Go camping instead...its cleaner

wow! I never expect the Ritz, but some level of basic cleanliness would have been nice. my family spent the first day here cleaning the accommodation. I'm far from a snob, but I've camped in cleaner settings.
it was apparent the chalet hadn't been cleaned so we made a query/complaint. we were told the cleaner would come and sort it. the fact the cleaner had to ask where we wanted cleaning once he arrived just showed how oblivious they are to the chocolate all over the work tops and walls, the hair and dust on the floor, the grimey fingerprints all over the dirty cooking hob,the crumbs on the work top, the dirty utensils, the hair in the shower room and all the dirt, rubbish packets strewn on and around the sofa bed.
to be honest, the state of the cleaner that came....we didn't hold out hope,so we got to cleaning ourselves. not the idea we had for a holiday. as a 6 berth chalet, although quite small...we could deal with it. however 3 sets of crockery and cutlery wasn't cutting it. why on changeover is it not replenished? we were shown where to get some more, and encountered the grumpiness man to date! who casually slid us 3 plates (filthy) and a few bowls glasses and cutlery.
I had to bite my tongue and go back and wash these things as they looked like he had just found them discarded.
to make matters worse, this was an upgraded package. if upgrading comes without cleaning...what the hell is standard??other than this, its an average site with some potentially decent facilities, however they have been neglected and some of them are closed. would I go again,1billion percent not! I will stick to camping rather than endure this filth again

Absolutely disgusting

Absolutely disgusting
Arrived at Cambersands and the place was covered in rubbish but thought give it a go. Go into the room and it was filthy. Floors have not seen a mop in many years, windows covered in dirt and seagulls poo, kitchen area stunk of urine and not clean. My kids said they wanted to go home so tried to book elsewhere but nothing available. Had to spend every day offsite. We couldn’t unpack as to dirty to leave stuff out. In the night not only were children running around banging on the doors till early hours while the adults sat about drinking playing loud music there were mice or rats running inside the walls scratching about all night. I complained and just kept getting ignored as no one ever got back to me. Management never got back to me.

I went in on the 12th of August and left the 15th August I'm home now and my body is full of scabs where I've been bitting in my sleep I have photos to prove and my partner have the same bites in the same places When I arrived I noticed the room wasn't fit wasn't fit for anybody I went straight away home bargains Where I had to buy new duvet's new pillows because the stains and the smell of off of the ones they provided The cook where still had food in it from the last people people there was a smell of rough of rotting fish coming out coming out of the fridge the the floors Filthy you could not see out through the windows they were that dirtyThe toilet lock was broke and they used a piece a cardboard and a screw to hold the latch against the wall inside The mattress could walk on its own This shouldn't be for holiday makers it should be closed down the roof outside the balcony the concrete was falling off on to the football The main entertainment building only had about 20 light bulbs out of 300 it it was so dark in the building you nearly had to guess where you were going it had no air conditionThe temperature was so high I had to leave the building and never return I got hungry and went to the chip shop in the holiday park I nearly got sick It wasn't worth eating I had to go To the shop in the main building and buy a cold tin of soup because the state of my apartment I had no way of heating it up so I consumed it cold

I have just sat down and read some of…

I have just sat down and read some of the recent reviews of this site, the vast majority are 1 star (probably because trustpilot does not facilitate zero or minus ratings) and very scathing. I had the misfortune of holidaying here several years ago with my family and all the issues and failings are clearly still happening, obviously the management are never going to address the problems which have been ongoing for years (the swimming pool was closed and full of furniture back then and judging by recent reviews still is!). Thankfully we can now look back on the experience and laugh about how bad it was, so at least we weren’t mentally scarred! How noticeable it is that the management/owners have not responded to any of the reviews.

How is this place in business!?!?!

