Shop to be avoided.

The shop was poorly laid out. Many products were more expensive than other discount stores. Worst of all though was the customer service experience. Oh dear just how rude and disinterested was Debbie. No please or thank you. My change was almost thrown at me. She certainly didn't want to be there. Me and my friend will not be going again and will be letting others know to avoid the Lowestoft shop.

rip off. do not go there

I have already left the same feedback/review on the Pound Stretcher site in Enniskillen yesterday. Far too expensive. Bubble wrap 20m x 30cm £9.90. Ebay 100m x 30cm, £5.99. That's 10 times the online price. Home bargain ( on line price, not sure if it is the same "in store" ), £1.99 .........Rip off Poundstretcher. I sell online and run out so I had no choice but to go and buy some. I won't be back

I heard management screaming at a young…

I heard management screaming at a young employee I think this behaviour is disgraceful especially from a big shop there was multiple people as well as myself who felt uncomfortable being in the shop because of the shouting especially at a young boy this is unacceptable the poor boy came out with tears in his eyes I think you should have a look at who you are hiring as manager as I have seen him speak disrespectfully to this exact same employee recently I will be reporting to a higher authority if this continues to happen as I shop in there regularly

Overcharged me on advertised price.

Bought a 200g tub of johnsons baby powder in Barnsley store. It said £1-19 on the shelf. When i got to the till i was charged £1-99. Just got a smirk when i mentioned it. Thats a right scam they have going in there,it often happens in alhambra centre shop. Rarely honour the displayed prices. Couldnt be bothered to argue about it at time.

RUDE STAFF! Bognor Regis

Very POOR customer service. Very RUDE! I was going to buy couple of things. My little girl was waiting for me in the very corner with her little pushbike.
The sales assistant had a go at my daughter for having a pushbike in the store and then he told her to leave the store!
Bare in the mind someone already left a big bike in the other corner of the store!
I got involved and explained my dissatisfaction, we left and we won't shop in there.
I would appreciate if the management would get involved in order to give training to their staff.
Unfortunately I haven't asked for sales assistant's name. He was an elderly white male.

Would give 5 stars but

I would rate this shop five stars in Wythenshawe for its overall service; however, one staff member, Chris, has consistently made me feel uncomfortable during my visits. His patronizing attitude is evident as he often stares and follows me while I shop, as if he doesn’t trust my ability to browse on my own. I have also noticed him observing me closely as I walk past the store, which has heightened my discomfort and forced me to change my shopping days. On a positive note, the other staff members foster a welcoming atmosphere and are genuinely pleasant to engage with.

Theft from staff!!!

Hello.

Today the guard from Haverhill pound stretcher, absolutely humiliated me. Lucky I didn’t loose my temper.
He made me pull out my bag in front of customers. Even a worker on the till said the shopping was from Iceland.!

Yet ultimate power corrupts absolutely.
Then stole he stole 3 items. 3 items I brought from Iceland and that he blagged from me.
I’m on way home due to myself being humiliated and extremely piseed off & fuming (still am).

I want him fired. He caused me trauma and public humiliation.

Aweful bloody human. He confiscated about £5 of my Iceland shop & im poor as hell!

Please punish him: telling mnot to swear at him im a 40 year old working am with teenage kids. Bloody knob, bugger off you patronising idiotic dumbass.

Please do something with him. Or I’ll go on the net, exposing the grief & nefarious practices of your company!
PS IF YOU DRESS SLIGHTLY UNIQUE THEYLL JUDGE YOU 4 it. I felt targeted!!!!!

Out of date produce for retail prices

Went in to get some Tassimo coffee pods from my local store. Poundstretcher selling them for £4.49 which is pretty much retail price to find that they expired a month ago... Ended up going to Aldi and got same ones for a £1 cheaper... Found that a lot of their produce is out of date but trying to sell at almost normal prices... B&M or Poundland far better

Health and Safety training

Generally speaking a good range of goods at reasonable prices, and staff are great.

BUT

Can I please suggest that staff (at least in Cotteridge Branch) might benefit from some Health and Safety Training.

I picked up a bottle of Mould remover from the shelves that turned out to be leaking, which resulted in liquid over my hands. The warning on the label of a similar product art home says that liquid should be washed off the skin as soon as possible. I pointed this out to staff, and asked if any water or at least a paper towel to dry my hand. I was told that this was not possible, but was asked if I wanted to buy the product (not a leaking one). As I am aware the leaking product was left on the shelf for the next person to pick up. Clearly this could have been far worse- eg bleach on a child’s hand. I am disappointed that staff seem not to understand the basics of H and S (which most workplaces, like ours) that is usually the subject of basic courses.

I was shopping in your store on…

I was shopping in your store on Walworth Road SE17 London on Saturday 19th April. It was approximately 11am. I was shopping for some supplies for my local business which I own down the road, Barefoot Yoga studio on Browning Street.
When I arrived at the til to pay for my items, I soon realised that I didn't have my phone to use my Apple Pay. I explained to the lady at the desk that I had had my phone stolen the night before and it had slipped my mind and I wasn't carrying my cards ( it was verbatim the truth). The lady replied " I've heard this excuse before, can I check your bag?" Mindfully, I emptied my bag, it was pretty clear that I wasn’t stealing because all of the items were laid out on the counter. I was given no apology . The woman was extremely rude and seemed to have an attitude about her, snarling and cursing at me in disgust.

First and foremost, I was shocked that I was being asked to empty my bag but the way in which the lady spoke to me was unacceptable. I have never been excused of stealing before. I asked to speak to the manager. The lady posing as the manager did not apologise for the women's behaviour and at no point was I treated with respect or sincerity. The manager would not give me her name and she was not wearing a name tag.  I asked for the name of the General or Regional manager. She said that there wasn't a General Manager for the store and was most unhelpful.

As a business owner who regularly shops in this store, I was appalled by the manner in which these ladies conducted themselves. I also employ staff and it is absolutely imperative that if you work in customer service that you are personable, and most importantly apologetic and humble if you get something wrong.

As I left the store, I mentioned that I would never shop from there again because I wouldn't want to be treated in this way, equally I wouldn't wish other customers to be spoken to in this way.  The assistant then replied " I hope you don't come back". I left feeling very upset and discriminated against in the most unprofessional capacity.

Products and Jackie full marks.

What's not to like. Love the variety. Normally I like it for garden and Christmas decorations. However this time I wandered away and was well happy. Some good stuff and household bits and bobs. But most of all Jackie at Bexleyheath. What a star ⭐ seen her many times there. And her customer service never changes. Friendly, polite and down to earth. Just wish the retailer who is next to Bexleyheath store had 10 of Jackie for customer service.

Drew at Welwyn Garden City went beyond with her service today, polite and helpful. A credit to the store
She helped me as I have mobility issues at the same time as trying to stem a major flood in the shop. She really deserves a pat on the back.
