Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 294 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the customer service, describing it as abysmal, unhelpful, and difficult to access, often leading to frustration and a sense of being ignored. People frequently encountered issues with product quality and sizing, noting inconsistencies and items not fitting as expected, which sometimes resulted in wasted time and money. Additionally, many felt that prices had increased while quality had declined, and some experienced problems with returns and exchanges, especially without a receipt. However, some customers also noted positive interactions with staff members, highlighting specific individuals who were polite, patient, and went out of their way to provide excellent assistance and empathy. These positive experiences, though less frequent, sometimes led to a desire to return to the store.

I bought a black suitcase

I bought a black suitcase, and it leaked rain water
I wrote to Primark and have been bombarded with the same question and answer
I sent a photo and the washing instructions inside
As requested by them, and still they keep asking to send photos
And whom ever the one asking can’t spell. And keeps spelling further wrong
This is so stressful
I’m not asking for the money back, I just want to change it for a hard case I’ve only used case once

The clothing is hit n miss

The clothing is hit n miss!

Most recently, I bought some cheap hoodies.. £9 each, from memory.. and thought I did well. But they were literally DONE after only a few wears. Baubling badly. THE cheapest material. Total false economy.

On the other hand, I've had brilliant jeans from primark, really good quality, back pockets not stitched, as good as you'll get, for £10-15. That wasn't recent, right enough.

Bexleyheath Branch today

Bexleyheath Branch today. At till to pay, two female staff talking to the customer on other till. One starting serving me eventually, both still talking, looking at each other. Totally ignoring me but processing my items, I could have been wearing an SS uniform she would not have noticed. Really bad customer service from my point of view. Thrust the receipt at me at the end. Had similar in M&S so nothing to do with the bottom end of retail. Usually found (especially Bluewater) staff are very polite and happy and interact with you. These two might as well have been hanging their tits over the back garden fence gossiping for all the good they were.

Click + collect - serious issues

My £100+ click and collect order didn't arrive in store on time. I was offered no refund or update, it appears they have no system for tracking when things go wrong.

Update: Primark responded to me 11 days later to say there is a delay with Click and Collect and they know what the issue is and are working to resolve it. So the issue is ongoing. I will not be ordering anything from them again!

Normally have no issue with primark

Normally have no issue with primark. But the sizing has become so abnormally wrong when ordering online. From ordering a Medium to getting a large and then ordering a large and it feeling like a small. Just needless hassle.

Poor Quality and expensive now

I used to buy all the time at Primark. However, the quality has really declined. It is like market quality. Also, the prices have gone up massively. 40 pounds for a very thin jacket. I will rather go to other shops with similar prices but much better quality like Reserved.

Primark Oxford Street: Daily Thefts, No Help, and Staff Indifference!!!!!

I recently had my bag stolen at the Primark Oxford Street East store between 19:50 and 20:05 on 01/11/2025 in the sleepwear section near Disney products. I immediately noticed the theft and sought help, but the staff showed no concern and were initially completely unhelpful. When I reported the incident, I spoke to a staff member at the till who gave me a loss report form, not the store manager.

Another tourist next to me had her phone stolen at the same time, and she alleged that a staff member took it, which I cannot confirm. She told this to the same senior staff member I spoke with, but no action was taken, not even a question asked. Both of us were tourists, we had flights the next day, and important documents like passports and IDs were at risk, with her losing her phone in the process.

It was stated that around 10 thefts occur daily in this store, yet despite this, the staff remain so indifferent, which is unacceptable. When I reported my bag theft, staff did not even come over to assist me. One staff member continued folding clothes and completely ignored my situation. Despite the seriousness of the situation, no one took responsibility. When I tried to explain my situation, I was stressed and upset, yet instead of offering support, the staff blamed me for being nervous and treated me poorly. The store manager (or senior staff, I am not sure of their exact role) acted as if it was completely normal and showed no empathy or assistance.

I find it unacceptable that such frequent thefts occur in a store without any warnings or preventive measures, and that victims are treated with such indifference. I hope this review makes others aware and that Primark takes responsibility to improve their security and customer support.

Click and Collect

Sadly, like many others, they have a major issue with their click and collect.

My parcel has been lost/stolen, at their warehouse, and they are unable to process refunds apparently.

Their customer 'care' team cannot assist at all. I presume these people are Christmas temps, as they were utterly useless.

Avoid unless you want your money stolen

For the lovely lady that helped me.