The Room:
- The room was beside a green algae ridden stagnant 'river', so a lot of mosquitos and all sorts said a long hello in the night!
- There was no A/C, so the window was the only way to cool down, except...
- The problem with Pontins is that the ONLY thing to do is drink! and when the bar closed, people used the seats outside the rooms to shout and talk loudly, so you aren't getting any sleep (They group people's rooms by age!). So we couldn't keep the window open. No fans either. So we were sweating buckets all night. I think I got 2 hours in at least!
- The bed had bed bugs. I was bitten I think around 8 times on my hand and wrist. Luckily I didn't unpack my suitcase or clothing!
- There was no shower but there was a non-slip shower mat. Maybe it's so you don't slip while having a bath? But there was a floor mat.... I'm still confused about this one!
- All electrical appliances had the date left blank on the PAT test sticker (Electrical safety check sticker). I guess it looks better missing rather than out of date lol
- The TV remote didnt work
- The window didnt close properly (Found this out in the middle of the night lol)
- The hot water tap in the room was scalding hot. I think the only way to use it properly would be to fill the sink and mix it with cold or something weird like that.
- For some reason, when they change out the bedding, they put the bedding on the concrete floor outside. I guess it's technically easier I suppose.

The Guests
- The average age of the guests was around 75. I think the oldies get mega rates plus some of the oldies pretty much live there (retirement). Some of them looked like they were literally waiting to die at Pontins.

The Entertainment
- There was Bingo and Bingo and more Bingo with appearances from 'Tony England'. Wow, Tony England, better hold on to your britches! There was even a slot on the entertainment roster to welcome this Tony England guy back on stage as an actual segment of entertainment!

Food
- All of the vending machines (apart from 1) were all empty. The one that wasn't empty had 4 types of crisps inside but was otherwise empty.
- There was a HUGE vat of liver and bacon. The bacon was turkey bacon... I think. It was way too pink to be back bacon.... Unless...
- I think I overturned 10 'clean' plates before I found a clean one when getting dinner
- The canteen was like eating in high school. Endless rectangle tables. Drab decor; very spartan. Lots of eyes looking at you as you walk in. The old person stare is hard to break to say the least lol... I lost many impromptu staring battles.
- The Drinks, well, they had tea, coffee or juice. The juice machine had 3 flavours: Orange, Lime and Pink. The orange dispenses water at dinner time (But not at breakfast). The lemon and lime also dispensed water, so I had the other one. Pink flavor I think the label said. Except when it dispensed, it was cordial, not juice. 1 part cordial, 10 parts water. I regret not giving up and having a tea in the end.
- Breakfast was alright actually. Nice fry up breakfast. The large vat of scrambled egg was more wobbly than a jelly mould, but other than that, no complaints (Other than the dirty 'clean' plates)

Amenities
- The pool and Sauna - I think a lot of the problem is that they still advertise things like swimming pool and sauna as features of your stay, but they have been closed for around 5 years. It's was just used to store mattresses and furniture. Why is it still on their website and also on Booking.com!? The sign on the door of the abandoned pool stated: 'No Pictures!' lol what?
- There was a mini golf setup outside which I definitely saw in the early 90s in Skegness, some 30-odd years ago. The same holes and the same features. I would never forget that cartoon octopus statue lol...
- Next to the golf was a bowling green except there were stones where the bowling was supposed to happen. I didnt think a bowling green would be hard to maintain, its just grass. I have no idea what the stones were even for! Maybe where they paid the bowling green to rest when they gave up on it.
- There was an 18 hole golf course, expect all of the holes were 10ft away from each other. I have no idea how that works lol. I guess you take it out of one hole and chip it into then next. To take the ball right back to the start and aim for the other hole 10 feet away from where you tried last time. Who knows!
- An outdoor gym. It was as rusty as hell. Even the sign for the gym was rusty.
- Next to the gym was a swing set. 2 swings were missing. The only thing left was a kids double swing. Bare in mind, this is an 'adults only' Pontins where the average age is 75 lol

- I didn't see one 'blue coat' the entire time. I have NO IDEA why. They are in all the pictures and advertisements (It's basically people dressed in blue coats whose job it is to make sure everybody has a good time).

Filthy and CS is usless

Absolutely disgusting place. I have never seen so much filth. We checked in and then left straight away after talking to management. The filth in the communal areas was worse than the rooms. I contacted customer services for a refund and they said no because I didn't give them a chance to do a re-clean. After seeing the reception, arcade, restaurant and bar I wouldn't stay there if the room was pristine. After pointing this out to customer services I was told no refund and do not contact us again. The entire place is vile and unsafe. Please do not go here at any cost,I wouldn't stay if they paid me.

