Customer BEWARE - Criminals AT WORK!
OMG! BUYER BEWARE! heed previous reviews! PrestigeLocksmiths24h (aka Swift Locksmiths24h) was the top sponsored recommendation; they are also certifiable criminals! They knew they had my adult teen (who was locked out of the flat) in an impossible position. We were only quoted the emergency call-out price after the technician arrived.
The locksmith determined the issue to be a broken multipont locking mechanism (stated the part to be unrepairable). They quoted my teen a criminal price (after already taking the door apart) and stated that it was impossible to put the door back together, if we decided to not have the repair done; which would also leave the flat unable to be locked at all.
A trying day ended in us being taken for 1300 quid (where they not only extorted a king's ransome), they are aslo stealing from the UK government as they quoted us the price of the new mechanism as 600 quid, plus service call, plus VAT... then when we recieve the actual invoice, they showed the price of the part as 816 quid/ the VAT for part/service was 0!
Not only were we coerced for 1300 quid in total for something that should have been a few hundred quid the UK government is also getting screwed by this HORRIBLE company.
Prestige Locksmiths/ Swift Locksmiths' customer service was horrendous... it took them more than 3 days to send the invoice and when it was sent, they hosed that up too... sending it as if we still owed payment... not showing it as an already paid invoice. I'm chalking this up to an INSANELY embarrassing BAD investment. Sharing my SHAMEFUL experience to help others avoid my mistake! I hope these criminals go out of business and I hope they are held accountable by the UK government for evading thier tax responsibilities!
Misleading Quote and Rude Conduct
I called and received a clear quote of £55 for a simple job. The person on the phone did not mention any call-out fee, minimum charge, or VAT.
The locksmith arrived and demanded £69 plus VAT. The company did not disclose this fee on the phone or on its website. I paid by card only because the locksmith applied pressure at the door and acted rudely.
I later called to give feedback about the lack of price disclosure. The person on the phone cut me off and ended the call. The company now refuses to answer my calls.
This business does not explain pricing upfront and does not handle complaints professionally.
Scam
Scam, Scam, Scam - Avoid at all cost, absolute scam.....I nearly got done because, I was desperate and did not read review. They just tried to charge me £795.00 to change a UPVC door lock and hinges. The lock cost £24.99 and I supplied the hinges. After a lengthy argument and threat to call police, he accepted minimum payment.
Prestige and Swift locksmiths, AVOID
I was locked out and called prestigelocksmihs and was sent someon from Swift Locksmith Solutions (non-MLA company).
They charged me £867.60 for drilling and replacing one standard door lock.
Average UK locksmith cost for this work is £300–£400 even for out-of-hours jobs.
The company provided no quote before work began and used high-pressure tactics while I was stranded outside in the rain with my dog.
I signed the invoice only to regain access, not as agreement to the price.
I believe this was an unfair and excessive charge.
AVOID these CRIMINALS at all cost.

