutor. (I used and tested deepseek since v2 and predicted its rise, may Photoroom.com rise equally)

Background removal needs more work

The background removal tool is handy for simple tasks. For more complicated stuff where you switch from automatic to manual and back again its simply unusable. It will constantly revert changes you did in manual, or if you are trying to get an automatic removal of a certain portion of the image it will reprocess the ENTIRE f***ing image all at once, messing up what you had done in manual.

We/I need a way to have the automatic removal part be applied only to a certain area and not overwrite the changes ive made in the manual. Currently, its frustrating as f*** to use for anything that nears the realm of graphical work instead of simple background removal

Used to be good.

Unfortunately at one time this was a fantastic app and I did not mind paying the large price tag per year
However for the past few months there have been so many problems that noone seems to want to fix.