Pontins Camber Sands

Pontins Camber Sands has been a revelation. Not been to a Pontins in years and given the reviews a little concerned at what to expect...well if your a glas half full than half empty person, then should be no issues.
It is a cheap, cheerful break, by a wonderful beach, with plenty to do for the kids.
However I'm sure the park has seen better days, does require a lick of paint, there seemed to be a distinct lack of program of activities for the children.
On the plus side, the staff are amazingly friendly, everyone we came across seemed genuinely passionate about their job and provide a good service.
The beds and sofa bed, are not the most comfortable but will do if you use it as a base just for sleeping. The kitchen is very basic and just enough if you fancy doing a quick meal. The bathroom seems to be updated, but no shower head or mixer, old style single hot and cold taps.
Cleanliness does leave a lot to be desired and given Covid should be improved.
If anything try it, make your own mind up and you just might discover a gem. For the family great getaway.
Customer Service - on the phone seem to be on form and very helpful if you have any questions or queries.

Pontine Camber Sands

Turned up & litter everywhere, buildings look tired & entrance gate manned need key/booking details to get in. First impressions terrible & drove to Parkdean site along the road but they were fully booked so had to make the most of it.
Booked for 3 bedrooms got 2 bedrooms & a sofa bed to use in main living compartment, the most uncomfortable beds ever.
TV small, remote control had 1 battery, wouldn’t work even with 2 batteries.
Apartment dirty, looked grubby.
Did have new shower, wardrobes looked newish but draws on unit stuck/off runners, not a lot of storage space.
No freezer in fridge, no tin opener either & only 3 glasses for room for 6 but did have 6 mugs to use instead.
On the good site the pool is big & has been redone along with the amusements. Shop on site has large selection. Where money has been spent it looks ok. Still needs a lot more to be done.
Would never go back not even if giving holidays away on site in the state it’s in now.

I love Pontins Camber Sands

So just to clarify, i dont work here, i have never worked here, i dont know any of the pontins staff personally and as someon else said, no i dont have social services after me for enjoying my getaways.
So What can I say, I really love pontins camber sands, I know so many people slate them and complain about the most stupid of things, I've taken a lot of freinds there with me and they have always expected the worst, when they have got they have been surprised at how nice the rooms really are.
I go 4 times a year to the themed weekends, 70's/ 80's and 90's/ 00's, they have great acts, great entertainment and all for a reasonable rate, the atmosphere is electric and I have made so many life long freinds there. All I say is give it a chance, have a look, don't go in glass half empty, look at the bigger picture, it's a cheap getaway, if jts a little untidy then do as my nan always said, put on a smile and look on the brightside.

Disgustingly bad

Prestatyn Sands is the worst place I’ve ever seen. The apartments look like they’ve been left to rot for 10 years. The staff literally couldn’t care less. The dirt in the rooms are unbelievable. It’s beyond belief how bad it is. It was literally like visiting an abandoned park with how rundown it was. DO NOT go here.

Pontins Prestatyn .

Pontins Prestatyn .
we have stayed at other pontins before and know not to expect to much , Pakefield and Sand bay where passable and i have booked to go back to Sand bay later this year. but Prestatyn is a new level and i am surprised it is still allowed to trade. On arrival the place is so run down and depressing before you start , then the room , great location but cigarette butts on the floor , faeces all around the toilet , kitchen cupboard doors missing and a rusty old cooker . on complaining at reception they tried sorting another room which was not much better with sewage water from a soil stack pouring all over the floor outside the room , supplied with two single quilts to go in a double duvet , cigarette burns in the mattress. so went back again to the reception and handed my keys back and told them i am not staying , they offered to either do a report then and there or report it to Pontins guest solutions on returning home which is what i did only to be told by them you that as i do not have a guest solution form filled out at the camp site they would not be able to help! so thanks Pontins Prestatyn for ruing my Holiday , wasting my petrol all the way from Brighton