I was browsing the Christmas ornaments, etc. I found the candle holders, that I had seen on YouTube on someone's post of visiting and making a video of your store for your Christmas goods, and was very pleased with the price and quality, so I purchased 2 of them. However, I became unwell during my visit, (I'm an old bird, and my feeling unwell was absolutely no fault of Primark).
When at the checkout, I asked the lady serving me, if there was a bathroom that I could possibly use.
My goodness, the lady, (sorry, I did not get her name), but on my receipt it says "Oper: 00672034", could not have been more helpful. She very kindly escorted me to the bathroom, having to walk at my pace, (very slow), and making enquiries if she could do anything further for me, drink of water, if I needed a seat, etc. etc.
With the service (or lack of), you get in most shops these days, I was completely and pleasantly surprised and extremely grateful for her help. I cannot thank her enough for being so helpful in my moment of need. She was extremely caring and concerned; even offering to walk me back to my car. You have a real treasure with the relevant staff member, and I was not surprised to hear that she has been employed by you for 12/13 years I believe she said.
Please be kind enough to pass on my sincere thanks to her.
She has made my day all the better by meeting her.

Awful experience at Primark Oxford…

Awful expensive at Primark Oxford Street East. Took some towels back as I was really unhappy with the quality of them. Had the receipt but was told because I'd used them I wasn't eligible for a refund. How could I have known they were poor quality without trying them?!

Primark Breaks the Law, Ignores Sale Price, No Accountability

My family and I have been customers of Primark for years, which is why I am so disappointed and disgusted by their treatment. Recently, my sister and I picked up the same hat from the reduced racks, clearly marked at £4 with orange stickers. There were numerous other items and accessories nearby, and around 10 of these hats available — all with the same orange stickers — so it was clearly not a mistake.

When I asked the assistant to get a manager, he said he would, but no one ever appeared. Even when I told him, “You have to sell at this price, it’s illegal,” he looked at me as though I was dirt on his shoe. I was treated unprofessionally and dismissed. This illegal and disgraceful behaviour is unacceptable. At the till, the assistant snatched both hats from us and we watched him deliberately peeling the orange stickers off.

Primark could have and should have put things right and allowed the sale at the reduced price, but they haven’t. They are fully aware of their illegal actions and don’t care, thinking they are entitled and above the law. I have contacted Trading Standards. Primark may get away with this, but their illegal act of not selling at that price deserves to be investigated, and other customers should be made aware of how they operate. On a recent visit, the hats were displayed away from the sale area at the full price of £6.50. I was also sent a £5 gift card, as if that would make up for their illegal actions. Their dismissive and arrogant behaviour shows they clearly do not value customers.

Customers are what keep shops in business — they should be treated much better than this. Primark could have and should have done better. Their repeated brush-offs have left me with zero confidence in their customer service.

Absolute Pants

This rating is for their click and collect service. I would rate them zero if it let me. Ordered a 6 pack of check woven boxer shorts on the 9th of October. Arrived on 11th. Opened package to find just 3 pairs of boxers, just loose and no packaging. Like they were found in their miscellaneous pile in the warehouse and thrown in. Complained on their site and it’s taken until today (24th October) to respond with “ We have now reviewed this with our warehouse team and their systems have been unable to identify an issue with this order.” So that’s that then. No refund, partial refund or exchange. Just computer says no. Look, it’s not about the money, they were cheap enough, it’s the principle. Any decent company would sort it out with an apology but Primark would rather rip their customer off and lose them for life. I suppose that’s the attitude these huge corporations are going with now. Every penny counts…for them. Useless

Click & Never Collect

I placed a click and collect order on Sunday afternoon with the option to collect at the chosen store from 2pm on the Tuesday, the confirmation email states to wait to receive email and SMS confirmation that your order is ready to collect. No such email or SMS was received so I contacted their online customer services on the day I was due to collect to check if it was ready as my email with tracking was showing it hadn't even been dispatched. The agent said they are experiencing delays but wouldn't give any further information as to why, when I would expect my order to be ready or any real apology. They said it could still be delivered to store that day which I questioned as the store closes at 5:30pm and this was already 3pm and the item hadn't been dispatched. I expressed that It was disappointing that I have had to reach out for an update and these known and "widespread delays" haven't been communicated first hand from them.

I then checked again today (the day after) by calling the branch but no answer so I went to the online chat to see if there was any update, if my order had been dispatched or a new estimate as to when it will be ready, still unable to provide any information or update, I then asked a few questions as I was ordering to a nearby store to where I was working this week but won't be there next week, asked if it was possible to change which store which was told it wasn't possible, understandable with certain systems but I went to see if I could order the same item to a nearer store and said It would be ready to click and collect on Friday from 2pm. Which I questioned why this is still possible and if I was to order to this branch would it be impacted by the delays and they couldn't answer that. They then just abruptly ended the chat which I found rather rude and unhelpful. It's my first time doing a click and collect from Primark and will admittedly be the last. They clearly don't have the infrastructure or customer service to support this. I've experienced better customer service on Aliexpress.

In store is a different experience.
