Customer service much improved and the quality, comfort and warmth of the (winter) jacket are excellent.

There was a mixup with my order, but everyone I spoke to at player layer really supported and went above and beyond to make sure that my query was sorted.
I can't remember one of the staff members names stood out (sorry) but the one I do remember was Sophie Mitchell :)

Easy to find the school kit and a good range over and above the compulsory stuff.
Quality is excellent and sizing is true to fit.
Only 4 stars as free delivery for orders over £150 seems a little steep...should be £50 or £100 tops.

Purchase for children’s school uniform. Generally happy with quality- especially the weather layer mid layer top. However the wrist seams detach after a while and the tracksuit knees wear through easily.

I ordered some kit for my university almost a year ago and I still have no issues. The quality is great and is very comfortable. I look forward to ordering more soon.

We have been using Playerlayer for 7 years now, and we arguably test them to the max as they provide ~70 different sports clubs with kit on an annual rolling basis, in addition to the regular use of their web-based shop.

There is no denying that they experienced a particularly tough period between about 2020-22 which was a combination of factors including challenges with Covid, overseas factories etc..., and this is reflected in the poor reviews you will read on this site.

However since then, they have been bought out and are under new ownership (Stevensons). The Stevensons infrastructure has helped address a number of the historic issues and I think it is safe to say they are currently operating at the best level in terms of delivery times and accuracy of orders based on our 7 year experience. They also have ambitions to improve on their current KPIs which is good to hear.

I'd like to think there is no denying the quality of the products, and that has always been there, which is one of the main reasons we have stuck with them.

I like the fact they are also always innovating - developing eco ranges, creating Playerlayer hijabs, or looking at bespoke fit for females rather than simply unisex offerings. They are also happy to explore challenges and co-create solutions, something you don't always get from the other companies - particularly the 'International brands'.

I have been using sports clothing companies for almost 30 years now, and I don't think there is anyone out there who has completely nailed it (thus my 4 star rating). There are tremendous challenges for companies in this space with schools, universities and clubs all wanting their kit at the same time in late summer for the new season / academic year. Equally the balance between managing cost and lead times i.e. overseas production vs UK production or Sea Freight vs Air Freight presents another headache.

In summary, the current guise of Playerlayer is the best service I've experienced in 30 years of working with sports clothing companies, and therefore I would very much recommend them.