This company is an organised CRIME ran by CRIMINALS. They also operate under Swift LockSmith 24H.
They should not be allowed to keep ripping honest working people off. They are not to be trusted at all.
Someone need to stop this criminal organisation. This is the contact number to avoid at all cost:- 03303903793
They will rip you off with unbelievably high prices for little job and threaten you too.
Charged over £1000 to open a locked door and change the lock on it
AVOID AVOID AVOID
AVOID AVOID AVOID. Appalling. If anyone is thinking of using this fraudulent company then I would advise you to look elsewhere immediately. They did not give me a quote beforehand and then they charged me £268 to replace a lock that must have been about £20 in total. The callout fee is nearly £100 and the work carried out lasted 10 minutes. How they can justify such a high price is due to the fact that they are scammers plain and simple. The worst part is the fact that the fitter damaged my door handles in the process and for a week now I have been unable to get an answer from them. I am pleased to see that I am not alone in being coerced and robbed by this company. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. PLEASE!
RIP OFF.. I wish I’d read the reviews
I wish I’d read the reviews. Locked out.. simple lock. 6pm.. 180 call out fee.. then was told 275 in labour for lock.. then cheapest lock was 190.. all in all £789 for less than an hours work. Please don’t use them. I’m so upset by having to waste this amount of money and I think they should be put out of business. Disgusting.. how can they sleep at night.
OVERCHARGING
UPVC balcony door was jammed. The locksmith came and opened it in 5 mins- then unscrewed some bits and asked for 240£ then said to close the door 450£ then said give cash and took 380£. Then the door wasnt even locking- we asked him to check again. Overcharged and cheated.
They charged 400 for the cheapest lock…
They charged 400 for the cheapest lock and screwed it up. They allowed a notch between the bolt and the door for the latch to get stuck in. After a phone call I was met with complete combativeness and quite frankly rude customer service; despite outlining the issue, I was told it was my fault, this company is the n complete denial. Do not use this scam company, you’ll have some fake lock smith having a tantrum to you and asking for more money for a 20 quid lock
DO NOT CALL THESE SCAMMERS
DO NOT CALL THESE SCAMMERS AND RUDE PEOPLE, I CALLED FOR THEIR SERVICE AND WHEN I ASKED HOW MUCH THEY SAID THE ENGINEER WILL TELL YOU ONCE THEY ARRIVE, HE COMES AND TELLS ME THAT ITS GOING TO COST 400 POUNDS AND I SAID NO THEN HE TRIED TO TELL ME I HAD TO PAY 200 FOR THE CALLING COST AT WHICH BEFOREHAND I HAD CALLED AND THEY DIDN'T TELL ME THE PRICE, ONCE I SAID NO HE TOOK A PICTURE OF ME, AND I SAID THEY WILL CALL BAILIFFS IF I DON'T PAY. WHAT ABSOLUTE SCAMMERS DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE ABSOLUTE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
Zero stars
I would give no stars at all if I could. There is no clarity in communication. I kept asking what is the total charge and I was not told the actual cost. I was also told a lie about how much it would cost if I did not take their service. I would not trust this service.
SCAMMERS - DON’T GO ANYWHERE NEAR THEM!
Called them out this afternoon to fix my elderly mother’s front door lock. When the locksmith arrived, the costs started to go up. I was quoted £120 plus VAT for the job beforehand on the phone and no additional costs were mentioned at that point, until the locksmith was there standing in the hallway demanding payment. I refused to pay, and then was subjected to a volley of abuse down the phone by the ‘owner’, part of which was to tell me it ”wasn’t a smart move to give out my address and then take the piss”. A clear threat. He didn’t know I was recording the conversation however and I’ve since reported them to the police and sent them the recording. Next stop is referring them to Trading Standards. So PLEASE don’t go anywhere near this bunch of cowboys!
SCAMMERS - AVOID
Prestige Locksmiths are involved in organised scams. There is no company registered in the name of Prestige Locksmiths. They appear first on Google search and portray themselves as long established company but the company does not even exist!! They send a scammer who works under a different company. I have been scammed and plan to take the scammer to court. They charge over a £1,000 to change a lock!! PLEASE AVOID THESE SCAMMERS!!!
Great tehnician great job
Outstanding service from start to finish! The locksmith arrived incredibly fast after my call and quickly diagnosed the issue with my lock. He was professional, friendly, and clearly experienced, completing the job efficiently and to a very high standard. Everything was explained clearly, and the pricing was fair with no hidden surprises. I highly recommend this company to anyone in need of a reliable locksmith!
Excellent service
Excellent service! They responded quickly and arrived the next day as promised. They resolved our issues efficiently and charged a fair price. Highly recommend!
Fantastic service from start to finish
Fantastic service from start to finish! Helped me with a court bailiff eviction and arrived even earlier than expected. Very calm, friendly, and professional, making the whole experience much smoother. Truly grateful—thank you!
Complete scam and pushy/rude locksmith
Complete scam and pushy/rude locksmith! The only locksmith that would answer at 11:00pm, stated that they would be there within the hour, it was closer to 2hrs. When he got there, he said the only way would be drilling it out (seems to be the only thing they know going on reviews here...) despite explaining that it had been picked with ease a few months prior. On top of that, they wanted to charge nearly £550 for the call out and drilling of the lock. We refused after knowing better, he still tried to push us into it after refusal. Despite being in a desperate situation, please try calling friends, family or hotels before even thinking of calling these people.

TOTAL SCAMMERS WHO WILL RIP YOU OFF
BEWARE: THIS COMPANY ALSO OPERATE UNDER THE NAME FORTRESS LOCKSMITHS24HR AND ARE SCAMMERS.
They appeared at the top of a Google search and I made the mistake of calling them out to fix a door that wouldn’t open. I was given a quote for the call out of 49 pounds but not told about the cost of the job. When the person arrived, I was told about the parts needed which turned out to be exorbitant. I felt unable to do anything about it as the lock had already been taken off the door. When the person returned, having gone away to purchase these parts, I was then offered a choice of an additional lock which was needed for the door or a cheaper, less effective alternative. I was not told about this beforehand and I also found out that a 20 per cent charge was also added to the bill because it was the weekend. Again, this was not told to me in advance. The final bill came to over 838 pounds for call out fee, labour and parts. My door and door frame was also damaged by the locksmith when carrying out the work. The mess left behind was also not cleared up. I phoned the company to complain and the person at the end of the phone was rude and evasive. The company’s website mentioned on the invoice does not exist. I have been left feeling sickened by the experience and have contacted the Trading Standards Authority. I am also contacting Citizens Advice and my MP. I advise everyone who has had a bad experience to do the same.

This Company give the impression that they are local with 47 years experience.
They are NOT.
They are countrywide with mobile staff.
I was told half hour which turned out to be over an hour.
He drilled the lock and used a hammer to open the door. Fitted a very basic lock and charged well over £300.
They appear at the top of the search list.
I should have been alert when the initial answer is an American recorded message.
Always make sure you are speaking to a local person.