Pontins Brean Sands a big NO NO

Booked a Sun Holiday originally for Camber Sands on the Kent coast back in January 2022 for the long weekend starting on the 17/06/22, we had been here before and it was ok. We received a phone call about two months ago stating our original booking could not be fulfilled and was offered either a place in Scotland or Brean Sands in Somerset. My wife took the call and agreed to Brean Sands. For the inconvenience we were "Up Graded" and offered a bottle of wine on arrival. After picking up the keys I went and found our chalet, my wife is disabled, and so I left her in the car as you can not park near. I opened the chalet and was met with a smell and a dark and dank place that was supposed to be for 4 people. So on returning to the car informed that there was no way we were staying in this S!!!hole. She insisted on looking herself. She was a little more forgiving but when she noticed that the double bed was actually a fold down settee in the front room and that was uncomfortable to sit on let alone lie on she started to change her mind. She also mentioned the smell. There was not enough crockery and cutlery to support 4 people, there was still food in the microwave and because of the smell we could not close the only door and the search for a cat that could touch its knees before we swung it round was unsuccessful. The laminate floor was lifting, possible water damage as there was evidence of water ingression in the ceiling, so possibly the source of the smell. All the windows were that dirty you would have thought it was thick fog outside. We decided to have a wonder round. Most of the site was either shut, broken, overgrown, or just dilapidated. The place itself looked like in had not been touched since the 50's think Hi De Hi crossed with a POW camp. At this point we were grateful we had prepared our arrival dinner on our own crockery. After cleaning the microwave we heated it up. After finishing it we looked at each other locked up walk back to the car, we had not even unpacked, dropped the keys off and drove home the same day. We spent a whole 4 hours on the site and the only reason we spent this long it had been the hottest day of the year so far (17/06/22) so we let it cool down and being a Friday let the roads quieten down as well. That was just short of a 500 mile round trip and a waste of not only the day but nearly £70 of petrol. If I could give this place a minus score I would. PLEASE PLEASE do not waste your money coming here

Absolutely filthy and run down

Absolutely filthy and run down. The chalet had broken furniture and beds older than me (54)! The double bed was a filthy old futon in the living area and the kitchen had broken cupboards and dirty pans. The toilet was covered in stains and hairs. It really was not habitable. I can't believe places like this are available to stay in especially with covid!

We went to Pontins Prestatyn- never again

We went to Pontins Prestatyn for 4 days end of May 2022. Once in the room at 4pm we made our grandson’s beds but it would have been nice to have had mattress protectors on beds. I had to sweep the floor first as it was covered in glitter.
We had no pillows for our sofa bed contraption & put 2 single duvets that were in wardrobe underneath our sheet, if not it would have been cold sleeping on leatherette.
We moved the sofa & yet again I had to sweep the floor.
The rubber seal of the oven was poking out & only 3 forks for 4 people. Thankfully I had a picnic set with me.
I think the only clean thing in the place was a new shower curtain thankfully on that account.
The fish & chip shop had no fish & over cooked chips, so won’t recommend them!
All the advertisements of Pontins being a great fancy entertainment place isn’t true.
Pontins need to get a wrecking ball & flatten the whole place & replace with a decent maybe caravan park.

No pillows! Blocked toilet on arrival! Dirty place and mould everywhe!

Pontins was cheap (about 120f for 4 nights at the promo price), I read the comments and we don't need much of the "luxury". We came here prepared for some minor cleaning and sanitizing. Sooo, where to start.... We are still here at the time of writing this feedback - we checking out on 3rd June. I wanted to be fair and I was looking for any opportunity to give 2 stars even for the price. But I really can't... They don't even deserve 1 star to be honest. On arrival we found that the toilet in our bathroom was blocked! I noticed the cleaner and informed him of this fact to which he replied. "You must go and report it to reception. -HE PAUSED AND SAID- Have a lovely holidays!" - actually that made me giggle :). Then we noticed that we didn't have a single pillow. We reported everything to the reception and looked around this park. When we returned, the toilet was unblocked but the water from the flushing spring was spilled all over the floor, the pillows were still missing. We returned to the front desk. Lady sent us to another building for pillows, at the threshold of the entrance we were greeted by a guy. We asked about pillows and he said that they no longer have pillows and that he can give us 4 single duvets! We had no choice, we took these duvets and slept on them. Today we went to ask again and they still had no pillows! (I bet we will not get them by the end of our stay). The rooms are dirty, mouldy on the walls, ceilings, pvc windows, the fridge is rusty and has mould inside. Today, we have tried to use the stove, the burners are either rusty or greasy and smoke terribly. The microwave and toaster we were afraid to use. There are 2 taps everywhere, the water is super hot so there is no way to wash your face, and the shower.... My God, I've never seen anything like this, they should give tickets for it like in amusement parks with those 2p machines. To take a shower like a normal person would do, you have to push the button 100 times. There is no pressure, and the water simmers everywhere but not on a person... No free ATMs in the area. The kebab bar opposite only accepts cash and they told me "we don't accept £50 bills" - whaaaat?

Pontins? Never again, even if they pay me to to stay here...
