Worst Customer Service
This is the worst customer service.I think i've ever encountered. For the second time, I spoke to a proactive soul called customer service representative. Last Nov 2025, i was told that I could delay my shipments and contact them on April 1 of this year. I sent them an email on their website. The next day I received another shipment, so they evidently shipped it prior to April 1st. They want me to return it at my expense, per a customer service rep named lucy, I spoke to who I could barely understand. I wonder how proactive can be proud of themselves?

Seems like I found out the hard way what others are saying. I could NOT get out of a subscription that I did NOT sign up for. I was told that my acceptance of a "FREE GIFT" committed me to a subscription every 90 days. That is NOT what I was led to believe through the purchase. I was offered a discount and a "FREE GIFT" if I purchased a certain dollar amount - no where did it say the gift was a subscription commitment. What ALSO angered me, was that I was charged and sent a "subscription" box and charged a SHIPPING fee that I NEVER would have agreed to. You can go buy Proactiv at your local WALMART, why the heck would I pay a shipping fee? I called the company and spoke with a rep that was willing to "pause" my subscription and refund me the shipping costs of the package due to my not agreeing in the first place. That did not happen. So when I call back to cancel this subscription (as you cannot do it on their site), the newest rep sees the "record of my phone call, but no note of the refund for shipping". How convenient. This is all extremely poor business practice that locks a consumer into something they canNOT get out of.

Poor Customer Service - not responsive
I had a subscription to proactive for my daughter. I needed to reach out to Proactiv for a few questions. I completed the form 2 times entirely along with submitting my request. I have confirmation that the message was received. I never received a response to my questions. Either the form is broken, or they don't respond to customer service concerns. As someone stated, the practice is shady when they attempted to contact them via email, they continued sending the products. Do better and take care of your customers. This is disappointing.

They advertise “cancel at anytime” but it is very difficult. Scamming company. I had to reach out to my credit card company to alert them. Buyer beware! I will be alerting the media to this too.
Subscription trap-ineffective product
we ordered directly through Proactiv, not realizing that it's subscription based. We encountered major problems with cancelling the subscription and the company kept sending products and charging us. The product is not great--didn't do anything for my teen daughter's acne.

Do not purchase anything from this company they are stealing money by defaulting your payment unknowingly to a 3 installment billing method and then sending a partial “unpaid” payment to collections you didn’t know about because they do not show you complete details on your account!!!! I wish there was a zero star like everyone else stated do not buy from them directly 3rd party is cheaper. My daughter purchased but they sent another box saying subscription there's no account set up and she dod not sign up but the box they call glow up purchasing that is an automatic subscription. They do not refund s&h it costs more to send the product back.
Extremely Unhelpful Customer Service
I recently placed an order for Proactiv. I noticed as soon as I had placed my order that I had paid with a credit card that was attached to a previous address. I sent a note within a few minutes of placing the order that the address was incorrect, but they refused to assist. I contacted them a couple of times and received the same unhelpful response. Worst customer service ever.
No customer service and they don’t care
I was a regular customer for many years. I liked the product. But last year, customer service became non existent, so I closed my account. Today, I received a collections notice for a bill from February 2022 , stating that they had contacted me multiple times. They have never contacted me once - even when I closed my account they did not ask for the balance. I don’t necessarily dispute that I owe it, a payment could have been missed when I changed debit card information. However, after two and a half years, I have no way of determining one way or the other. I have complained to the company also, but given recent experiences, I expect no acknowledgement or response or apology whatsoever. Buy the same product from Amazon instead, with no subscription and better customer service!

Absolutely the worst costumer experience I have ever had, product was shipped to wrong address after a month of waiting, and there is no way to process a refund, replacement or even credit for a new product. The same as tossing $50 in the trash.
Attempted to cancel order back in…
Attempted to cancel order back in October 2023 and was surprised to see more charges on my credit card void of any product delivery. The explanation provided was the subscription was cancelled but not the order - such a scam. They refused to credit me for a shipment that was never received due to being past the 60 days. I explained that I never received the product and was told there was nothing they could do. Never again will I subscribe to such a shady operation.
Product is good
Product is good. Customer service and website are atrocious! You'd be better off buying Proactive on eBay at half the cost and free shipping. And without the recurring shipments you don't need.
They don't deserve one star
They don't deserve one star! Don't give them your credit card information! It has been months of disputes over charges after I cancelled! My credit card company found in my favor and Proactive is threatening to turn me over to collections! They have zero customer service!

DO NOT Subscribe!
The product works great on hormonal acne, no doubt about that. However, just like any other review you will read for this site, canceling your subscription is almost impossible!
First, I was kind enough to postpone my subscription (instead of canceling) until December 2023 BUT, it seems like the associate DID NOT do so because I just received a charge on my card!
That's all! Needless to say, because of this - I will definitely be terminating my customer relations with this company.

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. Didn’t realize I was paying for a subscription and disputed the charges and was told that I need to pay to return it for a refund after paying 3 installments. Won’t get my money back for shipping and the product doesn’t even work. The people at customer service don’t know what they are talking about and can barely speak English so it was hard to even get the correct spelling of the address to ship my items back to.
TERRIBLE Company and Customer Service
I placed an order on 2/18 and was told I would receive an email confirming my order. I never received it but my credit card was charged. I followed up with the company on 2/19, no response. Followed up again on 2/20, they said I placed the order on 2/19 and I wouldn't receive an email confirmation until I received the order. The order was to be added to my transaction history on their website within 24 hours, it never was. I have no proof of my order but they had no trouble charging my credit card and will not send me anything regarding my order. I saved the screen showing my order confirmation from the website or else I would have nothing. The customer service was terrible, they would give no straight answers, would not provide me with an order confirmation and when I asked for my personal information to be deleted once this ordered shipped, they refused. Will never order from here again. Buyer beware.
